Thinking about how Anya’s hair reflects her identity…It was originally curly and brown, then she became a vengeance demon and kept it straight and brown, repressing her love but not her anger. Then she was with Xander and kept it curly and blonde, repressing her anger but not her love. No matter where she is, she can never be entirely her true (natural) self, feeling both anger and love fully and truthfully.
