im just gonna answer them all rn because why not?
❤️: what’s the working title?
🧡: what were previous working titles/ideas?
Ive actually always been pretty set on the title but the other two books in the series had names that im probably going to throw out because they don't really fit anymore. For book two it was The Serpents Ring and for book three it was The Circlet of Stars
💛: what is the title based on?
The original story revolved around some word play with monarch butterfly's and while that plot line was scraped the butterfly's remain in the story as symbolism for power and the monarch crowns magic in general.
💚: how long have you been working on it?
oof sense like 2024? Its been awhile and yet i have made little progress...
💙: how has the idea changed between starting it and where it is now?
The story has evolved so much you have no idea but here's the brief run down.
-Original main character was named Lindsey she was an entomology major and also like ballet, in the current work she is a medieval Irish peasant that dies before the story even starts
-five of the seven original cast members were scraped
-THE ENTIRE PLOT CHANGED originally the main character had the monarch crown from the beginning and the story was about an evil crazy queen who was kind of possessing someone's sister.
💜: where are you in the writing process?
Writing the first draft
🖤: what are your MC names?
Fallon is the main character but Hawthorn and Belladonna also play big roles in the first book and Juniper becomes a main character in the second.
💔: give a brief character bio of your 3-5 MCs
Fallon, mortal that was adopted by a member of the fae court. She needs to prove her worth to her court before her eighteenth birthday or else she will get ripped apart by the monsters that killed her mother. She's very stubborn and likes to think she's all lone wolf when she is in fact very lonely.
Hawthorn, a prince of the court of Wasps and generally considered the useless sibling. He has mostly settled into his life of being mediocre as his title as prince guarantees him a place at court whether he is cared for or not. But when Fallon starts rising to power it becomes apparent his mother dose not care for him as much as he thought.
Belladonnas is the oldest princess of the court of wasps. She's known for her ability to effortlessly charm courtiers and is known to be very strategic if it means getting what she wants. Definitely not someone to be made an enemy of.
❣️: which scene has been hardest to write so far?
The second scene, its hard to know how to launch the plot without it feeling forced.
💕: what has your favorite scene been?
Sometimes ill dabble in scenes from later in the book, so I would say one of those scenes. Its right near the end which has Hawthorn and Fallon arguing.
💞: which future scene are you looking forward to writing?
I would say its probably a scene from the middle of the book because its Fallon outsmarting faeries which is always fun
💓: is it part of a series or standalone?
Series, probably a trilogy.
💗: what genre is it in?
Y/A fantasy
💖: are you planning on publishing it? if so, how?
I am hoping to publish but my plans on that front are vague sense I want to have the whole series before then that way I can assure Im giving them the best quality I can.
💘: give us a huge spoiler
AGGGGGHHH ok fine but im being cryptic. The Monarch Crown doesn't do what she thinks it dose and it fucks her over for the rest of the series.
💝: who has your favorite character arch? give a brief summary
Probably Hawthorns. He goes from, born with power but ignored by the public, he loses the little power he has left by the end of book one, then slowly through the rest of the series he gains attention and is valued for who he is instead of what he can do.
💟: how is your style different in this work compared to previous ones? has it more shifted for the story or just developed in general?
In book one is very interior for Fallon, she's very isolated so she definitely kind of spirals and is also just generally very biased which is fun!
