Updating our new and interesting look at this painting.  Nothing surprises me anymore about the effects of light on Rothko’s work, but the fact that our very green shows blue and brown in different light is confounding. If you did not look carefully you’d never know they were the same painting. Rothko was concerned with how his paintings were lit and this drives that home,
