ian, been ian for a while now but idk, due to identity issues (unrelated to transness) i tend to change my name every 8-12 months, just naturally growing out of an old one. I think i want to keep ian for a long time though, now that my friends know me by it and i've graduated highschool with that name.

male, FTM. i prefer the term transsexual for myself for a lot of reasons, though I don't really reject transgender or trans as self-descriptors. to start, it's an older term, so it feels like an act of kinship with trans people of the past. but also it feels more concrete to me, more simple than gender. whereas I've always known I would rather be male(series of physical traits), i've sometimes questioned my gender (personal and social identity). So it's just easier to say male or FTM, because I know my sex but sometimes I think I might be nonbinary if it were easier. but also being seen as nonbinary or called they/them makes me feel emasculated so?? it's confusing. gender's just a different beast than sex for me.
