ivybowen:
a long sigh worked as ivy’s reply, her head in her hands. she only ever worked as a mechanic, a job that had happened by accident, now she could decide what to do, she didn’t know what to choose. and she didn’t really feel like learning anything new. she only really had passion for witchcraft, but she wasn’t sure how to turn that into a job. a nod as she looked up at the other. “i’m fucked.”
Ari nodded, dropping the resume back onto the table, “You sure as hell are.” she shrugged, “Your best bet is gonna be to go into something illegal. Like Petty crime...or arson.” Her most violent and favorite crimes.

He stuffed a piece of bacon in his mouth “All work and no play makes Ari a dull girl. You. Need. To. Make. Friends.” He playfully scolded her before scarfing down another piece of bacon. “Fuck the chore wheel that shit is rigged. I am not going mowing the lawn again I got ate up by bugs last time.”
“All work and no play makes Ari able to help pay rent.” She responded with, digging into her pancakes. “I don’t even know how to mow grass and one of us have to do it.” She rolled her eyes, “You could just use bugspray or some other witchy charm to keep them from attacking your knobby ankles.”
adakaplan:
“Thank you. Cream, but no sugar.” She couldn’t stand her coffee too sweetened. Another small murmur of thanks when the menu is handed to her. Eyes brushed over it slightly, but Ada wasn’t hungry, just in need of something warm, and the coffee would suffice. “A little over a week ago.” She replied, putting down the menu.
Ari nodded, turning for a moment to get the coffee. It wasn’t the best in the area but it worked to sober up some of their overnighters so they could get the hell out. “Well then, Welcome.” She grinned, placing the cup in front of her.

Ada pushed her damp hair back over her shoulders, glancing to the side to make sure she’d actually put her umbrella out of the doorway. Glancing up at the offer, a soft smile crossed her lips, Ada stepping forward into the bar. Honestly, she hadn’t actually planned on walking in here, but the storm had kicked up faster than she’d thought it would, so ducking into the closest building had become her priority. And that just so happened to be the pub.
“Um, do you have coffee?” Not exactly the typical drink order, she was sure. But she definitely needed something warm, that was for sure. Slipping off her coat, she made her way to sit at one of the stools, placing the jacket next to her.
Ari’s head tilted a bit before she gave an even bigger grin and nodded. “We got coffee.” She assured her, “How do you take it?” She had never seen the woman before but people were always coming in and out of Echo. She placed a menu in front of her just in case she was hungry. They didn’t have a ton of food but enough. “When did you get into town?”

He set his plate on the counter in order to grab two drinking glasses “Well if it makes you feel better, as of today she’s been an angel for four months and eleven days.” He had to chuckle because of her reaction, it reminded him of his sister when she found out Whitney Houston died. The young man grabbed the orange juice, salsa and whipped cream from the fridge and set them on the table. He shrugged “I don’t know. Don’t you have friends from work or school? You could’ve had a study group.”
Ari huffed a bit, “She’s been an angel all her life thank you.” She filled a glass with water for herself before claiming her usual seat- tucking her legs underneath her. “I’m passing all of my classes and I don’t mix work and friendship.” Friends were always hard, she tended to be reserved around people she didn’t know that well but that was a habit. “Onto more important things, the chore wheel.”

