Coffee & Free Wifi
Nick sipped his coffee as they walked over to the table and sat down. He didn’t mean to stare at Rory for as long as he did. Thankfully, he looked away before the thought of compelling the other boy crossed his mind. He had been working on controlling his compulsion. Some times were harder than others. The vampire smiled and took another sip of his coffee. “That seems to be a pretty common thing. ..I wasn’t really a coffee drinker until my first finals week of college. Needed all the caffeine I could get.” He chuckled. “I’ve actually lived here a while. Long enough to think of it as home.” He explained with a smile as he put his cup down on the table, the silver of his daylight ring shining in the light.
Rory still couldn’t wrap his hand around what that feeling was he’d felt earlier but it certainly had him on edge. In his line of work, anything that felt out of place or suspicious needed to be taken seriously and while he wanted to pay all of his attention to Nick, he couldn’t shake that feeling away either. He took a drink of his coffee and looked over at his friend. “I found high school ta be a breeze. I didn’ know that college was goin’ ta be so rough and hard. But now, I find meself having to drink at least a cup a day o this stuff.” He stated, running a hand through his hair, before spotting the ring that Nick was playing with. “That is an interestin’ ring. Is it a family heirloom or something?” He asked, his curiosity piqued.
