Knowing about Ella, and why she left, it should have given you some peace of mind. She had betrayed the team and the relationships that had been founded by the players. Worst of all, she betrayed the wives who trusted her with such responsibility. It was a thought that weighed heavily on your mind during and between your appointments. You wanted to be better than the standard she had set. You wanted to abide by your contract, do your job, while being respected by the wives, because you would honor the agreements made. But that was something easier said than done, especially with the roster of the Tampa Bay Lightning.Â
Since your encounter with Ella, and your appointment with Killorn that allowed you to unpack just what exactly had happened to the first wife, your appointments left you on edge. You read each calendar appointment on your phone not once, but twice, and you never overstayed your welcome. You always returned to your room, or your seat on the plane, away from the players you were contracted to serve while on the road. It was isolating in a way, and you often had to remind yourself why you were doing it. You would not destroy a marriage.Â
Even after a 0-1 defeat to Detroit that ended in a shoot-out, that was the thought in the back of your mind. Worst of all, the boys would have to play again tomorrow, which meant turning in early for everyone but you.Â
You wouldnât get to sleep just yet, not with an appointment with the Captain in your calendar.Â
Mouth wide open with a yawn, you sorted through your suitcase in search of a black teddy his wife had ordered for you to wear on the trip. Or at least, you assumed it had been from his wife. It had just shown up in the mail one day with a card signed S.S. And then the request had been listed in the appointment, approved.Â
The snug, figure hugging lace teddy replaced the business-casual attire you had worn to the game, your face contorting as your body shuddered at the realization that the teddy itself was crotchless. The air that filled your hotel room sent you shuttering as you jumped into a pair of tight shorts and shrugged on your oversized team branded sweatshirt. It would cover you up enough to get you down the hall to the captainâs room, even if the crotch of the shorts chafed against your clit with every casual stride you took.Â
When you came to his door, you didnât even need to knock. Stamkos had been waiting on the other side, waiting patiently for your expected arrival. He greeted you with a smile, his hand taking hold of your forearm carefully to guide you inside. It was the beginning of the routine the two of you shared during your appointments. It would start with the gentle touches and the sweet exchange of words as he coaxed you to the bed. But then, the captain never wasted any time with you.Â
The two of you always followed the directives set by his wife and stuck strictly to the time constraints given. Which is why it didnât surprise you when Stamkos guided you to the comfort of the hotel room bed. The barely disturbed blankets sunk around your knees as you crawled up the length of the bed and into the captainâs lap. You could feel the heat of his body radiating against the inside of your thighs, and the stiffness of his cock pressing up against you before you could really even touch himâand you smirked. He was always so eager, so ready, as his hands brushed over your body. It wasnât a featherlight touch. He wanted you to feel his palms and his fingers and their warm touch as they wrinkled your clothes and dripped down into your shorts and your panties.Â
The weight of his touch sent your skin blazing hot as he dipped deeper and deeper until his fingers pressed into your clit and began to trace over your sensitivity in slow, teasing circles. And Stamkos watched you there, your breathing becoming needy and shallow with his every rotation. He watched as your face softened and your eyes fluttered, completely and utterly enthralled by taking his time with you.Â
It left your head light and spinning, your hips angling into his touch just to try to feel more of him. Your chest heaved with desperation, and you knew he must feel how wet you were as it puddled in your panties. His knuckles grazed against them with each deliberate motion - but you only drew a real response from him when you were left whimpering with need.Â
âI want to try something different with you today, would you like that?â he breathed his hot words against your throat, and punctuated his question with a sloppy open-mouthed kiss.Â
At that moment, you were ready to beg him. Your mind was foggy with need, your core already near pulsing with pleasure. You would say yes to anything.Â
âWhat are the Captainâs Orders?â
With his free hand, Stamkos reached up and pinched your chin between his thumb and finger. He opened up your neck and placed gentle kisses against the sensitive skin slowly. And it was there, his hot breath washing over his skin, that he whispered, âA little roleplay?â
Your heart skipped as your curiosity peaked. âOh?â
âDonât worry, youâve been doing so well already,â his praise sent a wave of heat through your body, your core clenching as he continued, âyouâve been such a good wife for me, but I think itâs time for another wifely duty. Iâm going to fuck a baby right into you.â
Your throat went weak, and your lips parted in a desperate gasp as you tried to find any words to say, but you could only manage one. âSteven.âÂ
It felt foreign to have his name slip from between your lips. It had always been captain or Stamkos. You had never spoken his first name. It kept things distant, professional, but suddenly it all was so personal.Â
You knew the rules, the terms and conditions set by his wife. The ones he wanted to ignore, the rules he wanted to break. It left your stomach knotted, your throat weak, so close to falling into illness because you knew why he was asking. You bent the rules for Tony and for Ross. And hadn't been shy about it. He knew. The whole team knew. And now he wanted you to break them for him.Â
Captain's orders.Â
âI signed a contract,â your words were breathy as you turned to face him, âand your wife-â
âWould never know. I wonât tell her, would you?â
You should have gotten up and left the room the moment those words left his mouth. The phone with all of your appointments should be in your hands as you texted an update to his wife about what he had asked you to do. Yet, you lay frozen in the bed, your eyes fixated on Stamkos as he waited for you to answer his request.Â
His hands stroked over the soft lace of the teddy slowly, your head spinning at the touch as you tried to find the logic of it all. You wanted to say no, you should decline him, butâŠ
Every precaution you could take to avoid pregnancy was taken. You had attended all the medical appointments made by the wives to assure of that too. And if anyone was going to get you pregnant, it would have been Ross because the two of you had never been careful. And those factors shouldn't have mattered. But they nagged at the back of your mind so loudly you could not ignore.Â
