Not to defend men (they truly suck), but this is a common human trait that many people unfortunately have. I had my share fair of female friends that unfortunately stopped being friends after finding their partner. I wish people valued friendships more.

I totally get what you mean. I've seen this happen with female friends too and it's genuinely sad.

But I have to say in my experience, a lot of the time (not always ofc) it comes from toxic partners. Especially guys who fall into that misogynistic mindset. Once they get a girlfriend, they suddenly think she shouldn't have any guy friends anymore... I've seen girls lose male friendships purely because of that and it's complete bullshit.

Of course, I'm not saying this is always the case. Gender doesn't even matter here. Some people just love getting all the attention and ego strokes from friends and the moment they get a romantic partner, they drop everyone else 🙄

Either way, I agree... it sucks. I really wish people valued their friendships more. Even if it's just classmate friends or close friends, dropping them the second you get a partner is so immature.

And if your partner is so toxic that they "forbid" you from having friends... why the fuck are you even with them? 🤦🏻‍♀️

Another rant... yes, about men again lol

There's this guy in my class who's been pretty close with our group of girls for almost a whole academic year now. We'd chat about random stuff, classes, whatever... just normal classmate-friend vibes. Recently we found out he got a girlfriend from a history major (good for him). Ohhh but literally since last week? This dude has been acting so weird... he barely says hi to us anymore. Even when we sit next to each other, he doesn't really talk...

Suddenly he's just sooo nonchalant and cool 🤡😭

At first we thought maybe his girlfriend is jealous or toxic (telling him not to talk to other girls and all that), but yesterday she came to our class looking for him and she was actually super sweet and friendly. No mean girl vibes at all... so yeah, that dude's the problem.

Listen, we understand he has a girlfriend now and he's going to spend more time with her, that's normal and expected ofc... but not even bothering to say a proper hi to people you were chatting with every day up until last week?? That's just rude and immature as fuck

Unfortunately, I've seen this happen multiple times around me and it's happened to me before too. Guys using their female friends to stroke their egos, get attention, and even get good advice on how to get a girlfriend (that's exactly what we did)... AND then dropping them the second they actually get one 🚩
