Unironically a Starship Troopers style of voltuneerist service in exchange for participation in the affairs of the State is the mildest and most progressive outcome for the United States, probably combined with some sort of American Integralism in order to enforce proper assimilation on immigrant populations deemed assimilable. This is the best outcome. Anything else is either far more extreme or takes the opposite route of complete chaos and eventual balkanization.