The room felt suffocating around you, the weight of the decision heavy on your chest as you fisted at the thin fabric of Stamkosâ shirt. You felt his warmth, his body, and you let it ground you, coaxing your first calm breath in what felt like minutes as you faced what felt like an inevitable outcome: no matter what you did, you could be fired.Â
The playoffs were only 15 days away.Â
The boys needed you. Their wife.Â
There was only one thing you could do.Â
With your fingers still coiled around his shirt. You pulled it up over his head slowly. His arms raised, letting the fabric slide down his to slip from his fingertips. And in the seconds it concealed his face from you, his expression softened as if he were on the verge of melting under your touch. His hair left tousled, falling into his heavy lidded stare as you tossed his shirt onto the floor. Then came the warmth of his lips, stealing your breath as you mumbled your words against the pressure of his kiss. âPut a baby in me, Steven.â
Your name was a low growl, barely audible on his lips, as he leaned and pressed his lips to yours in a kiss unlike any other he had given you before. It was more than just a kiss, something quick and heated to get his cock hard and your panties wet. Stamkos had one handle cradling your jaw as he kissed you deeply, passionately, his tongue sweeping inside your mouth to taste you as if it were the very first time. It makes your heart race and your brain foggy as his hands explored your curves and worked his hockey toned body from the constraints of his own clothes while he left you in the pretty lingerie.Â
It was only as you felt the tip of his cock crest against your core that just what was happening hit you in a tornado of a thought. Stamkos wasnât just fucking you bare, he was making love to you. His every touch was a deliberate caress, his every kiss left you breathless and shuttering, and it all made it too difficult not to react.Â
Your body came to wind around him so effortlessly. Your thighs hitch around his hips, your ankles hooking at the back of his thighs and pressing down so carefully. The pressure left him groaning against your flesh, the thrust that followed deeper, harder than the last. Each impact of his hips on your own left you shifting across the bed, your hands having to reach up to brace yourself against the headboard to keep yourself from smacking your head into it.Â
Panting, you focused on the cold surface of the headboard against your sweaty palms. The muscles in your arms ached, and your heart thundered deep in your chest - faster and faster as your cunt throbbed around his cock.Â
And then you felt it. The twitch of his cock and the flood of his cum inside you. It was a warm wave that filled you. One that you felt in the depths of your belly even as he unsheathed his cock from the embrace of your cunt. With your face still red hot with the heat of your orgasm, and the weight of Stamkosâ body from you, you rolled over and gathered your clothes. With each of your movements rushed and clumsy, you practically stumbled from the bed as you jumped into your shorts â but not even their tight fabric could distract you from the feeling of his cum beginning to spill from your core.Â
It left your heart pounding loud in your ears, and you could feel it pulsing throughout your body as you moved for the door. It was there Stamkos stopped you, his hand on your arm to stop you from leaving. You didn't know if he had said anything before that moment. If he had, you didn't hear it. But you looked up at him with a smile and heard his gentle words.Â
âTake this before morning,â Stamkos said, his words far from a suggestion as his hand found yours. In your palm, he dropped a small pill pocket. Your fist wrapped around it tightly.Â
You could only nod, your voice too weak to find even a single word before you slipped out the door. Gripping the pill even tighter, so tight your nails dug into the flesh of your palms. You could not drop it, you couldn't risk anyone else seeing it. No one could know what had just happened.Â
Not even Cirelli, who stood in the doorway of his hotel room, waiting so patiently for you to be done with the Captain as he had so many times before. But you couldn't risk seeing him, not tonight.Â
You shook your head slowly and paired your subtle, silent rejection with a yawn. Maybe then he would believe that you were just too tired. Maybe then he wouldn't become suspicious.Â
And he doesn't question it as you walk right past him and disappear into your own hotel room. Standing there with your back pressed to the door, you opened your palm and stared down on the tiny morning-after pill in your hand. It and the feeling of his hot cum pooling in your shorts left your stomach knotted. And with that feeling, you didn't have to think twice. You opened the pill pocket with gentle pressure, releasing it into your hand before you brought it to your mouth and swallowed it back without water, without anything but guilt.Â
Even hours later, as you lay in bed with sleep refusing to take you, you swore you could still feel it there. A heavy lump in your throat, an aching reminder of the rules that you had broken. And there, as you wrapped your arms around your pillow and squeezed it tight, you decided you could never let something like that happen again.Â
hey! all good? I just got to your blog! I can ask a question? why don't you write about jack hughes? is he problematic? I don't want to make you uncomfortable, I just want to understand.
HOWDY!
iâm just not attracted to him is all đđâ€ïž i havenât been writing much recently anyways, but overall i donât find him attractive
âexcuse me,â you freeze at the familiar voice of your mother. you turn your head to find her standing at the bottom of the stairs, arms crossed over her chest and her eyebrows raised, âwerenât you supposed to be out of here thirty minutes ago?â
âi could ask you the same question,â you send her a nervous smile that she doesnât buy and your shoulders fall as you slump against the wall with a huff. she taps her foot once and you scramble to come up with the best excuse that you could for still hanging around your house when you were explicitly told not to, âceleste and i decided to go see a movie and i need my big purse to sneak snacks in.â
you can tell by the look she sends you that she doesnât believe your story, but with a wave of her hand she dismisses you, telling you to âmake it quick.â
with a sigh of relief, you turn and quickly make your way to the top of the stairs, pushing open the door to your bedroom. you cross the floor and push the curtain out of the way, looking into the backyard. you see a lot of the boys that your father trained during the off-season (some you recognized, some you didnât) but not the one that you really wanted to see.
