Hi! I’m Slug! I’m here for The Pitt/Call of Duty content and I’ll mostly be writing characters x reader stuff here. My Twitter/Ao3 is slug_3nthusiast, so think about giving me a follow there too; the majority of that stuff is ship content.
A lot of my posts will be SFW, but this is still an 18+ account, sorry! There will also be NSFW posts, so bear that in mind. Everything will be tagged appropriately! If you think that a tag is missing, let me know.
My demographic will mostly be afab!readers because that is content that pertains to me, unless it is ship content or simply a pairing. Asks/requests are open, and I hope you'll consider giving me a follow!
We have a charity picked, for those who haven't seen the updated carrd! Dancing through the darkness: a rabbot zine will be supporting doctors without borders!
Attention Pitt Crew our Mod team has officially scrubbed in! Please welcome Slug (@/slug_3nthusiast on twitter (X)) as our Writing Mod! He's been posting on ao3 for 2 years now.

Dennis grew up knowing damn well that he was different.
When he was old enough to identify colour, he was old enough to understand that he was strange. His brothers all had red strings. Why did he have yellow? It made no sense.
The first real awakening came when his eldest brother, Jude, who was twelve at the time, told his 'girlfriend' that Dennis had a yellow string. Dennis thought at six that a girlfriend was a bit of a silly concept at Jude's age. But that wasn't the main problem.
Jude's 'girlfriend' told her brother, who told his wife, and soon enough almost all of Broken Bow Nebraska knew about poor Dennis Whitaker, and how he was destined to never find true love. The old gossips in the cafe's in town would whisper behind their hands when Dennis came in holding his Mama's sleeve, shy and quiet. He'd always give them a toothy grin, and it would often earn him a small candy bar or a mini cookie. Now they refused to make eye contact.
His Daddy's friends stopped calling him 'champ', stopped taking him for rides in their cars. His Daddy stopped spending time with him, too, and he became meaner when he drank at Sunday dinners. Mama never said anything. Because of their string, apparently. She wasn't allowed to.
Kids at school would make fun of him, or ignore him, all other than his best friend Andrew. Andrew was a lot bigger than him, and he scared the bullying kids away.
The worst, though, was church.
The pastor did a sermon the week after the news got out, where he told everyone about how some people were sinners, and how they were straying from God's path. How anyone who did not stick to the life that God had set for humanity would be cast out of heaven before stepping foot through the gates.
At six years old, Dennis Whitaker's faith began to waver.
At eighteen, Dennis decided to break the cycle and go to college. It was relatively local, and he still had to stay at home, but his father more or less left him alone as he wasn't at the farm as much anymore. He was sick of the bruises and the screaming matches and the fear when his Dad did get angry, just tired of how his brothers joined in and how second-youngest Isiah would hit harder than their father did.
He mostly hated how little his Mama did to help. She ignored the bruises and the crying and Dennis hated how she would get quiet if he wanted a hug or a conversation. She'd mutter something about how he'd become too soft, and how he needed to rejoin God if he truly wanted to live correctly.
So he left on his twenty-first birthday. He left a note for Andrew, and one for his Mama, before taking the chance and hitchhiking to Pittsburgh after his application to a different college had been accepted.
A couple of years after moving, Dennis found himself without a home. His savings had run out and he didn't have anywhere to go. He was scared - and frankly ashamed - to ask for money from family, and there weren't enough shelters close to his work. Thankfully, whilst doing internal medicine at PTMC, he discovered the abandoned floor that he ended up moving into. Just for a while, he told himself. Just until he got back onto his feet.
His string has been abnormally tight for a couple of weeks at least. Probably more. Dennis had more or less forgotten about its existence until recently. It's strange, though, when he woke up to get ready for his first day at PTMC's emergency department.
The pull was almost ridiculous, and it got worse as he got up to freshen up. His mind was racing with the fear that his soulmate was a patient. He'd learned - only after leaving Nebraska - that he had a string leading to a platonic soulmate. That wasn't so bad, right? If it was a patient then at least he wouldn't be romantically involved.
The first person he saw made his heart drop. There was a woman in the locker room, striding towards him as if she wanted to kill him but was simultaneously on the verge of throwing up. He looked down and his stomach dropped through the floor as he found his eyes drawn to her hand; specifically the yellow string that was connecting them. It was positively glowing.
