finally got round to reading the secret history at my big age. wdym there’s a character called spike who’s in a biker gang and fights people

#i guess he didn’t really fit into whatever oxbridge stan aesthetic the dark academia lot had going on in 2016 #review thus far: it is well written but as someone who was slightly too old for that trend when it was happening #reading this feels like being someone’s mum finding out what twilight was about a decade late #like oh. i see why so much of tumblr is obsessed with dualism and the primal now. you all read beauty is terror as teens #and now we’re here!#anyways thank god this book’s resurgence came too late if i’d read this when i was in my teenage classicist era there’d’ve been no survivors #now i just get to find them all entertaining but kinda insufferable and wonder if that spike guy is ever coming back
