I guess I should make one of these pinned introduction posts.

Hi, I’m Owl, I write fanfiction (usually) centered around Zeref from Fairy Tail.

Zeref is my favorite character and I hate that he never got the second chance most villains in the cast did.

I’m going to change that.

Works

Keeping Secrets -set during/ after the one year timeskip between Tartaros and Avatar. Natsu discovers his relation to Zeref while training and goes to Alvarez, drastically altering the events of the Alvarez arc. Winner of the Guild Awards, Best Canon, 2025 Term 1. Ongoing.

In a Skyforged Dream - Just before Zeref can cross into the doorway containing Neo-eclipse, Acnologia destroys the spell- causing him to wake up in the far away land of Skyrim. Fairy Tail/Skyrim crossover. Ongoing.

Coming Home- a oneshot, set in the same timeline as Keeping Secrets, focusing on a romantic relationship between the characters Invel Yura and Cana Albarona. Written for Alvarez Week 2025. Complete.

Savior In the Clockwork- A canon divergence post Alvarez, where time is turned back and all of the defeated Spriggan 12 are revived, and curiously, August coming back as a young man. After Alvarez’s victory, August attempts to bring two opposing sides of his family together. On hold

A Gift For You- a oneshot, set in the same timeline as Keeping Secrets, focusing on a romantic relationship between the characters Wall Eehto and Jenny Realight. Complete

Alvarez Winter Weekend 2025 Prompts- a collection of oneshots centered on different characters celebrating Christmas. Complete.

Shadows Over Earthland- A crossover between Fairy Tail and The Eminence In Shadow, where Cid meets Zeref and misunderstands everything. Ongoing.

Basic Fandom Etiquette Everyone Needs to Remember:

Creators do not owe anyone content. Do not ask writers when they will update.

If an author did not ask for [negative] criticism , do not give criticism.

Read the tags carefully before reading a fanfic.

If you ignored the tags and were upset, that is your responsibility, not the creator’s.

Disliking a ship does NOT give you the right to attack people who enjoy it.

Do not tell authors or shippers that their ship is “disgusting,” “wrong,” or “shouldn’t exist.” Shipping fictional characters is not a moral failing.

No one is obligated to justify why they ship two fictional characters.

Headcanons are PERSONAL interpretations, not universal truth.

Dark themes in fiction do not equal real life beliefs or intentions.

Leaving kudos or short positive comments genuinely matters.

Not every fanwork is made for you, and that is okay.

Scrolling past content you dislike is better than engaging negatively

Enjoying a fandom later than others does not make someone less of a fan.

Ever notice how in Christianity it’s always about how you God forgives or Jesus forgives, and you should seek forgiveness from God

But it’s never “you should seek forgiveness from those you have wronged” or “you should try to fix the wrongs you’ve caused”?

Ok so the evil servant didn’t forgive his own servant’s debts and got his ass whooped for not extending the forgiveness granted to him, ok…

But what if it isn’t a debtor situation but a victim situation? Would a victim be required to forgive their abuser regardless of what kind of abuse happened? If the trauma is too much for them to forgive them, or if the abuser does not care, should a victim be forced to just forgive their abuser and not seek justice?

Hi I saw this through a different reblog and saw your question in the tags. I'm a Lutheran seminarian and I took a class recently that was basically entirely over this question. I hope you don't mind me jumping in.

First off, there are absolutely Christian communities where the concept of forgiveness is abused and religion is used to browbeat victims into "forgiveness" where they just remain in abusive situations. This is also how our secular culture broadly defines forgiveness, as not seeking justice or remaining in a situation that causes you harm, and we have strong inclinations in our secular culture as well not to seek justice in a lot of situations, especially if it happened within a family. And there are places where Christianity makes that worse and...I would really hesitate to say that there's any places where Christianity makes it better except

In the class I took we worked with theological writings on the subject as well as sources from psychology and from a secular peacebuilding perspective. All of these fields operate on an essentially different definition of forgiveness. Forgiveness isn't necessarily the forgoing of justice or continuing a relationship, forgiveness is release of the debt/charge/harm that enables the victim's "return to subjectivity." This is the victim's ability to see themselves as whole, to not define themself as a victim, and to psychologically and emotionally heal. It's not something you can require of someone, it's something that people achieve over time with support.

You can forgive and seek justice. You can forgive someone and refuse to reconcile with them; reconciliation is a separate process from forgiveness. That might not sound permitted in this passage, but if we go back a little to Matthew 18:15-17, we have a really famous set of verses on Christian living, essentially Matthew's Guide to Resolving Church Conflict. It starts with tell your brother he has sinned in private. If he doesn't listen, get witnesses. If he still doesn't listen, go before the church (your local congregation; this is pre-institutional Christianity). and if he STILL doesn't listen, "let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector." So while 18:21-35 might seem to tell us that we have to let people keep transgressing against us, no matter how much it hurts us, 18:15-17 just gave us permission to break ties with the unrepentant. In Matthew, not everyone is your brother or sister. This is intracommunal advice.

I don't think Christianity has like a strong grasp on this necessarily, but it's also something really complicated that doesn't have easy answers. As a survivor of violence, I'm really committed to the definition of forgiveness that I offered above. Seeking justice doesn't heal victims in and of itself. Forgiveness and the return to subjectivity are absolutely essential for victims of abuse to heal, regardless of whether you look at it from a secular or a religious standpoint. So I wouldn't ever say a victim is required to forgive instead of seek justice, but I always want to be clear that forgiveness is a benefit to the victim, not the perpetrator.

That’s a difficult, but fair question. And not one with an easy answer, imo.

The passage above, as with other places in Scripture, explicitly command forgiveness. It does not offer exemption or conditions based on severity.

Now, with that said, I do think it’s important to note that (despite what I was taught in church growing up) it does not command immediate forgiveness.

This is from my own experience, but it took years, even after I decided for myself to become a Christian, to forgive the people associated with my trauma. I knew the Scripture, and often times I would privately say “God, I know you forgave me, but I don’t know how to forgive them!”

I was, through prayer, diligent work on my mental state, and with the support of loved ones, eventually able to forgive them. It doesn’t change what the perpetrators did but I no longer feel like they have a hold over me or my life. Saying that though, that is only my experience and everyone responds to things differently, also dependent on the trauma.

So does that mean, depending on the severity, the victim should not seek justice? I don’t think so. If I kill someone, get caught, and at some point through/ after my sentencing, sincerely repent, while it acknowledges I have seen what I have done is wrong, it does not negate I did indeed kill someone, and I would still have to serve out the remainder of my sentence.

Anyway, I know I’ve rambled a lot, but if I met someone struggling to forgive someone, I would encourage them to work toward forgiveness, without putting a time table on doing so. If it takes them days, great. If it takes them their entire life, so be it.
