why do we like. only care about wemmbu's trauma when she loses someone? people really only ever talk about how zam and mane betrayed her, eggchan left, or how rejoice died. dont you think that's a little, i dunno, shallow? how we only talk about her trauma when it involves someone else? why don't we talk about how traumatizing it is to be dehumanized, to be dumbed down to a weapon of war? s1 finale and all of her season 2, is just her being a weapon. because that is what has been drilled into her head.
i've said this SO many times, but this fandom (a majority of it, at least) NEEDS to have things shoved in their faces or else they don't understand- especially when it regards wemmbu. like- literally what im talking about! if it doesn't involve anyone else stating or implying what they will do/are doing (zam with betraying, mane with leaving, rejoice literally dying in front of wemmbu, and eggchan explicitly leaving), then you guys don't get it. i've talked about how wemmbu gets dehumanized, but a lot you. don't seem to understand that that ISN'T a good thing! she's a soldier, since the start of the server, and you're blaming HER for thinking she's only useful as a killer? everyone around her has encouraged that! zam, mane, parrot, spoke, egg- every person she's ever fought!
dehumanization is, like, not a good thing. we can make jokes about it, but i think we should genuinely talks about how the whole "being a weapon" mindset affects wemmbu. she fights, even when she doesn't want to (taking up the final offer to fight clown in the finale, fighting the pirates because egg told her to, fighting theo because he was doing everything in his power to get her to fight him)- because the people who ask that of her only see her as a weapon.
she doesn't WANT to fight, but she has no other purpose on this server- at least, to the eyes of the people. and if everyone around you doesn't find you useful without this ONE TRAIT, then who are you to get rid of it? egg's departuring words to her are about how she should "go back to being the ruthless killer she was". not even her pacifistic best friend since before the server even started sees her as anything but a tool. and they know her best, right? better than herself even.
and that's why wemmbu fights. because she's been groomed into believing that's all she's good for.
