Been writing a book and making a vidya game

I started writing a novel near the end of June last year and I'm at a little over 66k words, about 180 pages(if formatted as a MMPB) and I'm aiming for somewhere between 250k - 300k. The elevator pitch:

"A roadtrip in space with a runaway robot and a tamagotchi's surrogate mom."

Here's sketches of the surrogate mom(Amity) and the digimon-like dino the tamagotchi(Baby) will eventually hatch into:

I haven't done any decent sketches of the runaway robot(Loewan) just yet, but I'll post them when I do. And this February I started using GameMaker to make a tie-in platformer that takes place within the Tamagochi shortly before it hatches. I'll eventually finish animation gifs for all the sprites I've been making, but for now here's an idle animation of Baby:

Shortly after my grandma passed near the end of 2024, mtg Foundations dropped. That set included a brand spanking new Alesha so I updated the fuck out of my Mardu Trans Warriors deck. I included Ivora because it's a reanimator deck so I hell yes new warrior discard outlet, but I didn't think that any of the the blood tokens that existed fit my theme. So I made this bloodied sword.

And because gma was obviously on my mind, and since the newest Alesha was an old queer, much older than trans people are depicted in anything, I was feeling the connections with transness and age and death. So to honor my grandma, I painted strawberries (her favorite fruit, and the strawberry smoothies my partner would make were one of the few foods I could get her to eat near the end), and Blues Clues on the guard. (my grandma's car was generic lookin af and was hard to find in parking lots, so when my sibling and I were wee childs, we got her a Blues Clues plush to put in her rear window, so her car would be easier to discern between the other boring ass cars. My grandma gave me many hours of driving practice in that car and helped me get my license in 2021, which was real necessary once lockdown was over but the pandemic wasn't, so bussing wasn't as healthy an option anymore)

I wish the strawberries came out clearer tho.

Was this card supposed to be a Legendary creature, specifically Kadrik?

I've seen people on Reddit already commenting on the error of there being a legendary crown on the showcase art for this card. And frankly this landfall ability seems pretty strong for a non-legendary 2 drop.

Also the regular card art is the cover image for Kadrik's side story:

I think this might be a last minute change before going to print, like with Nadu. Genemorph Imago might have been a legendary creature, "Gadrik, Genemorph Imago," and someone in development decided that there were too many legends or not enough non-legendary rares and ordered the change of the name and type of this card. And whoever was in charge of the card's layouts didn't change the frame on the showcase art.

Illo/sketch to be transferred over to the energy card, a Christmas gift! One of my friend's favorite pokemon is Tangula, and one of mine is Phantump, and he has a few decks that run grass energy. Also I figure altering an energy card would be a safer bet than arguing some poke, cause the pokes will cycle out eventually, where the energy's are always needed for a deck.

I have a Vivian, Monsters Advocate beast themed oathbreakers deck, and this is one of three arts I wanna make for the tokens she generates. This one is for a beast with a reach counter, and I still gotta decide on a sketch for the vigilance and trample beasties.

I frankly don't play oathbreaker v often, so finishing this series might take me a while.

Bleeding Lotus

Initially this was just the blood and the lotus but it felt like something was missing. The lizard is my closest approximation of the horned lizards that can shoot blood out of their eyes as a defense mechanism. Freaky lil guys.

I've been practicing altering magic cards on some old treasure token, which has now become a series of Lotuses, cause magic.
