If you voted for Trump then I truly, sincerely hope you die or suffer immensely for what you’ve inflicted upon the world and the innocent people who don’t share your genocidal beliefs.

Also, I know this sounds cruel, but please do not send me fundraiser messages. I won’t go into specifics but long story short my litany of disabilities make it difficult for me to allot my time appropriately and I am… easy to take advantage of. Please be understanding. I do donate money for causes I believe in, especially to organizations and vetted fundraisers, but I do not wish to engage directly with them via DMs, messages, asks, etc.

People of all orientations, identities, races, and religions are welcome here. This includes identities and labels that seem contradictory. Life is short, the human experience is so vastly diverse, why not have fun with your labels? Oh you’re a polysexual he/him transmasc butch lesbian? Go off that’s awesome! You know as an American born in the late 90s I’ve watched my country blow up foreigners on tv supposedly in the interest of national security since I was a toddler but quite frankly we live on a natural fortress of a continent with friendly nations to our north and south and have been attacked on our own soil literally two times in the past hundred years and we have military bases on every inhabited continent on earth. It’s never made sense to do these things for “national security”. It never will make sense unless you value the shareholders of weapons companies over the lives of children. And apparently a concerning amount of people do.

I’m literally not a good person

The only times anyone ever likes me is when I suffocate my anger and frustration and grief and instead dedicate all of my energy towards helping them. No one likes me for who I am. No one likes hearing what I have to say. No one likes knowing my beliefs or values or aspirations. And I don’t blame them. I’m a terrible person after all. All of my desires are angry and ugly and bloody. I’m messy and mean. I’m only worthy of love and kindness when I go out of my way to make myself palatable and sometimes it’s hard to look into the eyes of someone who says they love you when you know damn well that they fucking don’t love you, they love the version of you that you’ve tailored to be easy to consume and enjoy, they love the version of you that’s a loyal dog with lots of tricks and no dissent.

just so i dont get jumped let me make it perfectly clear that idgaf whether you do or you dont experience sexual/romantic attraction or whether you do or you dont want to be in a sexual/romantic relationship but this pervasive mentality within a particular subgroup of people on here that claims that Actually platonic relationships are Better & More Complex & More Honest & Queerer than romantic/sexual ones is absolutely tone-deaf SPECIALLY because you are mostly aiming this kind of sentiment towards queer people who most likely have had their sexual & romantic relationships constantly scrutinized. & if you cant understand why thats a shitty thing to do then truthfully i think youre beyond helping

My least favorite new politically correct term is "unhoused." Like you can just tell it was created to make liberals feel less icky when talking about homeless people.

I was homeless. I was homeless as a child and as an adult. That shit sucks believe it or not.

The uncertainty. The ever-present grimy feeling from lack of access to running water. Having nothing to your name. The shame you feel is asking your fellow man for the bare minimum. Just so much shame, man.

"Unhoused" is so clinical. A technical term. Sure, its not incorrect, but it doesn't properly convey the emotional and psychological impact homelessness has on you.

You say "house", I think of a structure.

You say "home", I think of stability.

As someone who was also homeless as a child, you put my discomfort with this term into words perfectly. I once had to argue with someone who outright refused to use the term homeless because she worked with homeless people, even when I— an actual homeless person— was telling her that it felt like she was sanitising what I actually went through.

I wasn’t just without a house, I was fundamentally living on the outskirts of society without an ounce of stability, and sometimes not even shelter can relieve that. Sometimes I wasn’t unhoused, but I was still homeless.
