The ACT Emergency Services Agency (ESA) is the ACT Government organisation charged with providing emergency management services to the Canberra community.

SkyProbing - October 16/17
Went out at about 5 AM on the morning of October 17. A bit of whispy cloud in the sky, but with only about an hour before sunrise, I thought a quick look around might be okay.
For the first time I tried hunting for a deep sky object - an easy one - the Orion Nebula. Found it within seconds, and what an impressive sight through the eyepiece! Unfortunately I didn't bother with any tracking, so any photos are absolutely pathetic.
Perhaps getting up a bit earlier tomorrow morning with plenty of time to set up is the key ;)
Also caught a glimpse of a couple of Orionid meteors - hopefully they put on a good show over the next few days.
