Writing is weird.
One minute you’re writing character interactions and the next you’re researching the social habits of ravens, which is shortly followed by planning out a new subplot you just came up with in the spur of the moment.
I love it.

Reblogging because wow. What a resource.
“I can’t breathe,”
said the man on the ground,
with a knee on his neck
and his hands tightly bound.
“I don’t care,”
said the man on his neck,
who was willing to murder
all for a false cheque.
“I don’t care,”
said the man in power,
who called black people thugs
and turned protesters sour.
“l don’t care,”
said the nation’s police,
using bullets and tear gas
to “keep the peace”.
Now they care
But they didn’t before.
They said, “All Lives Matter!”
And they chose to ignore.
So, why are you shocked? It’s not a surprise.
It takes a whole murder to open your eyes?
We have battled for years and still have not won.
You thought it was over—it’s barely begun.
Pride month starts tomorrow so I just want to remind you that if you don't support BLM and are complaining about 'riots' you are not allowed to celebrate pride month! The birth of pride was the Stonewall RIOTS, rebellion against police violence by black and brown women. There is no gay liberation without black lives. There is no trans liberation without black lives.
sometimes i just get obsessed with how lonely humans are, as a species. we see faces everywhere. we have stories about beings living in the things of our world that go back as long as we’ve been telling stories. we’ve been sending our songs and dances up to the sky for millennia, and when we figured out there was something beyond our sky, we started sending songs out there too. we tell each other about fairies and bigfoots and worlds lying under the skin of our own. we name robots and look for personality in code. we tamed dogs to have friends to hang out with and we dream about aliens. we see life everywhere. what is it, exactly, that we’re trying to replace? what left us alone in the first place?
if i ever publish a novel and it becomes a bestseller (with like a decent or large fanfom) there is a 200% chance that i will:
read headcanons about my characters
own a headcanons blog
like & comment on fanfic
read fanfiction about my ships
comment on said fanfiction
write my own fanfiction (AUs)
rip to other authors but i’m different

DO NOT JUST LIKE THIS AND KEEP SCROLLING FUCKING REBLOG THIS
script from @bluecollarbabe1 on instagram. even if you can't protest, you can still be heard. use your voice. do something.
TEXT:
To whom it may concern:
I am writing you about the murder of George Floyd by MPD officers Derek Chauvin, Thomas Lane, J. Alexander Kueng, and Tou Thao. These men were not upholding the law, they were committing murder and terrorizing their community. Being fired is not an appropriate response to the crime. All officers must be charged with murder.
We cannot continue this way. This is not the way forward. Use your station and power for change; for good. Give a voice to the smothered. Prove that all lives matter. Do your job.
When the streets clear and the ashes fade, George Floyd will not be forgotten. The events transpiring may very well be plastered into history books. The world is watching. My generation will not fail to tell our children exactly what happened. Your actions now will cement how you are remembered. If you stand up and act, you will be remembered for your bravery, choosing to enact justice. If not, history will sneer at your cowardice. The choice is yours.

hot take but black lives should matter every second of every fucking day. not when they are shot dead, not when they are wrongfully prosecuted, not when it looks good on your social media. the reason why i’m posting this is because i need y’all to know that if you support cops, if you’re behind “all lives matter”, if you try to compare your struggles as a poc to the struggles of black people then you need to hard fucking block.
also, i hate that this needs to be stated, but there are lots of children, Black children, who use the internet, and it's irresponsible to have videos of brutality and death passed around casually where they can be exposed to it. they don't deserve that trauma, they inherit enough as it is.
so direct action is not an option available to you. what can you do right now instead?
Be mindful of the content you’re putting on your social media accounts. Stop retweeting/reposting violent images and videos of black people dying. Know that content like this, even with trigger warnings included, can be very emotionally disturbing/distressing and yes, even traumatic, for black people navigating the internet right now.
Report any images and videos you see where protestors’ faces are visible/unblurred, particularly in content surrounding the lootings. Don’t retweet or repost these images and videos. This can be a death sentence.
