intro I guess..?

hi! My name is Skylar and I am an Aussie based cosplayer and photographer who sometimes dabbles in mlp crossover styled art.

I’ll probably post a mix of cosplays, cosplay photography and art on this account so enjoy if you think that’s your thing. I mostly cosplay from mcyt media including the life series, hermitcraft, vampires smp, bannerfall and other mcyt series as they come out as well as other fandoms including HSR.

for my art I do not have commissions unless stated otherwise as I don’t consider myself a good artist and I do my mlp crossovers for fun especially ones from the life series, empires, vampires smp and other media such as critical role (only drawn 3 of them but I liked Vox machina and excited for the new season).

Bannerfall Kitty/Luanne!

Honestly I think this design is so cute! The white markings I tried to make like traditional cat markings that transferred from the spell same with the more kirin tail and slitted cat eyes. I decided in the end to give a cutie mark as it felt fitting in the end. Who knows if I might change it but I’m still happy.

Wanna know a fun fact? Before I was a cosplayer i was a performer! I danced for 13 years training in many disciplines before going on the preprofessional track. Unfortunately, it was never meant to be. I suffered from severe abdominal pain for years after so much pushing I was diagnosed with endometriosis in late 2023. So I quit. I quit my dream. But I still dance, I never truely gave it up. Last year I performed for the first time on stage a solo I loved in my pearl cosplay telling a story through music once again. I’m slowly working my way back into training again and debating doing my teachers in Tap dance (my best style). Who knows though. For now I wanna dance for me. Tell the stories of the characters we love through dance and music to those that might not watch it or understand, cause that’s what I love about it.

I did tap, jazz, musical theatre, ballet, pointe, Latin, lyrical, contemporary, caberet, ballroom, aerial arts, acro and hip hop

Bannerfall Blue Kingdom 4cvit!!

4C is also a slime pony like jevin! I thought it would be nice to do some drawing again of the remaining bannerfall cast I’m left to do. I’m very happy with this and I will draw 4C’s more red kingdom/banishment outfit as I think it would be fun that the markings on a slime ponies body form when they become injured naturally and other scars come from weapons inflicted upon them even if they heal quicker then others.

Are you planning any lore for your PanSMP character or gonna do the same shit for like the 3rd or 4th time of entering the world with zero clue and maybe just a name? Not get me wrong I love both of the options lol it's incredible how you could just improv the entire thing for days with Flight smp

From what I've been told of Pan so far, I think going in with some history for the character and a general motive is the safest bet. It'll be a bit like the Life Series with how unpredictable it can be so I need to be adaptable

Flight SMP is a unique beast as we didn't know what the world's lore was before stepping into it, which can make story writing pretty impossible until you've indulged for a while. I'm hoping to do a bit more lore stuff in the coming weeks and we'll see where the server wide beats take us

Hey all, not my normal post but in light of recent news coming about about certain creators I’ve decided to delete my art with the creator AvidMc and I will no longer be producing any art using the character.

I hope that the creators affected are okay and get some well deserved rest after everything and know that we will be here to support them.

After 8 months of not being able to attend a con I finally attended one! A local one to me in Tasmania so I bought back my 5am pearl cosplay. I honestly forget how pretty this cosplay makes me feel and how much I love it. The time and effort it took to make the cape and the cosplay just make me happy when I wear it (I also finally remembered to wear my fox ears with it for more werewolf vibes)

I now have a YouTube!!! I’m mostly using it to post speedpaints of some of my art including my bigger pieces I’ve done for bannerfall and vampires as well as the individual ponies I’ve done.

I hope to also use it in the future to show how I make my cosplays and or photo editing process. Not completely certain yet but it’s a start.

The account is Skylarfoxkit_ on YouTube with only 1 video so far but still I’m happy to be sharing my art outside of tumblr and Instagram

My only cosplay from Qsmp being Pomme! I loved pomme as well as many of the egg admins in the original Qsmp and this was the first cosplay I competed in at my local cosplay competition.

This whole cosplay was hand patterned with custom beading for the apples and the scythe was my first EVA foam prop.

I love my scythe so much.

One of my friends also cosplayed technoblade with me doing pomme at this con so I have photos with them in it (it’s origins techno but still)

More photos of my empires Ldshadowlady cosplay with my friend cosplaying empires Scott. I love this cosplay so much and I cannot wait to finish revamping it and bring it back.

The whole dress was handstitched, draped and using real shells for the crown that I cleaned. The purple flowers represent Joel and the net skirt to be a fishing net (since she traded fish and prismarine).

My first ever made cosplay, umbreon from Pokemon. I still love this cosplay. It was 90% thrifted with only a handful of thought elements like the broomstick I used for the staff handle and the chains. The rest was fabric from thrifted dresses, past projects and thrift shop fabric finds and still continues to be one of my favourite pieces I’ve made.

I made this back in 2022 in 2 weeks over school break before committing to going to my first ever convention.

Hermit-a-day May Day 31: Zombie Cleo!

Final day of hermit-a-day May and finishing with Cleo. Cleo is a revived pony with the help of alicorn magic she’s able to exist and not decompose like a normal zombie. I do wanna redesign this in the future but for now I still like it.

Don’t have much to say with bdubs other then yes he is a Kirin due to his connection to nature and building style and his magic matches that. In my universe he left the Kirin village with scar and cub to find a new home within hermitcraft.

Something I finally finished after being inspired from the bannerfall finale. I didn’t trust myself to be able to draw this with my current drawing abilities but I am happy with it. I hope to maybe draw more group pieces like this or more styled solo ponies
