Ryuji knows how to fluently speak german. He began studying it at the age of twelve years old. it was because his mother fell in love with a tv show but couldn’t understand it. the tv program didn’t have subtitles for her to read, so he asked her to enroll him into a learning center where he could learn it. At first he hated it because

one: he’s not one to actually commit in staying in school. two: learning a whole new language was a giant step for him.

But he pushed back those negative thoughts and only thought of his mother throughout his time learning. By the time he was thirteen, he could speak german like a natural. his favorite part of learning the language was the swear words. He’s been watching and translating the show for his mother . . . even if the show was out of his forte.