your shoulders drop and you let the curtains fall back into place while you start looking around for what you had originally came for. you find it sitting on the top shelf of your closet and when you go to reach for it, you nearly scream as a pair of arms wrap around your waist. thereâs a breathy chuckle against your ear and only then do you relax because you realize who it was. his arms loosen, but he doesnât let you go, âdid i scare you?â
you turn in his arms and shove at his chest, âyouâre going to get us in trouble.â
ânot if you stay quiet,â matthew mumbles, running his hands down your waist and playing with the hem of your sundress that you had so stubbornly worn, âcan you do that for me, babe?â
you nod your head, unable to form the words that he wants but heâs having none of that. he sends a sharp slap to the upper part of your thigh and you take a deep inhale, squeezing his biceps, âiâll be quiet, matty. i promise.â
âgood girl,â he puts two fingers under your chin, forcing you to look at him, ânow iâm going to tell you whatâs going to happen and youâre going to listen, responding with words. i need to know youâre okay with whatâs happening. i may not be very nice about it because we donât have a lot of time, okay?â
âyes sir,â it slips from your lips easily and he grins, pressing his mouth to your own. you grab onto his wrist like it was a lifeline, keeping you grounded as he walks you over to your bed. he sits down and pulls you down on top of him, âmatty-â
âthis is whatâs going to happen, honey. iâm going to fuck you and youâre going to watch me do it,â he says it so normally, so casually, and your cheeks burn. he chuckles at the confusion that takes over your face, turning you in his lap so youâre facing the mirror positioned across from your bed. everything clicks into place then and he places a kiss on your shoulder, âyouâre going to ride me and youâre going to walk out of here with me dripping out of you. youâre not cumming so donât think you are. if you do this for me, i promise iâll make it up to you later. are you okay with that?â
his fingers slip under the hem of your dress and you nod your head. before he can reprimand you, you swallow the lump in your throat, âiâm okay with it.â
he pushes your dress up and chuckles when he finds you bare underneath, âyou slut. did you come over here expecting to get fucked? tell me the truth.â
âi- maybe. i didnât know if you were going to be here.â
âyou didnât know if i was going to be here? so you wouldâve gotten it from anyone then?â his fingers dip between your folds collecting some of the wetness that had formed. on instinct, your legs close around his hand and he scolds you, âif thatâs how youâre going to act, iâll just go back downstairsâŠâ
âno, i- itâs, i wouldnât have gotten it from anyone. only you. itâs just yours. iâm yours.â
âi know that you are,â he pushes your legs apart, ânow i want you to watch me and tell me what iâm about to do to you. if you close your eyes, i stop. do you understand?â
âi do,â you let out breathlessly as he rubs his thumb over your clit before sinking his fingers into your heat in one go. you tense against his chest and he uses his free hand to pat your thigh, reminding you of your task, âyou, youâre going to fuck me and iâm going to watch.â
âwhat are you supposed to do, honey?â
âride you,â your eyes connect in the mirror and he has a smirk on his lips as he slips a third finger beside his ring and index. you gasp in surprise, âmatty-â
âkeep going, y/n. theyâre going to notice iâm gone soon.â
âi need to ride you and make you cum, but i- i canât. iâm going to be good though so that i can,â you take a deep breath, âand when youâre done, youâre gonna make me walk out of here with you dripping out of me.â
âdamn right i am,â his hand wraps around your neck and forces it back, pressing his lips to yours roughly. he lets it last for a second, still working you open before he pulls away enough to utter the words, âget my dick out. i canât wait anymore.â
he brings his fingers to his lips while you pull his cock free, rubbing it up your slit a few times to gather the wetness on it before starting to push it in. you gasp, the stretch like nothing you had felt before and having to view it from this angle was a different type of stimulant. when your dress slips, matthew grabs it in one hand and pulls you back against his chest once your are fully seated on his lap, âlook at how well youâre taking me, baby. taking me like you were made for me.â
âmatt, i-â you try to reach for something, âi canât-â
âyou need help, honey? are you still okay with this?â his eyes flash concern for a moment as tears slip from your eyes.
âiâm fine, i just- help,â you utter and he grins, wrapping his big hands around your waist. his nails dig into your hips and you groan throwing your head back onto his shoulder as he thrusts up. he lets you get away with it for one, two, before thereâs a pop to your thigh. âiâm sorry.â
âi think that you were made for me. never letting you go anywhere. look at how pretty you look taking me,â he mutters in your ear and you tilt your head forward, watching the way his thick cock stretches you open because at that point you had just become pliant on his lap, holding off your own release.
you can tell by the way his thrusts start to get sloppy he was close and when he reaches his hand between your legs to thumb at where you were most sensitive. you whine, âmatty, you-â
âi know what i said, y/n, but you look too damn good right now,â is his only explanation and who are you to argue with that?
it doesnât take long before heâs filling you with a quiet grunt and you follow not long after, him covering your mouth with the hand that wasnât working you through your release. you feel his lips against your cheek, muttering praise about how good you were and how this was absolutely not the last time you would be doing this.
âmatty, i-â you take a deep breath, leaning into his chest as his hands slowly rub at your thighs, âi donât think that i can walk.â
âoh honey,â he coos, a little mean about it, âyou know that you can.â
he gives you some time to recoup on his lap before heâs gently nudging you away. you stand on shaky legs while he tucks himself back into his shorts, a stupid little smirk on his lips as he watches you shift your weight from side to side. he pulls you in again and you gasp as his finger traces the line of his cum that had begun to slip out. heâs almost proud when he says, âkeep your window open. as long as you're good, iâll come back and clean you up tonight.â
with a final pat to your leg, he stands up and slips out of your bedroom, leaving you frozen in the middle very aware of his implication of what cleaning you up entailedâŠ
Summary: After months of travel restrictions on the road, Mikhail canât take it anymore. The two of you sneak away for lunch before the last road game in a long road trip, and Mikhail wants to taste you for dessert.Â

A = Aftercare (what theyâre like after sex) After sex, Jeremy is a soft!boy. He likes to cuddle, and kiss and stroke his partner's skin. Almost always have to nap or go to bed afterwards.Â
B = Body part (their favorite body part of theirs and also their partnerâs) Jeremy is a lover of his partnerâs legs. He very much enjoys stroking along his partners' legs - especially after a fresh shave - and having them tangled up with his during sex. Of his own body, he loves his own arm-span - he feels like he gives the best hugs.
C = Cum (anything to do with cum, basically) Jeremy could care less if he gets to cum, but doesnât feel accomplished in bed unless his partner has come at least 2 times.Â
D = Dirty secret (pretty self-explanatory, a dirty secret of theirs) an avid outdoorsman, Jeremy isnât afraid to find a secluded spot and enjoy nature during a quick fuck.Â
E = Experience (how experienced are they? do they know what theyâre doing?) Jeremy is quite experienced, not that he brags about it, but it can be felt in how he treats his partner and how he prioritizes their pleasure while recognizing what they like with nothing more than the reactions of their body.Â
F = Favorite position (this goes without saying) He canât quite name a favorite, mostly because he wouldnât know what to call it - but heâs a goalie, so you can assume whatever position heâs contorting himself and his partner into isnât for the faint of heart.Â
G = Goofy (are they more serious in the moment? are they humorous? etc.) Jeremy can get quite goofy, including blowing raspberries against his partnerâs stomach.Â
H = Hair (how well groomed are they? does the carpet match the drapes? etc.) Much like his beard, Jeremy likes to keep the rest of himself well-groomed.Â
I = Intimacy (how are they during the moment? the romantic aspect) Jeremy is very intimate. He builds the sexual experience on careful, lingering touches and kisses that travel from lips, to jawline and to his favourite parts his partner. Â
J = Jack off (masturbation headcanon) Jeremy doesnât masturbate often, but when he does itâs usually while heâs on the road after/during sexting with his partner. Â
K = Kink (one or more of their kinks) body worship, contortion/flexibility, oral sex, praise.Â
L = Location (favorite places to do the do) Jeremy prefers the bedroom almost exclusively and will make few exceptions (see D) as to where he thinks he can properly make love to his partner.Â
M = Motivation (what turns them on, gets them going) Nothing motivates Jeremy more than a win - which the Bâs have done a lot of this season - and heâs more than happy to celebrate in bed after he comes home after a W.Â
N = No (something they wouldnât do, turn offs) Jeremy wonât deviate from anything too vanilla in the bedroom. He likes to keep things soft, tender and caring for his partner.Â
O = Oral (preference in giving or receiving, skill, etc.) Jeremy will never turn away oral sex, but he is very much a giver when it comes to it and he will take his time to pleasure his partner with his mouth and tongue. He is very skilled in this sense and very much enjoys it.Â
P = Pace (are they fast and rough? slow and sensual? etc.) Jeremy is a slow, and sensual lover. He likes to take his time with his partner, spending lots of time on foreplay - and even a massage before easing into things.Â
Q = Quickie (their opinions on quickies, how often, etc.) Jeremy doesnât enjoy quickies all that much, he doesnât enjoy how disjointed they are and the intimacy they lack but is known to make exceptions (see D).
