I sure seemed to pick a popular town to visit.
New people seem to pop up daily, or maybe I just don’t get out enough.
Yes. Maybe.
Hello, Sam.
This place isn't nearly as lurid as I'd pictured.
Awwh, thankyou. As are you.
Uhm, I don’t think I’ve met a Dean Or Sam, but I’ll keep my eye out for you.
Gee, I'm blushing.
Thanks, erm, again. That means a lot.
This place isn't nearly as lurid as I'd pictured.
Your welcome Skye. Oh, there’s also Miss Mystic Falls Pagents. I’m thinking of entering the next one. I never asked, what are you doing in Mystic Falls anyway?
I think you'd have a good chance of winning. You're very pretty.
Um. I'm looking for my friends, Sam and Dean.
This place isn't nearly as lurid as I'd pictured.
Well to be honest with you, I don’t know all that much about Mystic Falls either. I know we have many founders day balls, I do know that the first one was in 1864.
That's very useful. Thanks much, Aria.
This place isn't nearly as lurid as I'd pictured.
Your welcome Skye.
I guess it would be. -Smiles- It would be like hey I’m Nobody. -Throws hands in the air- A few hours? Wow, so you don’t know much about Mystic Falls I take it.
[She laughs briefly.] Yes! Exactly. Oh, no. Not much at all. Would you care to fill me in?
New Faces | Daniel and Skye
Daniel shrugged his shoulders simply once Skye had thanked him. It wasn’t such a big deal, really. Regardless, he smiled softly and walked in front of her. “I’d worry you had head trauma if you didn’t remember the way here.” The male was teasing of course. Chuckling he moved towards the booth he had pointed out earlier. Once he slid into the booth, his own brown eyes observed the area. Packed, as always. That was a given, though. Since when wasn’t the Mystic Grill packed? Even towards closing time, it was highly unlikely to see it empty. That’s something the brown-eyed werewolf liked. It gave him plenty of opportunities to meet people and possibly try to make new friends— since it seemed he wasn’t as known around here as he thought.
He remembered when this place was first built and how it used to pretty much be nothing but a small little hangout for the teenagers and husbands escaping their wives. It was quite a sight to see how things progressed through time. Especially if you lived through it all. He was drawn out of his reverie by the sound of the blonde’s voice. Slapping his hands down against the table in a drumming motion, he chuckled. “Classy? This is far from classy, but whatever floats your boat, Sunshine.” He cracked a lop-sided grin at her, his eyes finally settling on her. “So, do you want anything from here or should we initiate the friendship making?”
"It looks classy," Skye mumbled to the table-top. Her lips pursed in thought, and all that came out in response was, "Um." She wasn't hungry; she didn't want anything to eat. Nor did she wish to socialize with the ‘people’ here. Her gaze wandered over to the other side of the diner. She paused. "Be right back," she said, sliding out of the booth. With quick steps, she advanced over towards the counter and took two kids' menus. "Pardon." The lady behind the counter popped her bubble gum. "Crayons?" Skye held out her hand, looking doe-eyed at the worker. Two red crayons and two blue ones were placed in her hand. "Thanks much." She made her way back to the booth, smiling childishly all the while. Sliding back into the seat, she placed one menu and two crayons, one red and one blue, on Daniel's side. "...It's... um, the prices -- they're nice," she said, lamely, as her excuse, even though she wasn't going to get anything.
She picked up a blue crayon and began filling out the crossword puzzle. “Hey,” the word popped the bubble of silence around the booth. She tilted her head up, glancing over at Daniel. “This town… it’s – it’s not like other towns, right? There are… strange things that happen here? Or strange people that are here? I mean, you said you’ve been around this town for a while; you must’ve noticed something odd.” In truth, Skye was just imagining what Dean and Sam would say, and making their words their own. Of course, she was hardly doing a good job of it.
New Faces | Daniel and Skye
Daniel couldn’t help but to crack a beaming smile at the girl. Though, that’s how he was towards a majority of the people in this town. “I would’ve been hurt if you had said no anyways.” He pulled a mock-pout, chuckling softly at Skye. She seemed like an interesting person, nonetheless. The raging awkwardness he himself shared as well and a number of things. He could already see their friendship blossoming. Yet, this male could make friends virtually out of anybody. Just, nobody would ever surpass the importance of a certain friend; Shane Kiria. That was relatively impossible.
