Telling a customer to “get lost”
My grandmother came into starbucks where I work today. She was the only one in line and my boss was standing next to me. I treated her like a normal customer, pointing out our new drinks and informer that we weren't serving pastries at the moment, ect, ect. After responding to a few of her questions as if she were a complete stranger, I add "So, uh... yeah, why don't you just get lost, eh?" and looked over to my boss. Words cannot describe the look on her face(Well, actually words CAN describe it. She was looking at me like I had just told a customer to "get lost"). I then held my composure for a good 10 seconds before breaking down and telling my boss what was going on. All three of us had a pretty good laugh. This job sucks sometimes, but at least I work with people who can handle a joke.
