guys whatever you do don’t imagine that wyatt callow and hank olson had the same last words. “I did it all wrong” for Hank means that he failed to realize that just analyzing the walk wouldn’t be enough to win. His technical nature wasn’t enough to help him stay alive, to help him get home to his wife. For Wyatt, the words are less desperate. He may have miscalculated his odds, hence why he “did it all wrong,” but his sacrifice gave someone else more time. While Olson mourns for how his miscalculation may have caused his family to never escape their misfortune, Wyatt’s miscalculation gave Lou Lou another chance at life. Where Olson failed, Wyatt succeeded but in the end they both did it all wrong.

Okay, time for a rant on the horny cod-fic blog because I'm tired of seeing this.

'09 Ghosts backstory ≠ Reboot Ghosts backstory.

Yes, it's perfectly fine to use the 09 backstory for Reboot Ghost, but it is not canon. We know next to nothing about Reboot Ghosts backstory besides "he worked with Mace at some point", and because the reboot has changed many things from the og games, we don't know if any part of the 09 backstory applies to Reboot Ghost.

Don't get me wrong, I'm the first person to use the 09 backstory for the Reboot, but don't get pissy with people who don't apply it to Reboot Ghost. It's not confirmed canon.

Plus, Ghost is the fucking "strong, masculine man who doesn't need anyone else" male fantasy character from the military propaganda game series, and he is fictional. Fandom is for playing with our favorite characters like toys, and sometimes that involves making different backstories for them.

Someone ignoring the 09 backstory or simply not considering it canon to the Reboot isn't the end of the world, and you can simply move on.