He looked back up at her and watched as she hesitated. She looked as though she was going to scream, but then, suddenly, all that came out was a timid: "hi."
Established rabbot who fuck hard and fast and a little gross, I’m talking grew up heavy in the underground queer scene and exposure to the culture gave them a very liberallllll exposure to kink.
Then they start dating little (kinda sheltered but grew up on the internet) Gen Z Dennis- with his queer culture mainly formed on message boards and tumblr and a very radically progressive view of queerness that’s kinda sanitised.
And then when he watches his boyfriends fuck for the first time, tugging at leather harnesses and spitting in each others mouths he just sits there in his little tight white boxers and socks, cross legged, eyes wide and scandalised and whispers …. Guys do you know you can’t say faggot anymore, it’s like, a slur
Dennis housesitting for Robby and 2 weeks in, Jack shows up? He has been in contact with Robby a little bit but didnt want to push too much. But he is worried and just generally doesn't do well alone and now on top of it all he has 3 consecutive days off and isnt coping. He doesnt do well when alone and just wanted to hang out at Robby's place for a bit, he forgot Dennis was staying there.
Dennis sitting on the sofa in old sweats and a big shirt that might be Robby's, spoon of ice cream halfway to his mouth as he stares at Jack a little wide eyed. Jack just sighing and flopping down on the sofa next to Dennis and taking the spoon to eat the ice cream himself.
Dennis totally going "can I do something for you, sir- Jack?" And Jack just looks at him funny and then gruffly asks if Dennis heard from Robby and Dennis goes soft cos he realises Jack is missing Robby...
Maybe Robby even texted Dennis about Jack, told him Jack might get lonely...
Dennis inviting Jack to stay for a movie and then saying that he is sleeping in the spare room, but Robby sure wont mind if Jack stays in the master bedroom for a night. Just because it's late and Jack's leg is clearly hurting so he shouldnt have to walk back home. Definitely not because Dennis can see how alone Jack feels with Robby...
Dennis texts Robby a photo of Jack knocked out on the sofa later to let him know he came over and that Dennis will keep an eye on him. And robby instantly just texts back "Tell him I'll call him tomorrow morning. Miss him too. Miss both of you."
Getting time off together can sometimes be a challenge, so when the stars do align in their favour, Jack likes to go and pick Robby up after his shift, so they don't waste a moment of it.
The thing is, yes Noah Wyle is a middle aged man who is probably by most of the public perceived as white and that's how he's been looked at for most of his career and the characters he has been cast to play in the past generally have not been Jewish.
I also believe he hasn't been used to being quite this public facing for most of his career so sometimes in interviews he words things in a way that may not be the best wording or may just have the right fodder for someone who went into it planning to use it in bad faith the whole time.
Thinking about this because apparently recently in an interview one of the reasons he stated that people wouldn't want a night shift spin off is because it's "mostly mothers who work nights so they can be home with their kids during the day time" and of course some people on Twitter were eating it up as proof that he devalues the labor of women and hates mothers etc.
I personally think he thought he was saying that the dialogue and interpersonal storylines would likely mostly be about these women talking about their kids and the cases would be slow and there wouldn't be much of the "juicy ship fodder" some fans seem to think is the only thing important about the show (it isn't) but he definitely could have worded it better.
And for the record, I still don't want a night shift spinoff and think it would be received terribly by every person who screams that Robby is such a horrible woman hating conservative and Abbot is their "woke king" (okay, bruh/sis why is the pro-cop veteran more woke to you than the Jewish man with complex mental health issues) not to mention I do believe especially in the early morning hour episodes the cases would involve things that might require more moral nuance (like domestic violence with the woman being the aggressor, or saving the life of someone who drove drunk, or some strange sex injury) that would absolutely break their secretly as puritanical as the worst conservative minds, but I do think Noah said the wrong words.
But also, also as someone who also follows several of the actors that are directly in Noah's friend group, it isn't solely white men, but even the ones who are all openly highly intelligent liberal activists who weaponize their white manness to make people listen to the stories of non-white people and they all adore Noah. Some of them even do advocacy for The Pitt despite not yet appearing on the show.
And maybe just maybe the idea that these are the people Noah surrounds himself with should tell you more about who he is as a person and what his opinions about The Pitt are than some purposefully bad faith take by some kid who isn't even out of highschool yet.
I see why yall wanna get robby pregnant, he’d love walking with his hand on his back and groaning about how sore he is. He probably does that without being pregnant
