Deep Within the Forest of Thorns

This is an independent roleplaying account for Richea Spodune, one of the protagonists from Tales of Hearts. Timeline-wise, I will basically be making it as though she has somehow returned after the events of the game. As to how, that will be probably be fleshed out more later. “I’m just… going to go get Asteria, then.”  He couldn’t believe he suggested this and didn’t even have his Soma with him.  He left it on the beach because he planned on going to sleep, until he saw Richea wandering around.  He headed over to his favorite spot on the beach and picked up Asteria.

“You ready?!”

"You don't have Asteria with you..?" Richea blinked, surprised--partly because she hadn't noticed, but mostly because it was just unusual.

Well, apparently it wasn't far, since she was briefly left waiting while he went to get it. Huh... alrighty then.

"Yes, let's do it!"

“Oh… I’m not sure, Richea.  I can go check around the area where I found you again. If- Ah!”

“You think we can Soma Link with him?!”  He asked, excited about the idea.  This might work out after all… unless for some reason Kunzite didn’t have his Soma with him.

"Oh!" Why hadn't they thought of that before!? It would be difficult for Kunzite to be without his Soma, after all! Right away, the idea had her brightening up all over again.

"Yes, we should try it. That just may do the trick!"

“Have you found anything out about Kunzite?”  He wasn’t sure what else to ask or say at the moment.

"No... I haven't found any trace at all. Where could he be?"

Her peppiness was infectious. Kinda like Norma’s. “Yep. Things are finally looking up.”

"Were things going badly before?" She just couldn't help being curious.

“Richea! I see Richea!”

"Shing... why are you looking at me like that?"

When Richea jumped, Duke subtly raised an eyebrow. Did he startle her somehow? He wasn’t expecting that in the least. His face did not change other than that. He still looked the same.

It is probably a common mistake most people have with Duke. He’s not the type to go around and address you, and if you don’t catch his interest with your words enough to merit a response, he’d just ignore ou.

“I am merely observing.” He stated. He’s got his life plans figured out, that’s for certain.

Observing? Richea slowly nodded, though now she wondered what he was looking for. "I see..." She wasn't sure what else to say, except maybe to ask the very question floating through her mind. But somehow, she didn't get the feeling that would help anything. Still, it didn't feel like silence would help, either. Then again, maybe she was just too set on conversing here. All she could really do was guess, though.

"Well then, I guess I'll leave you to it." She decided finally, and moved toward a nearby building--an inn, to be more precise. Like it or not, she was beginning to realize it was about time she ate something.

“Good morning, Richea. Ah… went to get breakfast, and some stuff for the journey.”  He pulled out a muffin from the bag he was carrying.  Shing had no idea what Richea usually ate, so, out of habit, he picked what he and Kohak usually got.

Realizing this, he hesitated before handing it over.  “Um… do you like muffins?”

Richea stepped closer as Shing spoke, particularly when he brought up breakfast. She was already so hungry! It was a bit surprising, really. "Muffins...?" She looked at the muffin in Shing's hand, and then recognized what it was. "Oh! I've always wanted to try one!"

Richea didn't hesitate to reach out and take the offered food, and took a small bite from it to test the taste. It was pretty good! No wonder Kohak liked these so much. "Mmm, it's really good!" She commented happily, giving Shing another brief smile as she sat down on the bed nearby to finish eating.