R = Risk (are they game to experiment? do they take risks? etc.) Jeremy doesnât take all that many risks. He knows what he likes, and what his partner likes and he sticks with it.Â
S = Stamina (how many rounds can they go for? how long do they last?) as a goaltender, Jeremy has a special kind of stamina and can go a good few rounds with his partner before he grows too tired.Â
T = Toys (do they own toys? do they use them? on a partner or themselves?) Jeremy doesnât own any sex toys, he likes to keep things more traditional in the bedroom and relies on what he can do with his own body to please his partner.Â
U = Unfair (how much they like to tease) Jeremy doesnât tease much, but he is a big fan of foreplay.Â
V = Volume (how loud they are, what sounds they make, etc.) Jeremy isnât loud, and instead makes soft sounds and low groans.Â
W = Wild card (a random headcanon for the character) Jeremy wonât straight up tell his partner he likes when they were lingerie - but it is easy to tell because it always leaves his cheeks bright red and a wide grin on his face.Â
X = X-ray (letâs see whatâs going on under those clothes) Jeremy has an athletic build that leaves him lean - the perfect amount to make him perfect for cuddling. Below the belt, heâs on on the long and slender side.Â
Y = Yearning (how high is their sex drive?) Jeremyâs sex drive is moderate, he wonât struggle if he has to go without it for a few days while heâs on the road, but when he is back home with his partner he isnât going to shy away from going more than once a day if the opportunity presents himself.Â
Z = Zzz (how quickly they fall asleep afterwards) Jeremy is a sweet, sleepy man after sex. Heâs cuddling right up next to his partner and is going to be sleeping within minutes.Â
dude im cryinggg. my love for jeff skinner will never stop and the fact that (iâm guessing it was his idea) he hung photos of the staals up in the backdrop kills me! heâs honest to god the funniest person while simultaneously making me cry over him and eric.

It had been 2 years in the making, the event of the decade your best friend had humbly coined her nuptials. And she was right â her and Blake had been waiting for what felt like a lifetime to show their love to the world or more specifically, to nearly 400 of their closest friends and family. It had been quite the build up with a global pandemic getting in the way and coordinating a wedding in Australia when so many of their guests were travelling in from overseas wasnât easy. But they persevered and had finally made it to their wedding eve, guests from around the world checking into nearby hotels and resorts, excited for their big day.
For you, however, it was the rehearsal dinner that had you on edge from the second you stepped off your delayed Qantas flight that morning â stomach in knots over the unknown of it all. The few details that you were aware of were the ones that had you tangled up; the first being that you were Sarahâs maid of honour, one that you took very seriously but because of the border lockdowns and hectic work schedules, you hadnât been as involved as you wouldâve liked.
The second detail was the one that really had you in a chokehold. Up until this point, youâd avoided the inevitable, relief washing over you every time either Blake or Sarah said he couldnât make it to the wedding party zoom call or when a suit fitting that Sarah had begged you to come along to was cancelled. Avoiding him had been a breeze so far, your communications kept mediated between your two best friends.
But today was D-day.
âYou are rocking that LBD, girlie.â
Sarahâs voice brought you out of your phone and into the present, her bright white smile lighting up the room. It was the happiest youâd even seen your best friend and that alone was enough of a reason to grin and bear what was to come with him.
âWell I am technically single and hopefully out of the thousands of people youâve invited to your shin-dig, thereâs at least one suitor for me to have a crack at,â You winked, âBut not your uncle Graham â heâs not my type.â
Sarah rolled her eyes and turned towards the full length mirror propped up beside your chair, âHeâs back with Aunty Shirl so donât worry⊠But I do know someone else who is single â definitely your type and actually mentioned you a few times last week.â
An interested hum slipped from your lips, curious to know who had been asking about you. Maybe you were in luck.
âWho was it?â
The way Sarah smirked and flicked her long blonde, perfectly curled hair off her shoulder shouldâve given her away; âJust a friend of Blakeâs â the classic tall, dark and handsome, you know⊠Brown eyes, absolutely hilarious and such a gentlemanâŠâ She continued, her tone teasing.
You blinked a couple of times, completely deadpanned as you stared your best friend down; âYou better not be talking about Dan.â
âHeâs still hung up on you, babe.â Sarah confessed, treading carefully.
âI donât care,â You whined, irritated that this conversation was even happening. It had taken you months to move on, to mend your broken heart and now here you were, getting the run around by your supposed best friend who only wanted what was best for you. In her opinion, that was Daniel Ricciardo.
âWell just be civil with him. I know things didnât end well and I know that you blame him for all of it and rightfully so,â Sarah quickly added, sensing your narrowed stare, âBut you did love him once upon a time. A lot. And I know that you love me and wouldnât do anything to fuck up my moment so get your sexy butt up so I can go see my husband.â
âAye, aye captain.â
Anything to end this conversation, you thought.
Caversham House was beautiful. Everywhere you looked was picture-perfect â from the balcony overlooking the river to the four-story high waterfall framing the immaculate gardens, not to mention the painstakingly placed candles and floral arrangements hanging in every room. It was spectacular, tastefully extravagant and definitely worth the twelve-month wait.
The rehearsal dinner was strictly wedding party and parents only; everyone would have to wait until tomorrow to witness the event of the decade. Blake was the first person to come up and greet you, having only seen you a couple hours before when youâd arrived at the villas nearby. Michael was closely following behind with his wide smile; always making you feel loved, regardless of what had happened between you and his best friend.
âItâs really good to see you. Been too long, ey?â He asked, the pained inflection on his voice making you pout before you were ushered away by one of the other bridesmaids, promising him that youâd meet him at the bar for a drink later.
