Seems that people liked my previous post! Here’s a work in progress piece of the one thing I wish the game had (Bell Beast pet button) and some further elaboration on my Hornet design. There’s not many games where I can scratch my insect drawing itch, so I’ll take any opportunity I get. A moment of silence for the lineart that will inevitably get obscured by the lighting.

Sentient enough to be mean

This is interesting to come back to after having read the subsequent 5 books.

It makes me wonder if Murderbot had expected just bot pilots to be nice and dumb (sentient but not sentient enough to be mean), or it had just assumed all the machine intelligences to be at a minimum-sentience level - not enough to make them capable of becoming mean. That only constructs are sentient enough to be mean, owing to their organic brains.

Miki was nice. Tellus was nice. JollyBaby was nice. AdaCol2 was nice.

There was an evil CombatBot but it was how it was programmed to be that way.

Sentience as the source of enabling beings to be not-nice is interesting.