Clapping his hands together, he quirked a brow at her. “Danny boy? Well, little miss ray of sunshine, I don’t see why I wouldn’t lead. Follow me, puppy.” He winked playfully as he strode in front of her, his gait slightly bent and yet with a hint of his own sort of confidence. “You have to be newborn-new not to know where the Mystic Grill is, but trust me.. after this you’ll know your way here.” He said, tossing a smile over his shoulder as he reached the grill. Luckily, they weren’t as far as he had originally expected. Thank God. He could spare the calories. “After you, fair lady.” Opening the door, he allowed her to strode in before he entered. “Don’t be shocked by all the people. This is the hot spot of the town.” Tapping the female on the shoulder, he nudged his head over to a booth. “Come on.”
"Gee, thanks," Skye replied shortly, a smirk tugging at her lips as the other held the door open. The smell of old-fashioned diner food hit her the moment she stepped into the place. A smile broke out on her lips as memories of the times she'd spent time with John came flooding back to her. It was nostalgic. She remembered all the crummy diners, the cheap restaurants he used to take her to. Just so that they could spend time together. A tapping on her shoulder brought her gaze back to Daniel. "I'll remember my way here," she said, absentmindedly, before looking over to the booth.
On their way over to the empty table, her eyes darted about from person to person, curiosity getting the better of her. Now that she started to pay more attention to the customers, she noticed that the people were... odd. Not in a terribly awful way. Just that... well, just that they seemed different. Strange. The town was strange. Then again, she shouldn't have expected anything less, seeing as Sam and Dean had bothered to check into it. And had been checking into it. Geez. What a crowd. Wasn't it Easter Sunday? Didn't all these folks have anything better to do than hang around some old Mystic Grill? 'You're here,' she reminded herself. 'Shut up,' she replied. After sliding into the vinyl booth, she placed her hands on the table, fingernails briefly tapping the surface. A content sigh escaped her lips. "This place," she glanced around the diner once more, "it's very... I don't know. Classy? It's nice."
New Faces | Daniel and Skye
A bubble of laughter burst from her lips at the other's words. "Friends. Great. I love making friends," she said, feigning enthusiasm. Sputter? Her brow furrowed at him. She didn't sputter. If anything, she fumbled. Yes. That was the right word. She fumbled with her words. Not with everyone, though. Just with some people. Like Daniel. Not for any reason in particular, just that he was nice. His niceness, though, Skye noted, was making her look like a fool. She grimaced inwardly at the thought.
It wasn't as though Skye purposefully made an idiot out of herself. If she was more like her oldest brother, Dean, she wouldn't have this problem. This as in being an awkward fuck around certain kinds of people. But, no. What did she get from the Winchesters? A few knife tricks. The ability to aim and shoot a gun. And mostly, she gained a great, ardent, profound adoration for rock and roll -- because that, out of all the things, was going to help her in life.
She shook her head a little, clearing out of her thoughts. Her eyes focused back on Daniel. A grin broke out on her lips, and she gestured a hand forward. "Lead the way, Danny boy."
This place isn't nearly as lurid as I'd pictured.
Indeed.
I think I’ll take the chance, freckles.
[She takes a few steps forward, rolling her eyes. Her arms wrap around the other's waist in a brief hug.] Are you melting?
This place isn't nearly as lurid as I'd pictured.
Awh thanks, people can change you know. You can. -Smiles-
I don’t know why you’d want to do that, but okay. -Laughs- Your welcome. So, how long have you been in Mystic Falls?
Oh, wow. That is very encouraging, indeed, Aria. Thanks much.
Because! Because. It'd be funny. [She pauses.] Um. How long? Around... a few hours. I just got here today.
❝I Sense New Faces❞
Better be cross your heart, Skye. [He winked, nodding his head] Ah, I guess I shouldn’t of asked. Don’t worry, I won’t pry into your reasoning, but yes I’ll tell you what I see with that. [Pauses] Mystic Grill, the most used hang out in town.. You’ll pretty much run into anyone there. I could show you, if you’d like? They food there is fantastic, you won’t regret it. Plus, if you want to see the Winchesters any time soon— there is a chance they could be there.