He was easy to pick out a crowd. The one who shall not be named; who had broken your heart into a million tiny pieces; who left you with nothing but an empty promise that maybe, one day he would find his way back to you. Utter bullshit.
He was standing with Sarah and her parents who practically raised you, chilled beer in his hand, smiles on their faces and loud laughs rousing the flock of ducks floating across the pond behind them. That fucking smile made you sick because itâs what landed you with said broken heart. Stunned in place, unable to process seeing him again after so long. It had only been six months but it felt like a lifetime without him â and without that stupidly infectious smile.
Daniel was the first to notice you walking over; truth be told, heâd been looking for you the second he stepped out of his hire car twenty minutes ago. Subtle scans of the garden and beyond, peeks over the balcony he was standing on, hoping to see you. He ached thinking about this moment, even last night in his hotel in Perth he thought about you â and whether you would speak to him, or even glance his way. You would have to, right? He was the best man and you were the maid of honour. Surely.
âHi guys,â You smiled, confidence summoned out of nowhere, surprising yourself. Sarahâs parents were quick to pull you into a cuddle, claiming that you were too cool and way too busy for them these days, which the latter was true. You felt guilty but also knew they understood. They appreciated the little moments like this where they could get their whole family together again and you felt lucky to be a small part of that.
âWe were just talking to Daniel about the season starting in a few weeks â are you going to be at the first race, love?â Sarahâs mum asked, and you hadnât even registered that she was talking to you, assuming that everyone knew by now that you and Daniel had broken up.
Her question, albeit innocent, felt like a punch to the gut â one of the many painful reminder of how interconnected your life together had been for so many years. She wasn't the last person that weekend to remind you of what you'd lost, opening old wounds over and over.
âActually Mum, I should go and find Blake and get started â your seats are over hereâŠâ Sarah was quick to jump into action, ushering her parents over to their table and leaving you and Daniel alone for what felt like the longest minute of your life.
He looked nervous but happy to see you. He looked jetlagged like you, and the way his frazzled curls fell onto his face indicated that the humidity had gotten to him already, the obscene summer heat doing the same to you. The small smile tugging on the sides of his mouth eased you, the quiet whistle he made also allowed you to relax. He was good at filling in uncomfortable silences â you, not so much.
âSoâŠâ You drawled, pondered out loud trying to fill the void, âKeeping well?â
Daniel stopped whistling and stifled a laugh at your seemingly innocuous question, âReally?â
âWell, what do you want me to say?â You sharply shot back, chuckling at his judgement, âGreat to see you? Howâs the family? LikeâŠâ
Daniel shuffled his feet on the pavement and looked up at the darkening sky above, âNo, youâre right â Iâm sorry. Itâs just⊠so fucking weird seeing you after â after everything that happened in Austin,â He leaned forward and whispered, eyes boring into yours as he spoke.
You gave him a small nod, hard features softening the longer you held his stare. You always felt safe in those eyes but right now, you couldnât let yourself get lost in them like you usually would. Daniel could sense your vulnerability and averted his gaze to his sneakers, saving you both from the heartache.
âI know but I donât want to stress them out,â You looked over at Sarah and Blake who were speaking with their MC, âSo letâs keep our distance and get through the weekend without any drama, please?â
Daniel frowned at your suggestion, wanting the complete opposite of distance but he knew he had no right to fight you on it âSure...â He settled, a pang of disappointment shooting through his chest, âI can do that.â
âGreat.â
You turned on your heel and set your sights on the job at hand. It was no mean feat being the maid of honour to someone as capricious as Sarah but she was glowingly in love; blissful compared to a week ago when she called you in the middle of the night crying, thinking that sheâd forgotten to book a DJ. Of course you reassured her and sent her the wedding itinerary for the hundredth time that week, easing her nerves like only a best friend could.
And Daniel was in the same predicament, moving around the room wrangling groomsmen into their agreed upon seating arrangement. All of this ensuing chaos hidden behind your respective smiles and you knew then that at some point you would have to join forces; like you did when you were together. Five years of being the dream team.
âWhy did they decide to have a million people in their wedding party?â You whispered once everyone was seated; now waiting for the bride and groom to make their entrance.
Daniel chuckled as he shuffled closer to you, the cologne youâd bought him for his birthday years ago filling your nostrils. It warmed your heart to know that he was still wearing it after the break up, no doubt that it reminded him of you every time he put it on. So many memories tied up in the smell of that cologne.
âMakes no sense to me but Iâm proud of you for not slapping Izzy when she refused to sit next to Mark,â Daniel whispered causing a stifled laugh to slip from your smirking lips, âYou did good, chook.â
Your nickname fell from his lips too easily, too familiar and your eyes rolled involuntarily. Of course heâd call you that, pushing the boundaries because there had never been a moment in the time that youâd known Daniel where he wouldnât step over a blurred line. Hell, thatâs how it started with him â a drunken night out and breakfast the next morning. He was nothing if not persistent and loved that once upon a time. But for now, you both had to be laser focused on the people who had found each other because of the two of you â a blind date turned into happily ever after.
âYou did good too.â
You stayed true to your word and got a drink with Michael once the rehearsal was over â taking full advantage of the complimentary drinks being served by the luxurious resort you were all staying at. As you caught up with Michael, you couldnât help but scan around the ballroom, unable to fathom how picturesque this place was in real life. It was heaven on earth.
Months ago, you found out that Daniel had been the one to suggest the venue after Blake and Sarahâs original plans fell through during the pandemic and the days following that revelation were tough. Crying yourself to sleep kind of tough. Caversham House had been written in your dream journal since yours and Danielâs third anniversary â you remembered his words like they were said yesterday.
âMy cousin got married at this amazing mansion in Swan Valley last year. One of the most beautiful places in the worldâŠâ
It was a throw away comment; an observation that Daniel may not have even realised struck you so much. But you went home that night and googled it; concluding that if Daniel ever proposed and you got to plan your wedding, Caversham House would be the place you would marry the love of your life. You never voiced that to Daniel and sadly, that day never came.
But years later here you were, watching your best friend living out your dream and you couldnât have been happier for her â for them. Daniel had missed his chance, thrown it all away for god knows what and you couldnât help but feel your blood starting to boil as he approached you and Michael sitting at the bar, your memories like little daggers sharpening in your mind.
âHope Iâm not interrupting,â Daniel tentatively asked, a fresh beer in hand and a sheepish smile on his face. He knew he was.
âNah mate. Pull up a seat if you want,â Michael replied and tugged out the stool beside him but Daniel glanced down at you with wide eyes, seeking permission before taking up Michaels offer.
