► YAMAMOTO | One way or another, the rat will be properly found and disposed of; a younger version of himself would go for a catch and release kind of game plan, but they were no longer kids. They knew better. While they still held fast to their sense of justice, they also came to a firm understanding that mercy cannot always be afforded in this line of work. If they let one rat get away, then many more will think they can, too.
And that was unacceptable.
With both guardians coming in from the top and the bottom, there was nowhere for the rat to go. The longer he stayed within the manor, the higher the chances of him getting caught became. He knew that. But it’d be suspicious if he was caught trying to leave the premises, and everyone was on high alert.
“You!” Yamamoto’s voice suddenly broke the man out of his train of thought, causing him to lower the radio from his lips. When the Rain approached and regarded him with a brief nod, he lowered the walkie to his side once more.
“The coast is clear, sir,” he spoke out, hoping he didn’t pick up on the slight waver in his voice.
Amber eyes narrowed for a moment before he nodded again. “Well, we won’t find him if we keep standing here, right?” Smirking, he clapped a hand on his shoulder with a firm squeeze, before he continued down the hall with expectancy. And sure enough, the subordinate, Angelico, was smart enough to follow behind as they moved on to the next floor down.
Together, they made their way down, until sure enough they would bump into Hibari himself. The whole while, Yamamoto remained ‘oblivious’ that he had the rat following him all along.
Kyouya does a thorough check of the basement and finds nothing particularly out of place. The underbelly consists of plenty of storage space, along with secret passageways and emergency exists only known to the uppermost echelon of the Vongola. The Cloud is just about ready to leave, when he hears the twittering of one of his birds — come to find him in the low lit arena, a message imbued into song. He holds out a single finger for the little, yellow animal to perch on and listens carefully.
Found. Found. With the Rain.
And shortly after that message is shared, Yamamoto Takeshi reappears, and not alone. His bird shifts from his finger, to sit on his shoulder and the picture starts to become crystal clear. There’s nothing obvious about the subordinate nor Yamamoto’s actions that give away that their rat has been discovered. At the same time, Kyouya imagines the the subordinate must be quite nervous. All alone with two extremely formidable guardians. The swell of the vicious Cloud bringing forth the type of rain that pounds against pavement and seeps into bone, bringing bringing forth a bitter chill not meant to be forgotten anytime soon.
“I’ve already cleared this area,” Kyouya says, grey eyes meeting the other man’s in an unspoken agreement. “
Here and now. Let’s deal with it. Don’t let him escape.
