Trans Women Are Real Women - International Women's Day 2016 - Spoken Word/Slam Poem https://youtu.be/ErocfsSmY1M I am a real woman,

Despite being trans but apparently that's not what the airport security scans

And I still deal with all these bans,

You don't understand my gender is more than my future plans

I am a real woman, for real

My pain you do not feel,

You don't feel my ordeal,

You deny my rights is so surreal,

And you don't understand the appeal

For trans women

You rush to announce my chromosomes

So much for egalitarianism,

And you still call us "he" when you practice journalism

Don't even try like TYT does, it's not pessimism

Bring up TERFS Trans exclusionary radical feminists and call it feminism

Oh, doesn't this remind you of extremism

Some countries on me they'd do an exorcism

I hear not a peep, so much for feminism

I have had enough of your criticism

Did I forget to mention the fetishism

Of my body my life, isn't not favoritism

You forget about me when it comes to libertarianism

And you cringe at me with conservatism

My head on a plate with authoritarianism

And yet you scoff at my liberalism

Where is my humanitarianism?

You criticize my intolerance of your ideology

You expect an apology

When all you'll shove at me is my biology

And you forgot to mention my psychology

The only words you have for me is gender-bender

Waiting for me to be a sexual offender

You call me a fake woman, like a pretender

But for some trans women you don't, if they're slender

Just because I am transgender

You criticize my voice

And then call yourself a liberal,

You call yourself a liberal,

You call yourself tolerant,

You call yourself in favor of equality,

You call yourself a Hillary supporter

Even though her and Bernie have the same voting record on women's rights

Even though Bernie Sanders has a better record on trans issues because he was for gay and trans rights in the 1980's, YES, the 1980's,

Even though in the last town hall Bernie came out stronger in being Pro-Choice than Hillary

And then the next day you can go back to calling yourself a super lib

After the election trans issues will be off your radar

You'll say it was the republicans turn

As people suffer,

Because you voted for Hillary

A woman, because feminism

Even though the outcome for Bernie would be a win

The polls are in

Wonder why I'm a political junkie

Because my rights are on the line

But my fault, being trans is a choice,

You plug your ears and rejoice

Even though I have gender dysphoria,

A very real thing,

Not a choice,

So what's your deal? My pain, do you feel?

You still think women's identity I steal?

What If It Was You?

What if you had gender dysphoria,

What if you to fight for your legal rights,

What if you what if you had been trans

What if you were up late shaking

What if you were trying to cope

Blanket boy

“I fell in love with the way you touched me without using your hands.“ His presence was like a warm blanket, warm and comforting, always arms open for me to wrap myself up in and relax, being held in that hug I had been craving was like a dream that came true everyday. Even just a soft arm touch was like an illusion for me, as if he were completely around and touching every inch of my body. That feeling of this comforting, soft, fuzzy, warm blanket never went away. Listening to his breath was like little waves rushing into the tide and feeling the wash of relief and cleanliness with every breathe but without getting your feet cold in the water. Every breath was a reminder this was a real human, who actually cared and wanted to be with me, and who chose me. But he didn’t. Not always. But I didn’t have to think about that, because I was wrapped in this warm blanket, listening to waves with warm feet, because I had a blanket. Him. My blanket boy. His laugh was like spring, so cheerful and colorful and could put a smile on my face any day. It came out loud, like a banging pot and was over soon after. His shoulders and arms were like wavy clouds and I was the bird way up high. I knew every crease, every hill, every indent and valley from brushing my fingers up and down them as if painting, feeling the warmth in my finger tips, knowing it made him shiver as if cold. But he never got cold, not my blanket boy. I was safe with him, I never had to worry about other people. Until. Until it was another boy and he came too close to me. Or a boy made me laugh, or a boy texted me and asked me for the homework assignment. Or if a boy was on my recents when my blanket boy checked my snapchat after I went to sleep every night. If I made a mistake, it was like my precious sun was gone. That smile I had loved so much wouldn’t be there, as if the blanket was covering my eyes but instead of that warm blanket feeling wrapped around me I knew so well..felt gone, lost. It wouldn’t come back until I proved I needed him by trying my best to comfort him in my own warmth and sunshine, but it’s difficult to learn to make sunshine yourself when everyday you depend on someone else doing it. It’s hard to be happy on days it felt like the cloud were covering you every second, no matter what the weather was outside. It’s hard to suddenly one day be forced to make yourself happy, to be able to comfort yourself and give that warm blanket comfort feeling to yourself and you won’t until your forced to do it yourself. Until you complete remove that person to have the choice to make the sun shine for you or the clouds leave you in the dark, you will continue to depend on them. But what about yourself, love? It’s hard to love yourself when everyday someone else does it for you, until they don’t. ~B.R.F Wrote this a while ago just never got around to posting it, but can honestly say time heals everything. Blood" “I remember the most traumatic moment of my life, it was almost a decade ago but I still remember it. I remember the cries, the blood, oh my god I had never seen that much blood. My mother split her head open and my Jesus she cried for nine year old me and I came running, and froze at the blood and the cries, I grabbed the phone and dialed the only number I could think of, I called my father. 911 was a blurry memory that I couldn’t quite grip My father made it, and drove her to the hospital and I sat there with my siblings. And there was no warmth on that spring day. Just blood. I still can’t see blood without having flash backs to being that small boy and gripping that phone in shaking hands like I was the one losing blood. My uncle eventually came over to watch over us, and he comforted us telling us momma was going to be okay. But then Dad Comes home and starts yelling at uncle Fred About how she could die. But all I could think about was all the fucking blood. There was no God in that room, just me, my dying mother, and blood, so much blood

A call for moderators

Hi everyone,

I have no idea if this will interest anyone at all but I’m looking for one or possibly two people to help me moderate this blog.

At the moment I can only access the internet through my phone which makes running the big somewhat difficult at times. I’m as active as much as I currently can be but no where near as active as I’d like it to be. So I thought it’d be a good idea to get someone else on board to help so the blog is much more active and can hopefully grow.

As I said before, I have no idea if anyone will be interested and I know this isn’t a massive blog but if anyone loves slam poetry and wants to help out please get in touch with me and tell me a bit about yourself. It’d be appreciated.
