Permission to get deep for a second?
The reason lifting weights helps treat depression is because you don’t just work out your muscles. You also exercise the ability to dispense motivation. Build up your power to motivate yourself, you’ll find yourself doing little things that need to be done. It’s not perfect, and it can be a really slow start, but it really does help.
It’s a lot easier to lift a dumbbell a few times than it is to clean your room, but if you push yourself to lift it you will find it easier to push yourself to organize your stuff or do the dishes.
Also you can punch harder.
I’m sorry for denying
This is true
If you’re healthy you probably don’t realize how demoralizing it is to spend all day in a hospital gown
But now a new collaboration is designing fashionable hospital gowns to encourage sick teens that they’re not “just a hospital patient.” See how they react when they try their new robes on.

This is amazing! AMAZING. Chronic illness does its best to strip you of your dignity, your control, and your identity. This is a great example of how things that might seem trivial to a healthy person, can make all the difference in someones life.
12 yr old me was like “i don’t have depression i just don’t feel happy no matter what”
standing up? more like lack of vision for 30 seconds and falling over a little bit
me: if you drink this coffee you’re gonna get jittery and anxious and you’re gonna feel sick later
my brain: good bean juice taste like chocolate make me go fast
When a flare is coming and I have no idea

those times when you wake up and your body is like “surprise! time to vomit!”
having a nice healthy bowl of ibuprofen for breakfast
That Spoonie Feeling
when you don’t eat and your stomach hurts so you do eat and your stomach hurts.
I may not have the best body but it sure does hold all my organs in place
this is the type of positivity i need.

Doctor: “So how have you been?”
Me: *Stares at Mother*
This is actually something that needs to be addressed. I know that everyone’s family/living situation is different but in my case, my mother takes care of me the majority of the time. What doctors DON’T seem to understand and DO seem to get really upset over is that when I look to my mother for an answer to a question during an appointment it’s because SHE is the one that takes care of me, on bad days and bad nights, SHE sees my progress and my setbacks, SHE is the one that observes my reactions and coping skills, SHE is there when my memory is not. When I look to my mother it’s because I know that I don’t have the answer and I know that SHE does. I’m NOT trying to trick anyone I’m just trying to survive these diseases, syndromes, symptoms, and conditions. And without my mother I wouldn’t have.
Shout out to mothers, fathers or any other person in our life that helps to take care of us <3
I’ve Survived Every Bad Day I’ve Ever Had, Motherfucker!!!
Abled people get all their accommodation needs met. Chairs are built at a certain hight. Light bulbs put out enough brightness. Shoes are made for their feet size. Stairs are made for their leg length. Cars are made for their body proportions. Books are printed for their eyesight. Counters and cabinets are made for their hight. Cloths are made for their body type and needs. Homes have enough space for them to walk around in.
The list goes on and on. They don’t think accommodations are an issue because the world was made for them.
