Every day seems to bring about another geopolitical disaster. DEBUNK THE DOOM offers a weekly dose of hope, logically and objectively explai

For the past three weeks, I’ve been writing a secret Substack.

It started as a public, albeit anonymous, diary. I was freaking out about Trump’s threats to annex Greenland. Of all the terrible news coming out of the States right now (a country, by the way, that I love dearly), I’m not sure why this tipped me over the edge. But I wanted to write something which allayed my own concerns and fears. It was cathartic, bordering on therapeutic.

When I published that article, a considerable number of online strangers reached out to tell me how much it helped them. Some people even started asking me to ‘debunk’ other pessimistic news stories.

And DEBUNK THE DOOM was born. I do not want to give the false impression that everything in the world currently consists of sunshine and roses. Every day seems to bring about another disaster, so it is natural for people to drift into despair. I am merely trying to inject a tiny bit more hope into that equation, logically and objectively explaining why the worst-case scenarios in life and politics almost never materialise.

Currently, three articles I’ve written are live. I’ll link the two most recent below. They’re all tangentially about Trump, because Trump provokes a lot of doom, but I’ll be focusing on anything and everything that catches my eye.
