Hey! 

So, after some thinking, I am going to move this blog and up my selectivity in this fandom. Lately, I have been feeling like I have a good number of followers but next to no interaction outside of a couple people. I feel like it would be better for my mental health and mood on Dmitri to be following a small number of people who intend to write/interact with me. 

It’s harsh, but I just wanted to be upfront about my reasons for wanting to move. So, if you want to interact/plot on the new blog, please give this a like so I have an idea on who to follow over there. However, please only like this if you seriously intend to write with me on this character since I likely will go mostly plot-based on that blog. Those who already have threads with me, I’ll be transferring those over to the new blog at the end of the week (if it’s me who owes the next reply, that is. ...I’m not honestly sure exactly what the prison in Kamchatka is supposed to be in this show. I avoid calling it a G/ulag because those were abolished before the time period of the show, mostly as a result of S/talin’s death along with other factors. Yet, that doesn’t mean all the prisoners were just free, especially since that wasn’t applied to political prisoners and there was complications with just letting so many people out and obviously the struggle to return to ‘normal’ life after being in those camps. That also doesn't mean other institutions weren't put in their place. By the 80s, forced labor colonies and prisons were still a thing (and still are but y’know how P/utin is.) 

IDK, it’s a weird correctional labor prison (under the assumption the prison held prisoners for criminal offenses too but it’s just super vague in the show) that also functions as a sort of echo of a G/ulag. Considering it’s this top secret prison (even tho the guards apparently show up in the town TWO HOURS away enough to where the civilians there know of their presence enough to insult them lol) I guess it can pass as such. 

I know the D/uffers don’t care to research anything outside of American 80s nostalgia, they can’t even get their own lore right, but when I see fans tossing the term around without any care it just kind of frustrates me? Especially considering there were some 3 million people who suffered and/or died in those camps and colonies. Not to mention the modern remnants today. It's a heavy term to toss around so lightly, imo.

Completely unrelated to this blog (well, maybe not since I'd love to make a verse at some point) but I'm still thinking about the new T/LOU episode. Trying to write and my brain keeps drifting back to it. I'm still emotionally recovering.

I debated weighing in on this, considering some things about the drama today are personal to me. 

If you’ve read my rules, you’ll see that I don’t rp massive age gaps for my own comfort. I won’t get into details, but I was harassed (sexual comments, unwanted touching) by a middle-aged man when I was around 17 for the length of my school year. He didn’t care about my protests, my age, or anything. My school did nothing, my friends did nothing, reporting it did nothing and it was only solved by me moving away from the city. So, when I see a middle-aged character shipped with an 18 year old, it flares my anxiety and I get a little sick to my stomach. I think intentions are important and I don’t believe age gaps are inherently bad, but levels of maturity and life experiences matter. There is a power dynamic in an age gap that massive, no matter how you try to spin things. 

I ask that you factor that in when looking at stuff like this, please. An age gap of a couple years is a non-issue, imo, but the call out is talking about a middle-aged character shipped with an 18 year old. 

That said, aging up your character for non-smut reasons isn’t and shouldn’t be worthy of a callout. If someone’s being weird about it, block ‘em. There’s no need for a callout over stuff like this, especially when it’ll lessen the ones that actually involve minors and adults.

I mean, I’ve always got something to complain about when it comes to this hobby so that level’s always at a medium. lmao 

I do have something specific in mind, though. Why’s this character so heavily sexualized? I don’t get it. Well, I do, but I also don’t. lmao If his character tag isn’t full of bots, it’s r/eader-insert smut and I’m tired. I’m grateful for the people in there who post gifs, fanarts, and headcanon posts but they are so few and far between. I know it doesn’t help that his screen time is so little, but I know his tag would be dead if it wasn’t for the horny posting. lol I don’t want to shame anybody, but it’s just so much. 

That’s why I end up reblogging a lot of faceclaim posts, there’s just nothing really there to use on this blog and it sucks. Him being a side character doesn’t help but my crops are dying, guys.
