Photos with first-mate Emma aboard the ship in Treasure Reef

I met this skykid while socializing in the Wasteland, and she enthusiastically put together a pirate outfit to match my own. She has an eye for fashion, she put it together so quickly, and it looks very nice. I told her the bird was a nice touch. What's a pirate crew without a parrot? Prepare to set sail!

The ruins of Treasure Reef

I love the way these pillars jut out of the water and hint at the massive structure just under the surface. It draws your eye immediately and connects well to the ruins found elsewhere in the Wasteland. Towering structures reduced to bones and rubble due to war and famine.

It's both beautiful and melancholy.

Capitán Monte en el Arrecife del Tesoro (Captain Monte in Treasure Reef)

I did a photoshoot in my most recent favorite outfit, a pirate lord. I was inspired by the Pirates of the Caribbean films, and I've been wearing this outfit for a while now. I met another skykid who took I also took some photos of, but for some reason our cameras were struggling to focus properly. I'll post those separately. Odesa, Ukraine.

Mid-December

The attack came at night

and lasted until morning,

longer than usual.

I slept through it. I usually do,

despite the warnings.

apparently, I’m a heavy sleeper.

for almost a week, the city went dark.

attacks hit the infrastructure.

no electricity anywhere.

no water.

just darkness stretching across the streets.

annoying buzz of generators running the shops.

later, I wanted to play Sky.

In the middle of the chaos,

I still had a little battery left.

but the connection was weak,

barely enough to send a single message.

and yet

we don't survive.

we live.

we ate by candlelight with my roommate and friends.

my apartment had frozen solid,

and I was sick with a cough,

so they took me in.

walking to get groceries, we paused.

the lights were gone.

the city was silent.

and stars - stars shone brighter than I had ever noticed.

for a ling moment, the stars felt closer than ever.