âJoin us.â
It was subtle but you could see Daniel exhale a sigh of relief, you knew him better than anyone. You could see the weight lifting from his shoulders as he sat across from you, trying to temper his joy that you'd agreed to have him anywhere near you.
And in typical Daniel fashion, he slotted into the group seamlessly, never an awkward pause of silence or a lull in conversation whenever he was around. He was the social butterfly, the one everyone loved and you were always content with that when you were together. After the split, it became obvious how much everyone loved him and you lost touch with most of your mutual friends â Michael included.
It was a bitter pill to swallow and you resented him in the beginning but watching him talk, crack the odd joke here and there you could understand why. Like Sarah had noted in her room earlier, he was the whole package but he broke your heart. And he regretted that every second of every day. Heâd tried so hard to forget the way you smiled, the way you giggled softly, trying to suppress the real laugh that only he ever got to hear. You were glowing under the lights, hair swirling around in the evening breeze and Daniel couldnât take his eyes off you.
The grimace on his face when you caught him made you smile, eyes narrowed with suspicion as he shrugged and mouthed, Iâm sorry. You mirrored his shrug and took a sip of the glass of white wine heâd gotten you when he got up to get himself a drink. Truth be told, you couldn't keep your eyes of him either.
Before you knew it, the two of you were sitting alone â Michael made up some story that he needed to speak with Blake and that he would be back but he never returned. And you hadnât really even noticed his absence until your phone buzzed on the table between you and Daniel.
â⊠But being back on the farm over the break was nice â the kids asked where you were and said that they missed you a bunch of times.â
Daniel noticed the way you looked at your phone. The small smile followed by the lip bite gave you away and he couldnât ignore the way his stomach dropped, knowing that expression all too well. It was one heâd been on the receiving end of so many times. You flipped your phone over, screen down and returned to your conversation with apologetic eyes, âSorry, what did you say? Something about the farm?â
âOh, it doesnât matter,â Daniel smiled and nodded towards your phone, âAnswer him if you need to.â
You were slightly caught of guard, naively thinking youâd kept your cards close to you chest. Or maybe you had and Daniel was baiting to see if youâd admit that you were talking to someone new, finally moving on after six months. He was hard to read but he knew you better than anyone and you hated the way he was watching you, waiting for a response.
âNah, all good. Itâs not a serious thing,â You stupidly confessed, internally face palming as the words slipped from your loose lips.
âBut it is a thing?â Daniel was quick to enquire, selfishly wanting to know whether or not you had moved on, if he'd missed his chance.
âForget I said anything, please,â You swiftly replied, taking a gulp of wine and wilfully hoping he would drop it. He didnât want to but he could see the warning in your stern gaze, silently begging him not to interrogate you over this, not here.
âI just want you to be happy.â Daniel landed on; honest eyes boring into yours as he clasped his hands together and sighed loudly into the cool air.Â
âI was happy with you and then you threw it away like it meant nothing to you,â You breathed, hands expressively falling to your sides and busying your fingertips on the hem of your dress.
âYou mean â meant more to me than anything. I just⊠woke up one day and realised that you deserved better; more than what I could give you being away for months on end,â He quietly replied, the words feeling dry as he explained why heâd cut you lose and broke your heart.
The scoff erupting in your throat caught Danielâs attention, âDonât you think I shouldâve been the person deciding that, not you?â
âOf course but in the moment it felt like the right thing to do and I fucked up⊠I really, really screwed it up, chook. Do you ever thinkââ
Suddenly, you heard your name being shouted from across the lawn, both you and Daniel snapping your heads around to see Sarah waving her arms like a maniac trying to get your attention, âTime for bed, guys! Early start tomorrow."
Neither or you wanted to end the conversation there, on a cliffhanger because simply being close to each other again fuelled something internally that you couldnât quite put your finger on. He gave you strength whenever he was near and you gave him solace, a sense of calm that nobody else could ever replicate. And tearing yourselves away from that was hard, so much so that a stand off had begun.
âAfter you,â Daniel motioned with a smirk, reading you like a book.
âYou just want me to go first so you can check out my arse in this dress,â You teased and poked his shoulder, âPervert.â
âAbsolute tickets but honestly, yeahâŠâ He winked as you stood up and smoothed out the dress that had ridden up slightly, his eyes shamelessly scanning your outfit, âUnbelievable.â
A blush crept up your neck as his words washed over you but you couldnât let him see that, âGoodnight, Daniel.â You said, turning on your heel and fleeing the scene as quickly as you could, but not without a little strut as you walked away.
Daniel exhaled deeply and watched you until you were out of his sight, not even noticing the dip in the couch he was sitting on.
âPut your tongue back in ya mouth and go to bed.â
Michael had caught him red handed and now it was hit turn to furiously blush. He was down bad and had no idea how he was supposed to sleep, knowing you were a couple of villas down, thinking about him, thinking about you. He missed you in so many ways, the obvious ones now being the ones on his mind as he lay in bed, fingers trawling through his hair as he tried to think of anything else but you. What eventually lulled him to sleep was the promise of tomorrow â a new beginning.
After a couple of hours of complete and utter panic, the weather had finally decided to put on a show for the newlyweds. The clouds that had dampened the morning vanished as soon as the fleet of vintage cars rolled up the stoned driveway, arriving fashionably late. You had done your best to calm Sarah but she was already teary, eyes blinking rapidly in attempt to control the tears threatening to ruin her make up. Just breathe, youâd whispered as her sister made her way down the carpeted aisle, sun shinning down on the gorgeous archway at the top of the stairs.
âLetâs go and get you married to the man of your dreams, hey?â
That was all you needed to say before Sarah nodded and pushed you towards the open doors, one last wink giving you the reassurance that she would be right behind you. The ceremony was beautiful; there were many tears and laughter rumbling through the large crowd when Blake made a joke about her being stuck with him for the rest of her life. Everything else flew by in the blink of an eye and before you knew it, Daniel was reaching out for your hand, clasping it gently in his as he guided you down the stairs and out to the balcony where the photos were going to be taken before joining the reception.
âChampagne?â Daniel asked you, flute already locked and loaded in his hand â he knew you couldnât resist a glass of bubbly, not after such a stressful morning.
âPlease and thank you,â You sighed, taking a sip and glancing over at the happy couple who had already started doing photos together.
âCanât believe itâs actually happened.â
Daniel followed your eye line and smiled, âWho knew 4 years ago when we set them up that weâd end up hereâŠâ He pondered out loud and you agreed, you never wouldâve guessed it, "It's amazing."
