Play Icons
Icon design and way finding for an exhibition built around the virtues of play and its positive effects for young people.
World Cup Fever 2018
Ghost
Font design inspired Shenzhen, the Silicon Valley of hardware. The letter forms are tightly packed and dense much like the city itself and it visually draws influence 1990s and 2000s software aesthetics which is when the city went became one of the fastest growing in the world. And, whilst it’s leaps and bounds ahead of the west in terms of hardware production it’s visual presentation is still somewhat outdated.
Mural
Commissioned piece of work, an illustrative interpretation of cave formations, when on the wall it creates a surprising amount of depth and false perspective. Also if it’s used as an iPhone background, when you unlock the screen it reveals itself in an interesting way.
Void
Isometric Screen Print for void collective, limited edition run of 30 prints.
Scrun
Scrun, a video installation piece commentating on cellular existence capturing the POV of our phones as we engage with the world.Intentionally out of sync and focus, disorientating and discoloured with jarring cuts and off beat timing to mimic the half life of filtering everything through a screens blue lights. The content, the narrative, everything about the original footage is abandoned in service of the screen existence. For the Dysfunction exhibition.
Space for Thought
Animated identity of my dissertation ‘Space for Thought’ which looked at different creative environments and measured their impact on the people working inside of them as well as documenting my restructuring of the graphic design space inside of Manchester School of Art. The identity is based around some of the more interesting case studies, with their floor plan forming pseudo constellations drawing parallels to astrology and the idea of predetermination because we’re asking how much space defines our creative output.
500 Years of Struggle
A small sample of myself and Andrew Harrison’s work to raise awareness for the Zapatista cause and the First Declaration from the Lacandon Jungle. Building upon our research and work for the Reclusorio Look Book we felt compelled to do more and tell people about the plight of these people. To do so we typographically repurposed their declaration of wars most powerful statements and exhibited it alongside the full declaration to hopefully shine a spotlight onto a part of world history that is currently being overlooked. How Are You?
A one use book based around social anxiety. The book reads like a typical conversation with questions along the lines of How Are You? and responses like fine. However when you rip the pages apart you can reveal the true answers to these standard social interactions, exposed onto a now colourful landscape.
Death of the Author
Video of the book burning process.

Death of the Author (The Collected Essays of Roland Barthes)
Roland Barthes essay ‘Death of the Author’ argues that the context of the writer have no relevance in the interpreting the text. “To give a text an Author...is to impose a limit on that text”. I created a bespoke version of Barthes work: the font design, binding and layout were all informed by Barthes life.
Then I burnt it because it’s not relevant.
Jonathan Barnbrook, Feed Talk
Poster design advertising a seminar by typographer and graphic designer Jonathan Barnbrook at We Are Feed.
Provide Calendar

Dysfunction
An exhibition from 24 designers at Manchester School of Art. The branding and advertising was intentionally: impractical to better communicate the theme, Uncompromising to better represent the attitude of the exhibiting artists and cheap because this is a self funded student show.
Screen Degradation Vol.1
Screen Printing is finite, eventually the mesh will become so overused that an image will no longer come through. This zine explores the physicality of a traditional printing method by pushing it to its very edge, with each page turn it loses colour and vibrancy succumbing to the limitations of its medium into murkiness and eventually nothing. It’s an abstract but very tangible piece of communication about a side of screen printing that people may not be aware of.
Void
A2 Screen-prints for void collective with colour variant.
