Having to take my own notes in college that the professor did not make sounds frightening how the fuck am I supposed to know what is the most important and what isn’t and also my ass is not going to be taking any of that in if we’re going too fast and/or it’s math related

Write what you didn't already know, don't write everything.

Don't write word for word, use shorthand and paraphrasing. Its better for understanding and practicality.

I find that you can usually get a lot down if you focus on that. Don't worry about using full sentences or making your notes look nice or color coded - some people can do that! But it's not necessary and usually not helpful.

The average professor will have more or less an outline for each lesson of what the main/key takeaways are, or straight up say things that are important. You'll want to focus on those.

There are some professors that provide guided notes - it's ESPECIALLY common for math classes, in my experience! Sometimes they're required which I fucking hate, but if they're useful for you, well there you have it!

Math classes and math heavy classes will also usually have time in class for people to work in groups on practice problems. This is key time for clear step by step notes for methodology on certain problems.

And if you miss something in your notes? Most professors will post their class slideshow. That's without even worrying about office hours, which the vast majority of classes have as times outside of class where you can go to a professor or teaching assistant to ask for help. Familiarize yourswlf with the tools your college offers as soon as you can - it's always scary at first, but I promise it's in your best interest

I'm not actually a cannibal by nature. If you want to eat the corpses at your job, where people know when you're there, working on a body, possibly with other people, trying to secretly desecrate a corpse - by all means, go ahead! But I'm not trying to get caught doing illicit things, or fired.

Oh, plenty of things. I'm easy enough to please in my regular routine, surrounded by cadavers and questions and people I like... But! I've been plucked away from my work and society! Away from my dearest little children. You call me the jester, but it is you who are the fool~

I don't need a spectacular show. I don't care much for drama, and not even necessarily the thrill of the hunt - the thrill of mystery, on the other hand, of discovery, of examining a corpse trying to figure out what happened to it...