âI said it back then and I stand by it now; we should be professional match-makers. Weâre literally 1 for 1 right now,â You enthused, reflecting Danielâs grin.
âOh, weâre fucking killing it. Alright, letâs seeâŠâ He trailed off and looked around the balcony at the other groomsmen and bridesmaids making small talk, âWhat about big Mike? Been single for a while now and way too obsessed with my shit so getting him laid would benefit me too⊠Izzyâs single, right?â
âShe is!â You whispered a little too enthusiastically that Daniel jumped back and laughed, âBut sheâs a commitment girl so I donât think a hit it and quit it vibe or his travelling would be a good match. Marcia is a bit rogue⊠definitely single and down for anything, I reckon... Ooo, this is too much fun!â
Daniel chuckled and soaked in your excitement â it had been so long since heâd seen you smile like that, so free and uninhibited. Like his simple existence wasnât sucking the life out of you and wasnât making you miserable for the first time in over a year. He felt guilty taking so much emotionally from you, the toll of his work effecting both of you in the end. He hadnât said it out loud but he knew that his mental health was having a detrimental effect on you but you loved him. Loved him with every cell in your body and you would never have given up on him. And little did he know, you still hadnât after all this time.
âYou are so beautiful.â
Danielâs words surprised you and there was a second of silence before he doubled down with a soft laugh, âLike, breathtakingly beautiful.â
What you did next startled Daniel. Your hand brushed over the buttons on his light blue jacket, fingertips gently readjusting the small flower arrangement pinned on the lapel as you took in his compliment. Youâd be lying if you said it didnât ignite a spark within, a small flutter of your heart making you blush as he reached out and grasped your hips in his warm hands. The silk was soft under his palms, barely even a second passed before you melted into his touch, wishing for more than a friendly exchange. Â
âThank you,â You whispered, eyes flickering up through your thick eyelashes â his brown ones gleaming with joy as you trailed your hands down his chest and gave him a soft push towards the photographers standing behind him, âGet that million dollar smile ready, Ricciardo because I think weâre being summoned.â
He continued to seek you out for the rest of the night, hypnotised by the smell of your perfume and the softness of your touches; the latter caused by the couple of glasses of wine youâd consumed.
Daniel loved it when you were a tiny bit tipsy. He loved the little giggles that you gifted him and the way you hung onto him just that little bit longer. The memories of the two of you stumbling down the footpath outside your home together last summer, barely making it up the stairs and through the door came flooding back when you whispered in his ear, âYou are so bloody handsome.â
âExcuse me?â He chuckled; hand sprawled over the small of your back as he placed his jacket over your shoulders, âYou heard me,â You shot back, smirk plastered across your face as you grasped his hand. âCome dance with me.â
Daniel had been waiting for you to ask, praying youâd be the one to drag him out onto the dance floor. You knew what you wanted and you didnât hesitate throwing your arms over his shoulders, forcing his hands to snake down yours sides and grasp your swaying hips. The floor was packed with people dancing along to the DJ who was mainly spinning 90s R&B â a personal favourite of yours and the bride.
Daniel was in heaven as your bodies moved together in perfect rhythm, the music transporting you back to the first time you met â the night when your life changed in the blink of an eye. He knew to savour it, never taking your intimacy for granted because he knew that you were hurting more than him, and you had every right to be. But in that moment, as he looked down into your glossy eyes, he saw the woman he fell in love with â the one he loved more than anything in the entire world. His girl.
You were barely inches apart when he leaned down and kissed you; lips ghosting before taking what they wanted, what they craved. Even though it was Daniel making the first move, you were going to if he didn't soon and the smile erupting on your face when he pulled back reassured him that heâd made the right call. Cutting the tension with a knife and making your blush under the thick layer of makeup that hadnât budged all day.
There was a short pause as you stared at each other, unsure whether you were fully on the same page or not but Daniel didnât want to wait any longer. Heâd waited nearly six months to be with you, to touch you; to taste you.
âDo you wannaâŠ?â
âYes!â You hastily replied, making Daniel chuckle before he wrapped his arm around your waist and guided you off the dance floor and away from the loud music; both of you wildly aroused and tingling with anticipation.
The mansion where the reception was being held was enormous. Guest bedroom after guest bedroom lined the hallways so you were a little shocked when you were pulled into a bathroom at the end of the passageway. It was massive, bigger than your kitchen back home and the sconces hanging from the dark walls looked nearly 100 years old, barely emitting any light. It was definitely setting a mood and you weren't complaining at all.
âThereâs locks on the bathrooms but not the bedrooms,â Daniel explained, sensing your surprise at his choice of location. You nodded and reached out for him, already missing the way his body felt on yours as he pinned you against the tiled wall, heat radiating down your spine as he feverishly kissed you again.
âYouâve done me in dirtier places,â You moaned and he chuckled against your neck, lips travelling across your collarbone and between your perky breasts.
The fire that had been smouldering in the pit of your stomach all night was being stoked by his firm touch, every trace of a fingertip or rough tug on your sensitive skin making you whimper with excitement. You needed him to fuck you good.
âIâd do you anywhere, honey.â
You hummed and roughly grappled Danielâs curls between your fingers as he dipped down further and grasped the hem of your dress. A small shrug was enough to let the thick suit jacket he had given you fall to the ground, goose bumps erupting all over your arms as he left a trail of sloppy kisses up your thighs; stopping right where you wanted him and letting the flowy material of your dress drape over his head, disappearing from your sight. He knew your body like the back of his hand and knew you loved nothing more than his warm breath fanning between your thighs, glistening all for him.
âI want you to fuck me against this mirror,â You strongly suggested through batted eyelashes as he returned into view, a smirk painted on the supple lips that were seconds away from devouring you.
âDonât want my tongue?â Daniel cheekily asked, still crouched down and gazing up at you with those big brown eyes, waiting for your response. âMaybe later,â You whispered, watching as he jumped up with a grin, eager to fulfil whatever you desired.
âHands up where I can see them, maâam,â Daniel playfully ordered and you played along, holding your hands up in the air as he spun you around so you were facing the dark mirror. You could feel yourself soaking through your flimsy panties and if you could feel it, Daniel definitely could as he slid his hand into the lace, cupping you gently and stroking a single finger through your folds.
âSpread âem,â He whispered into your ear before pressing a firm to your temple and kicking your heeled feet apart.
