LEGO announced recently that Katherine Johnson will be included in its new   “Women of NASA” collection after she got a standing ovation at the Academy Awards. 

This incredible Black woman became an inspiration for the film “Hidden Figures” for her contribution to NASA’s space program. NASA mathematician calculated flight trajectories for the first trip to the moon and for the first American cosmonaut to go into space.

Johnson will be transformed into a LEGO figure along with Sally Ride (the first American woman to travel into space), Mae Jemison (the first African American woman to travel into space), computer scientist Margaret Hamilton and astronomer Nancy Grace Roman.

This collection is announced to be launched this year or early 2018.

These news are so lit and so important for Black women and for Black people in general. I wish there were more collections like this.
