I’ve said this once, I’ve said it twice, I’ve said it more than enough times and I’ll say it forever I shall be a broken record. THE THINGS YOU DO TO ME WITH YOUR MUSES AND WRITING. Kardia and Defteros, gosh. Ok. I love them. And you’re one of the major factors that keeps the love growing. Aiacos. Yes, I’ll repeat this again, I never thought much of him or adored him as much as Minos and Rhadamanthys, but goodness my lady, you made me into his fan. And now, well, he’s going to haunt me forever.

Again the tall man crouched in front of her, his eyes a color she had never seen before. At that moment, Aiacos was her anchor and guide, a mysterious figure who appeared to her when only darkness and confusion surrounded her tiny being. Still holding his hand, now trembling a little, the girl had an impossibly hard time accepting his words. From his opinion about lying gods to the vague explanation about her - dead? - vanished family, how could she believe him? After all, her dearest mother had taught her before to not trust stranger.

And yet, that dreadful feeling pressing her guts lead Pandora to believe in his words more than she should, to her own good.

“Nothing?…” She stupidly repeated his last statement, staring down at her shoes buckles. Fat drops of tears clouded her vision already, the grey ground beneath their feet a smooth sea of clay. With her other arm she hid her eyes, pink lips curving downwards as limpid tears flowed along her cheeks, leaving only a wet trace behind. Her weeping was silent and restrained, still.

Pandora only wished to disappear from that Inferno, she wanted to breath fresh air again and hug her perfumed mutter. But all she could do was cry in silence and hold his warm fingers. How pathetic.

The tears had probably been unavoidable. Aiacos had expected them even though he'd avoided simply baring the truth (why?), still, it didn't mean he knew how to deal with it. He waited, without withdrawing his hand, just waited for her to finish. She barely made a noise even as she cried, shoulders shaking as if trying to desperately contain whatever it was she felt It was impossible to see her as the same Pandora that he knew, but in this way maybe she was the same.

Aiacos knew very little about Pandora though, and he knew nothing about her before she became the woman that he knew. And he was just as clueless about children, little girls. So, what was he supposed to do with her? He sighed.

"You have a room here, maybe there's something there that you'll like or be comforting. I'll take you there." Even Kagaho would probably be better equipped to handle this compared to him, or perhaps Violate. But he couldn't leave Pandora alone to go find someone better, even if he was probably not a comforting option for her. "Do you need to be carried?"

As he was about to stand up, Valentine caught the boy’s rather subtle murmur and he found himself kneeling back down instead of moving away, tilting his head a little to get a better view of the tiny human’s face. “…There’s no, uh. Need to worry about me.” Now, that was odd to say to a child, considering he didn’t expect him to care in the first place- The Harpy was momentaneously overcome with a odd sensation of warmth that left him confused. “…I-I am perfectly fine, I swear.” The Specter looked slightly surprised: could it be that the boy… “…You don’t…Know what chocolate is?” That was quite shocking. A child so young- And he had never tried chocolate? Valentine just had another reason to give him some food. With that, he wrapped him up a little better into the blanket before raising up and enter the adjoining room to try to find everything he needed.

It was clear Suikyo had been in the cold for a prolonged time, enough for him to probably need not only a warm blanket, but also something sweet to eat- Sugar certainly helped the body more than anything else in cases like that, so he just went with a tablet of milk chocolate (and taking a white one, just in case.). Unfortunately he had only water to drink, but he supposed that could do for the moment- After filling up a glass, he walked back into the bedroom, placing the glass down onto the nightstand.

Crouching back in front of the human, Valentine opened the milk chocolate bar and unwrapped it, breaking a tiny square of chocolate to offer it to Suikyo. “Here, try. I think you might like it.”

Suikyo shook his head slightly in response, honestly. He fidgeted a little, getting more comfortable in the blanket. It was warm enough that he thought he might doze off before Valentine came back. It was such a strange word that Suikyo hadn't even been able to picture what the food might look like. He could only stare when Valentine held out the little brown square to him.

It was the same colour as soil.

He accepted the square after a moment, glancing at Valentine uncertainly and then at the water, before popping the chocolate into his mouth. The texture and flavour of it was so foreign and unexpected that it startled a little noise out of Suikyo. To begin with he’d rarely eaten anything sweet aside from fruits and occasssionally sugarcane, but it was sweeter than probably anything he'd ever had in his life and it dissolved strangely, leaving a lingering sweetness even after it was gone. It was more confusing than food had a right to be.

Suikyo scooted closer to the nightstand so that he could drink from the glass of water. His mouth felt sticky. "Thank you," he said softly, tucking his hands back into the blankets once he checked that they were clean. He didn't want to stain the blanket that Valentine had lent him.

As a Saint, he’d have been disappointed in his own lack of control. His temper ticked and blew for that moment. The Judge’s reaction didn’t help either; how humiliating and agitating. Shura heaved in barely a soft breath, “Don’t tell me you Specters expect a form of courteous from us?”

He was about to respond negatively to the grab, until he was pushed back. Shura regained his balance after a few steps and stood a little more balanced. The man growled softly, further agitated. His shoulders began to feel heavy.

“And I didn’t intend on seeing your face or your unwanted ‘gift’.”

"Shouldn't you know by now, things don't often go as you intend, or anyone else." Aiacos dusted himself off, as if he felt somehow dirtied by barely touching the Saint. It was different, this Saint's Cosmo could be every bit as clouded as his own. He smiled blithely at the Capricorn Saint, wondering idly if he would be attacked again for an offensive smile or gaze.

"As surprising as you may find it, I'm not one of those that take pleasure in pointless fights. Though, I could humour you a little if you're so eager...I have time to kill."

After all, the period of time between Holy Wars always felt so meaningless, what was one more useless encounter, useless fight.

Suikyo. There was something that had shifted in his expression, just a little, and Kagaho wasn’t sure exactly what it had been. It felt like it had even passed through where Kagaho’s hand was wrapped around his wrist, something cold and hot, at the same time. This man was actually trying to bargain with him, now. Even if Suikyo was physically weak, there was something about him that gave Kagaho a bit of pause, made him consider those words.

He didn’t take orders from this man, though.

“It doesn’t matter that much to me whether you listen or not,” Kagaho said, moving closer to scoop Suikyo up in one rough, abrupt motion. “It isn’t me that has anything to say to you. But, getting rid of the other nuisances here is something I’d already planned to do.”

He ran a few paces, before spreading the wings of his Surplice and jumping into the air. He was going to head back in the direction of the village, and land back on the tallest building that was left standing.

Suikyo struggled when the stranger lifted him, shoving at his shoulders -- but something in the sensation of the dark metal against his hand made him recoil, made something in him stutter and choke. He hardly reacted when the man spread his impossible metal wings and leapt into the air. It was the feeling of the wind that snapped him out of his trance.

He shoved at the man's face, trying to squirm free of his hold, "Let go of me!" Suikyo had a short kukri strapped to his waist that he'd never used against another person, he'd never even used it on an animal. There was a thick metal choker that protected the man's throat, Suikyo drew the blade, thrusting it at his face instead, aiming for one of his eyes.

The sounds of people screaming and running in the village below them were impossible to ignore, it overlapped with a thousand memories of innumerable screams. They were -- they were -- like insects, like ants. It wouldn't matter to anyone else if they were cast aside or buried alive, maybe, but Suikyo wasn't any different. He was the same as them. (Wasn't he?)
