Turning around, you looked at the alarm clock on your nightstand and rubbed your eyes. The red neon numbers showed that it was 7:35 a.m. You felt your boyfriend wrap his arm around your waist and pull you toward him.
“Jimin. It’s 7:35. I need to start getting ready for work.” You yawned, trying to get up. He ignored you and kept his arm around your waist.
“Just stay in bed for five more minutes.” He whispered. He began to place sweet, tender kisses along your shoulders, inching his way up towards your neck.
Turning to face him, you softly pressed your lips to his, causing him to tighten his grip on your waist as he pulled you closer.
Before he could deepen the kiss, you pulled away, “Can I get ready now?
"Can’t you just stay home today? The boys and I finally have a day off.” Jimin asked, burrowing his face into the crook of your neck.
You pressed your lips to Jimin’s forehead, “As amazing as that sounds, I rea-"
"Jagi…you know we hardly get to spend time together. Can you please just stay?"
You stared into his eyes and sighed, "Fine, but when we get up, you have to help me make breakfast."
You sunk back into the bed, reaching out to intertwine your fingers with Jimin’s. He stared down at your face as you played with his hand, watching, studying every centimeter of it. He loved how your nose scrunched up every time he squeezed your hand. Or how your eyes gazed over to his lips every now and then. Both of you were happy, in love, you never wanted this moment to end. He gently kissed the top of your head before dozing off again.
You hadn’t felt yourself fall asleep but when you woke up, you felt relaxed and rested. You looked over at a snoring Jimin and pressed kiss to his cheek.
Careful to not wake him, you slowly got out of bed and headed towards the bathroom, leaving Jimin in bed.
Turning on the hot water, you jumped into the shower and began to do your morning routine.
Quietly humming, you shut the water off and stepped out of the shower.
"Hey y/n. Can I brush my teeth?” Jimin yawned, sticking his head into the bathroom.
You quickly covered your body with a towel, “Jimin! Have you ever heard of knocking first?"
"Y/n. How long have we been together?”
“Two years.” You answered, holding the towel against your body.
“Exactly. Two years. We’ve had sex. I’ve seen you naked before. I just need to brush my teeth.” He laughed, making his way to the sink. He grabbed his toothbrush and opened the tube of toothpaste.
Making sure the towel was secured around your body, you ran into the bedroom and closed the bathroom door behind you.
Hoping Jimin wouldn’t come out soon, you grabbed a bra and some underwear and quickly pulled them on. You decided to wear some jeans and a simple t-shirt.
Your bare feet padded against the floor as you made your way into the kitchen.
Grabbing all the ingredients for pancakes, you set them on the counter and began to pre-measure them that way Jimin wouldn’t accidentally mess it up. Setting everything aside, you pulled out giant mixing bowl.
“Starting without me?” Jimin pouted, you shook your head.
“Of course not. You’re going to do most of the work.” You laughed, leaning against the counter.
Sitting on the counter, you slowly walked him through every step making sure he didn’t accidentally spill anything.
“Does it matter which we mix in first? It’s all going into the same bowl anyway.” Jimin asked, carefully pouring in the milk.
Before you could answer, he had already began throwing all the ingredients in.
“I like to call this the Jimin Technique.” He laughed, his face covered in flour.
“More like the Make a Huge Mess Technique."
Jumping onto the floor, you made your way to the stove.
"Just keep mixing it until you think it’s ready.” You said, as you placed the skillet on the stove.
“There. I added chocolate chips because I wanted make them special.” He brought the pancake mixture over and placed it on the counter.
You poured a bit of batter into the pan and waited for it to turn golden around the edges before flipping it.
“Wait. How do you know when to flip it?” Jimin asked, leaning over to look into the pan.
“You wait for the edges to turn a golden color. Then you flip it.” You explained, as you flipped the pancake onto a plate.
“Here.” You handed him the spatula, and poured some batter into the pan again.
“Wait. I’m not ready for this kind of commitment. What if I burn my pancake?"
"Just keep an eye on it. When you feel like it’s ready, flip it. I’m going to head to the store for some milk.” You explained, kissing his cheek before heading out.
Jimin watched the pancake, making sure it didn’t burn.
He gripped the spatula and waited. He tried to find some sort of entertainment in cooking.
“How can Seokjin hyung find this so fun?” He sighed, tapping his foot as he waited for the pancake to cook.
Suddenly, he forgot all about the pancake and began tapping his feet and humming as he banged the spatula against the stove.
Bringing his attention back to the stove, he flipped the pancake. It was charred on one side and slightly undercooked on the other. He took the pancake out of the pan and tossed it into the trash can.
“Take two. Come on, you got this."
Jimin poured more batter into the pan and began again.
Opening the door, you walked into the apartment. The smell of delicious chocolate chip pancakes filled the living room, you shrugged off your coat and walked into the kitchen.
Jimin stood there, quietly humming and tapping the spatula against the counter before flipping the pancake onto the plate.
Walking over to Jimin, you wrapped your arms around his waist and looked over his shoulder.
"I’m proud of you. You didn’t burn any.” You laughed, looking at the mountain of pancakes he had made.
Jimin turned around and pulled you closer to him. He cupped your face and leaned in to kiss you. It was soft and sweet.
Pulling away, he smiled, “It’s called the Jimin Technique."
