My parents did this to me as a teenager. Nothing will ever match the horror of being called into your dad’s office at the age of 14 and him showing you screenshots of your own computer from the last several months. Screenshots of private conversations with online friends. Or records of my internet browsing history. And then my fundamentalist christian parents asked, “do you masturbate?” because they found I had signed up for this site called “okcupid” in order to do the fun personality quizzes they had on it. And okcupid was a “sex site.” And they would play mind games with me, pretending that they had been recording more of my activity than they actually had, but refusing to tell me how much, so I never really knew how much they actually knew, or how long they’d been spying on my computer, and I lived in constant fear of them pulling out a “WE KNOW YOU DID THIS, GOTCHA.” at any moment. Sometimes when I left the room they would sneak onto my computer and go through anything I had left open. I’m 23 now, and to this day I have a soul-crippling paranoia of anybody getting near my computer. Not even long term romantic partners. NOBODY touches my computer. Never ever ever ever.

This makes me so happy, and yet so sad.

He was smart, he was a writer (you could tell by his phrasing) and this is something he TRULY cares about. That boy has a heart and he cares. He sees the truth for what it is and he refuses to sit idly and watch as the youth of america just stumbles by.

BUT the teacher was done. She didn’t care. She was fed up.

BUT the students were uncaring, even laughing, as this young man walked out

BUT this video was put online to be deemed as a joke and embarrass that boy.

THAT is unexceptionable

To take your opinion and share. NOT ONCE did he threaten her, NOT ONCE did he raise his voice above a proper projection so that the class could hear his words  NOT ONCE did he insult her in any means past how she was behaving with her job. He didn’t undermine her. He didn’t hurt her, and yet he gave his message and left in peace.

That makes him a true, undeniable, super hero in my eyes.

AMERICAN MEDIA IS DISGUSTING TRASH He is a child and yet you still choose to use this photo to demonize him and steal his adolescent innocence. A simple school picture or photo of him with his family and friends would’ve given viewers a glimpse of who he truly was, in a dignified manner. But I guess he was just another black threat, right? Isn’t that the evil image you were trying to paint? This country’s rulers are wicked.

Not old enough to enter middle school, not old enough for a learner’s permit, not even old enough to ride in the front seat of a car. We know that, his parents know that. his parents probably still had to remind him to brush his teeth before bed. He probably liked recess a lot and he probably loved to play kickball and to do 10-year-old things. But because our media is still trying to cover up the fact the majority of our police are racists they’re going to dehumanize a child. They’re going to take away the good, the child he is, and use a picture that makes him seem like a trouble maker, like he deserved to have his short life ripped from underneath him. If it were a Caucasian child this wouldn’t be the case because most likely, a Caucasian 10-year-old would not be shot and killed by an officer. I’m sickened. He can’t even watch a PG-13 movie without his guardian present so whatever made this officer shoot is an unjustifiable reason. So, while a white child is promoting to middle school and eventually high school and maybe joins an after school activity or goes to homecoming or starts dating, this kid won’t ever have that and it’s because he was born into a black family with black skin.