Sounds... nice. Fun, I meant. Yes. Fun is the word. I need to... see people anyway. [She nods briefly.] Oh, yes. Right. Definitely. I'd like to go there, if you'd join me.
This place isn't nearly as lurid as I'd pictured.
The god of beauty and desire, huh? Describes me perfectly. I may just let your awkward self get a piece of me today. I excuse your problematic human antics.
I will mend it, dear. You know what? I like you. You’re not like the other girls around here. You actually have some sort of humor and sarcasm that makes me laugh in any way but mocking. I’d hug you right now. Come here, come here.
[She feigns a smile.] Bless.
I'm honored, truly. But, alas, I am hardly worthy to bask in the glory that is you. How could I accept such an offer? I fear if my vile flesh is placed upon yours, yours will sear and burn. And we can't have that.
❝I Sense New Faces❞
I’m amusing? That is news to me.
We’ll definitely get along.. as long as you keep your tiny fingers off of my grub. That’s crossing my line. [He clears his throat, shrugging his shoulders once] Sure? I mean, I get around a lot so if I ever meet one of them I can toss it your way— [Pauses in sudden realization she had kissed him on the cheek] Uh, don’t mention it? Just doing my part of the Mystic Falls town-watch. Always got to keep your eyes peeled. Hey, have you been to the grill yet by chance?
Highly.
It won't happen. Cross my heart. [Her thoughts roll back to Sam and Dean.] It's just I haven't seen them in awhile and -- yeah. Thanks, again. Um. Yeah. [She bites down on her lip, cutting herself off. The other speaks, and she remains quiet, listening.] I can't say I have. Um. What is that?
This place isn't nearly as lurid as I'd pictured.
Oh, go ahead. In all means, I was holding back my laughter the moment you studdered at the sight of me. Completely understandable, yeah?
I have my reasons. Nothing in the range of your business, frankly.
How could I not while in the sight of a great adonis? I am only a mere, lowly human, after all. You must excuse my awkward, earthly antics.
My heart. You've broken it.
This place isn't nearly as lurid as I'd pictured.
Yeah I guess.
Oh, thank goodness. -Laughs- Why woud your parents refuse to name you? Skye that’s a beautiful name.
That's a nice quality. I mean, I wish I was like that. It's sweet.
I dunno'. Why not, y'know? Then, I could be like, 'I'm Nobody.' That'd be great. But, thanks.
This place isn't nearly as lurid as I'd pictured.
Ouch, girl. I’d help you out if I could, but it’d make you blush even more. Though, I’m sure we’d both like the type of burst effect I’d leave on you.
I’ve been here my entire life. I have no reason to leave. Don’t worry, I love it when woman get rude.
[Her hand flees to her lips, stifling laughter. Who did this guy think he was?] Oh, God. I'm sorry. I don't mean to laugh. [She drops her hand down to her side, giggles rolling off her tongue in small bouts, slowly ceasing.] Are you always like this?
You said it was dull and boring. Is that not reason enough? I know I couldn't stand to stay in one place.
❝I Sense New Faces❞
Or Grassy.. You so wouldn’t be want to be labeled with that.
[Quirks a brow at the female] If there is one that I will never do, that is shutting up. It’d do you good to watch them. They’re like a ticking bomb. Wait Winchester? I’ve heard of them, haven’t came in contact with them. Are they your long lost cousins? If I see them, I could keep tabs on them?
[A bubble of laughter escapes her lips.] No. That would be really sad, actually.
Oh, Daniel. You're an awfully amusing kid, you know that? I think we're going to get along. [She listens to him, shrugging. A sigh escapes her lips. She muses back to the time at the hospital, anger briefly swelling in her chest before deflating.] Yeah. Something like that. [A pause. Her expression changes to one of gratitude. She beams at him.] Really? You'd do that? That'd be -- that'd be great. I'd like that. Really. [Mindlessly, she leans in and presses a kiss to his cheek.] Thank you.
