Do You Truly Love Christ?

You say you love Christ, but you don't even have the desire or the hunger to know Him through Scriptures. Something is wrong. You can't have the former without the latter. Died to Save

Let's look at Matthew 1:21 for a minute. It is written, "She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins." I want to focus on the second half of the verse regarding the purpose of Christ's death. The verse says that "he will save his people from their sins." We get three truths from this short verse. (1) Jesus died to save—not to make salvation a mere possibility. Jesus "will save," not "might save." He will save who? (2) His people. He didn't die generally and for no one in particular but for specific people. Again, not "might save" but "will save His people." Save His people from what? (3) "From their sins"—i.e. those whom He had died for will have their sins completely atoned for, forgiven, wiped out, and obliterated. That's all folks. Have a great weekend! Soli Deo gloria! :)
