“never kill yourself” is such a funny phrase to me that i think it’s accidently started working. its like an affrimation. say ‘never kill yourself’ enough times as a joke and maybe you won’t try to kill yourself over minor inconviences anymore
i made this image for the express purpose of this
The writer's barely disguised longing for a soft life shared with someone who loves them
Everyone: hey he's resurfaced after three months, what's wrong with Wei Wuxian?
Wei Wuxian: *nightmares* *flinches when approached suddenly* *drinking heavily* *violent outbursts* *won't talk about it* *always armed* *basically every symptom of PTSD we have*
Everyone: it's the necromancy isn't it
i remember when mdzs first came out and i didn't know shit about the genre yet, so my friend and i found it in a bookstore and she went "grandmaster of demonic cultivation???? what is 'cultivation'. google says it's practicing agriculture. how can you do that demonically." and i was like "farming evilly and deviously......"
anyways this exchange became ten times funnier when i read mdzs years later and got to the part where everyone thinks wei wuxian is establishing a horrible evil demonic sect with the wen remnants but he's actually just trying to farm so they don't starve. doing some straight up evil and demonic and devious farming.
wei wuxian's foolproof plan of making everyone believe that he is, in fact, not the yiling patriarch:
step 1: pretend to be a gay lunatic (he already was a gay lunatic)
step 2: throw step 1 out of the window as soon as someone disrespects the lan clan (his life-long crush's clan)
step 3: play the flute (the instrument well known as the yiling patriarch's spiritual weapon of choice)
step 4: summon the ghost general (the yiling patriarch's right hand man)
step 5: play a song composed by hanguang-jun that only him and the yiling patriarch have ever heard
step 6: flirt with hanguang-jun (his lifelong crush)
hang it in the louvre
Okay but I’m actually obsessed with “forever my girl” not just for the nice little warm fuzzies of it, but also because it implies that Nigel was following her career.
Like, she had recently gone semi viral, that’s true, but it seems less like this happened upon his for you page and more that he’s been watching Andy’s career. That he’s been reading every article she publishes, looking for her name, probably cutting out some of the best ones to keep.
For twenty years, he’s been following the career of this one smart silly sweet kid that he knew for eight months. It’s just so lovely and soft.
Shes so fucking hot
me when i’m in love with my boss

just watched the Devil Wears Prada 2 and i loved it. to me, it was an hommage to art in general, how our modern, fast-paced, AI-filled world has driven it to change and not change. how people still care about creating stories and about beauty and about pouring themselves into the things they love. how we must adapt where we must, and resist everywhere else. it has legitimately given me hope when the future of creative endeavours seems so bleak. there are people out there who balk at the techbros and the corporate sharks and who want to genuinely create things with their entire soul, and i'm here for it.
Devil Wears Prada tells the coming of age story of a young woman entering the workplace for the first time, dealing with unneccessary levels of bullshit only to emerge stronger and more knowledgable of the world and herself. She also falls in love with her scary boss. Their last scene is staring at each other, the boss smiling to herself when the young woman leaves.
Devil Wears Prada 2 tells the story of a crumbling world where the only thing that can save art and beauty and journalism from grabby hands of tech billionaires without souls is one billionaire with a soul, who is Jeff Bezos's ex-wife. The young woman from the first movie is still in love with her scary boss, the last scene is her staring at her boss lovingly and the boss laughing when the still very young woman leaves.
which could mean nothing
You can't convince me that she's not a lesbian