Your hands were gripping the sink in front of you; white knuckling already but knowing that this wasnât anything compared to what Daniel could do to you. He once had you bucking on his thigh like it was the last orgasm you were ever going to have, screaming in pleasure like you were being tortured. And now, all you could think about was his hard dick pressing against your backside, taunting you under the thick material of his trousers.
âDanny,â You quietly moaned through gritted teeth and Daniel knew what that moan meant, not wasting a second before unbuckling his belt and pushing his pants down to his ankles. He did the same with your underwear, except he bent all the way down to rid you of them so he could keep them in his discarded jacket pocket for safekeeping.
âIâm gonna need those back, sir.â
âNah, I wouldnât think so,â Daniel teased, standing back up straight and catching your eyes in the reflection in front of him.
âGotta be quiet for me, okay?â He sweetly whispered, tongue swiping across the shell of your ear as he teased your hole with his soft tip, the feeling of your excitement mingling together making your shiver, âAlready feels so good.â
You hummed as Daniel nudged forward, his thickness took your breath away as you closed your eyes and leaned over the sink a little more; taking all of him, inch by inch. He could feel how tight you were, trying to not let his mind wander to whether youâd been fucked by anyone else since the break up. Because if you had, he knew it wasnât anything compared to how good he could do you with the way you were already choking back moans. Whimpering for more.
âRelax for me, honey. The clenching feels crazy fuckinâ good for me but I need you to just take me nice and slow,â Daniel coached, smoothing his palms over your hips and slowly rocking you back and forth against him, âGod, your arse really is something else,â He rasped, lightly tapping your rump as you looked up at him in the mirror, narrowed eyes sending him a stern warning.
âDonât even think about it and donât try the whole âoh, I accidently slippedâ trick because I know you,â You playfully scowled, trying to hide the smirk tugging on the corners of your lips.
Daniel tipped his head back and cackled at you calling him out, revelling in the banter and the fact you knew him inside and out. Heâd missed being called out on his shit and he loved nothing more than when you teased him during sex, the laughter ringing off the walls while he watched himself disappear into you.
âYouâre tight enough already, baby so no shenanigans tonight,â Daniel groaned and jutted his hips forward, jolting you closer to the mirror in the process. He readjusted his tight grip on the satin dress that he'd bunched up around your hips and caught your gaze in the reflection again, âI bet old mate texting you last night couldnât fuck you like this, ey?â
âNever gave him the chance,â You panted in reply, eyes trained on Danielâs as he pounded into you, thighs trembling in pleasure as he stalked you, every little wince or twitch never went unnoticed and you felt hot under his gaze, his hot breath and soft groans fanning into your ear.
âGood. No man deserves you, honey â not even me.â
The little burst of confidence his words gave you spurred you on as you bounced back and met his hips with a slap, quickening the pace and really pushing the limits on how loud you could be in such a public setting. Your voice was coarse and your knees were quivering as Daniel trailed his hands up to your chest, boobs practically spilling out of the satin dress as he bucked into you. He gently pulled down the loose fabric, along with the lacy bra and cupped your breasts in his hands, using them as leverage as he fucked into you. Proudly watching his work unfold in front of him.
The feeling of his rough palms massaging your breasts was enough to cause a loud, pornographic moan to rip from your throat â one that couldâve been heard for miles. One of Danielâs hands shot up and covered your mouth in an attempt to keep you as quiet as he could while got you off, wanting nothing more than having come undone around his stiff cock.
âLook at how damn sexy you are right now,â Daniel grumbled, eyes trained on yours so intensely. You nodded and moaned into his palm, feeling like your souls were re-connecting as he slowed down the pace and relished the feeling of you wrapped around him, bouncing on that dick so perfectly. He was in paradise.
Until the handle on the bathroom door started jiggling beside you, the loud bang that followed made both you both jump out of your perspiring skin. Danielâs hand lingered over your mouth, his dick stilled inside you as the handle rattled again â more aggressively this time. The person on the other side didnât say anything; the only sound swirling around the humid air was bated breath, both of you winded from the adrenaline. And from how exciting it felt nearly being caught with him filling you to the brim.
âFuck,â Daniel whispered as he looked up at you and dipped his head into the crook of your neck, âDo you wanna keep going?â
The deviant side of your brain was screaming hell yes but the rational voice that kept you level headed was telling you to hit the pause button. It was risky enough doing the deed so publicly, something that you and Daniel never shied away from but right now, when you were both supposed to be at the beck and call of your best friends at their wedding; it all seemed a little bit decadent.
âWe should get back,â You whispered, confirming what Daniel already assumed as he slowly pulled out and strategically manoeuvred his semi hard dick into the waistband of his underwear, attempting to hide how hard he still was in those deliciously tight pants.
âGood call⊠but uh, that was fun,â He stuttered and watched you smooth out your dress, his gaze burning a hole in the back of your head as you looked in the mirror and gently wiped under your eyes; removing any signs that youâd just been fucking your ex in a bathroom.
âReally fun,â You replied, wicked smile lining your smudged lips as Daniel stepped forward and helped you back into his suit jacket.
âWe should do it again some timeâŠâ
âAbsolutely â when were you thinking?â
âOh, I dunnoâŠâ He pondered with a cunning smirk, âMaybe like, now?â
You chewed your bottom lip between your front teeth and sighed; you loved that he wanted you as much as you wanted him, both dying to finish what you started and maybe indulge in even more bad behaviour. It was like old times but different - good different.
âIâm staying in the Cliffside suite so⊠meet you there in halfa?â
Daniel clapped his hands enthusiastically and rubbed them together, âSounds like a great fucking plan to me,â He agreed, grinning big and gently pushing you towards the door he was opening for you, looking both ways down the hallway.
âYou go first so I can watch you walk away from me in that dress,â Daniel quietly teased as you sashayed down the hallway and back to where the reception was still going strong, âYou are killing me!â
âI know!â You shouted back, flipping him the middle finger before spotting Sarah on the dance floor, eyes suspiciously narrowed as you shimmied over to her, smiling like the cat that got the cream.
âWhere did you get to?!â She yelled over the music, definitely on her way to being drunk from the flutes of champagne that were still being served by the gallon.
âJust needed to freshen up!â You shouted back and looked over your shoulder at Daniel who had joined a conversation near the bar.
There was a giddy feeling that washed over you after you turned back to Sarah and listened to her ramble about how good the music was and how much fun she was having. It was a familiar feeling; the same one you had the night you met Daniel all those years ago. But now, in his home state, surrounded by so many people you loved, you had both been gifted the rare chance to start over.
To fall in love all over again. This was your second chance at a happily ever after.
a//n â thank you for all the support and patience on this one!