Carter had just sent his sisters an email updating them on current events or lack thereof in his life before he made his way to the kitchen “You were singing so loud you probably woke Della Reese from her grave.” He shook his head as he snagged plates from the cupboards and passed her one. “Thanks for dinner.” He nodded in appreciation.
She slid the bacon onto a tray next to the rest of the food, grabbing Ari froze, her hands hovering over the plate as she stared up at all- all levels of innocent horror. “Della Reese is dead?” She never paid any mind to what was going on in the outside world; spent way to much time researching and looking for other answers. “She’s not dead. She’s an Angel. She said so on the TV show. ” She shook her head, finally taking the plate. “Who else was gonna help me eat all of this?” She asked as she made her own plate quickly.
Summer was coming - it had made itself known a few times in the last few weeks. But today, it was raining. Something Ada was grateful for. She much preferred the cool weather - an excuse to cover up. In the back of her mind, she knew clothing was a useless defense against the world, but it made her feel better, more secure some how. Still waiting on her supernatural pair, Ada felt somewhat defenseless, though she knew most of the people joining the town had been vetted.
Thunder rumbled overhead, glancing up, quickly hurrying the last few steps before ducking into the building. Despite her umbrella, her hair had managed to get wet, and after putting the umbrella to the side of the door, she shook out her hair gently, trying not get anyone in the vicinity wet.
Ari loved the rain. Soothing, Calm. A cleanse that washed away the nastiness of this week and really, this week hadn’t been the best. School was shit, Spring break was to far away and if one more drunk asshole slapped her ass at work- she’d burn the whole place down. Speaking of work...
Ari’s head cocked a bit when the door dinged and her eyes flickered from the window. “Hi there!” She grinned, “Need a drink?” The poor woman looked soaked, the wind probably knocked her umbrella around like a cat with a string. “We have Hot Toddys.” She offered. The pub was a bit deader now and she hadn’t seen that face before.

“ Walk with you, I'll be there all the time, I tell you I'll walk with you, See you through...” Ari wailed as she plated the last three chocolate chip pancakes- spinning on her heel to turn her bacon and check on her eggs. She had come home from class hungry- starving- and breakfast sounded so fucking good at 9 pm so here she was- blasting Della Reese and belting out the Touched By an Angel theme song as she set the Strawberry maple syrup aside to cool. Was Carter even home? Sure he was. Maybe he was sleeping? She glanced around at the pile of food. Well, he was gonna help her regardless. “Carter! There’s food!” Usually, she’d be polite and knock on the door and shit but, if she stepped away for even a second, her bacon would burn.
looking over her CV for what felt like the millionth time, ivy sighed heavily and pushed the papers away from her body. “i swear to god, applying for jobs should not be this hard.” maybe it was because she was being picky about the jobs she was applying for, but that was within her right, surely she deserved to enjoy whatever she ended up doing. sighing for a second time, what felt like a chuckle slipped past her lips. “what could make this easier?” the brunette asked to herself, but she would welcome any ideas from anyone who was paying the slightest attention to her.
Ari blinked, head cocking a bit and she reached for the CV over the table. “I assume you already know 30 languages and have 45 years of experience in your chose field?” She teased only a bit, the expectations of this generation in jobs was completely ridiculous. “Cuz if not...well you’re fucked kiddo.” Ari had tried to get a office job but had given up for bar tending-least she got decent tips.

Ari’s Birthday
howlettx:
After Ororo bugging him for the hundredth time to heck on Ari, Logan finally managed to get upstairs and to the door of her room. Holding her birthday present under his arm. He wasn’t sure what was up with his daughter, but her scent was off and she never didn’t celebrate her birthday. His daughter liked to party, it was definitely something she’d gotten from his younger days.
He gave a knock once, then twice, then just let him in because he wasn’t going to let Ari ignore him like this. It got to a point where it became disrespectful. He eyed his daughter who had clearly just woken up. “Yer mother’s worried ‘bout ya, kid.”
Ari yawned, rubbing roughly at her eyes before she was finally able to focus on Logan. Hm, when did he get here? “What’s she worried for?” She found herself asking, sniffing for a moment. “Do you have food?” She decided to focus on one thing at a time, mostly that she was hungry. Anything else Logan had to say. She sat up on her bed in her usual sleep shirt (Courtesy of Logan’s closet). “Like Starburst.”

“I would never laugh. I don’t laugh at all. Have you ever seen me laugh?” It was, in fact, taking all of Astrid’s concentration not to laugh.

“Roomie...” She whined, glaring at the pile of Black Forest and Cream Cheese icing on the ground. “Now we don’t have cake. Why did you convince me to walk across campus with a cake.” Still, Ari barely made another second before she burst into giggles, licking icing off her fingers.
