THREE YEARS JADE

wow a timejump what is this worm

What do I even say here anymore, other than listing the random shit happening? Karkat is finally a resistance leader and Gamzee has become the priest of REDEMPTION, with a really good eridan moment. Its great. And now the whole world is covered in ghosts. The Candy universe has become the biggest dumping ground for Paradox Space’s unresolved bullshit. 

John’s connection with Terezi is also getting super interesting.

I may drift away from writing as many of these, this is just a lot to take in

what is happening. the teen-jade is alt!calliope?? I guess it makes somewhat sense. We were first led to believe that it was this Jade who spoke to her, but it turned out to be post-retcon Jade. So now this Jade is... her host. Its the opposite of all the theories of Caliborn taking over Jake. 

Other than that, a great string of events. Its reading messy enough that I could have wrote it, but elegant enough to be hussie’s outline. Weirdness flowing into weirdness. Aradia and Sollux were a pleasant surprise. I was a bit shocked that we would do a second funeral, but it makes sense that Roxy is finally embracing the part of her that threw a funeral for Jaspers.

shits happening!!

Here we go lads, time to step away from the emotional rollercoaster and have a sprinkle of meat in our candy. By quite literally dropping a piece of it onto the candy. GO Jade fell from the sky. 

I had often remarked on how Jade’s crushed body was the most gruesome death in Homestuck, but I never imagined they would have Adult Jade come face to face with that body. Gross.

I guess this timeline is going to start falling apart now. Or this is a message sent over from the Meat timeline? Weird shit is happening

John realized his mistake! And that everyone is batshit crazy! Thank god Terezi is immune to the Candy out in Paradox Space. But with his retcon powers gone, I don’t know how things will end. I mean, obviously with me going back and choosing Meat. But what of these characters and their fanservice lives? 

This whole set-up of giving the fans everything they could ever want and not having it be bad necessarily, but just showing them how boring and wrong it is, is great. I love this. I’m guessing we’ll still get a turning point where everyone goes all grimdark candy-gore? The more John realizes his mistake the harder the universe pushes him. His friends become more enveloped in the candy and drag him into it harder. The more he fights it, the more fanservicey the story itself gets. It’s trying desperately to create the perfect world that fans want to see, and John is aware of how wrong it all is, like he was when he was trapped in Homosuck. 

I guess I’ll take a break here to shower.

Welp Roxy got pregnant, there goes that. Unless they’re hinting at her being a closeted trans-male, because they def brought up gender stuff earlier. Anyway, we went from Dirk’s funeral to John and Roxy being married for 6 months already wow. Roxygen has... happened. That’s weird to think about. This is just incredible

Well everythings gone fucking pear-shaped.

There’s some instant monkey’s paw on that fucking “dark like murderstuck” wish god fucking damn.

And its a beautiful sight. Because its so raw and gruesome and pointless. It may appear as meat, given its brutality, but this is candy. This is random bullshit happening just because “character arcs”, just because things have to rhyme. It’s the epitome of classpect and theories and being so confident in your predictions that they HAVE to happen. Dirk HAS to cut his head off. IT HAS TO HAPPEN. BECAUSE SYMBOLISM.

The next page has the big “EPILOGUE THREE” header, so we’ve reached another point worthy of a chapter. We just pushed through a ton of romance, so I’m guessing we’ll shift focus a bit to the weirdness going on. Dirk has lost his mind somewhere, gone full Bro Strider leaving clues in creepy puppets. Gamzee is continuing to be the literal representation of Candy, giving people the shove they need to get the ball rolling. Roxy wants to bring up gender. Its happening. Jake and Jane fucked. But in a way that makes it feel like Jane is a horrible person and drugged him with trickster candy. It’s certainly not a “rape joke” but inebriated sex happened, albiet it involved lots of candy and honking and gaudy colors.

I hope Candy takes like a super dark turn and gets murderstuck crazy next.
