jin in the âYOUNG FOREVERâ jacket episode
i know things now - jin/belle
Truly, even Belle herself wasnât sure why she had invited the other to a study session of sorts outside. Perhaps it was because of the years and years of etiquette lessons which ingrained into her the need and knee-jerk reflex to be polite with everyone, even if it was a manipulation technique of hers. Either that, or it was her initial thought that usually distant Slytherin would only consider her offer shortly before declining politely and letting the two part their ways merrily.
Then again, being in the company of Jin (she was pretty sure now that this was the Slytherinâs name) was much more tolerable than that of some of her Housemates who canât seem to stop yapping on and on about the latest fashion trends and whatnot.Sometimes, it surprises her how shallow and vapid their points of discussion can be.
It slips Belleâs mind that she can share a table with someone or try to look for an unoccupied seat even though one of her schoolmates could already be using the table. The Ravenclaw knew she intimidated most people with how she looked and how she held herself in front of most people, and she wasnât afraid to use it as an advantage, but alas, the iinvitation to study outdoors had already slipped past her lips just as the thought came to her.
The Slytherinâs smile gives Belle the impression that he used said action in numerous occasions which called for the male to placate the person he was speaking to or to simply throw them of their guard. Nonetheless, the brunette nods and offers the other a small smile of her own before making her way to the exit point which she knew would lead to the Great Lake. Belle could be regularly seen near the banks of the lake, leaning against the thick and sturdy trunk of a large tree near the body of water.
Shooting a glance at the male walking next to her, the brunette says nonchalantly, âPardon me for saying so, but Iâm quite surprise you had accepted my invitation.â Raising an eyebrow as a corner of her lips quirked upward, the half-Veela muses, âI had the impression that you werenât quite the people person, so to speak.â
Not the people person? Perhaps the girl has never seen him outside the doors of the library then. But then again, he's never caught sight of her anywhere too but that will probably have to do with how his peers are always crowding over him so it's nearly impossible for him to notice any passerby's. He would have greeted her if he ever did end up seeing her but it seems she's not that much of a people person herself. At least someone had assumed something right about him for once. In spite of how he's always surrounded by his friends, Jin genuinely does prefer solitude over companionship.
In fact, he could have easily rejected the Ravenclaw's offer because 1) she's a Ravenclaw and Jin never really liked them, and 2) he hates studying with someone. But due to the fact that they've been seatmates in the library for quite some time, it doesn't seem to feel right studying at this point of day without her. Even though they rarely have exchange of words, he has gotten far too comfortable and perhaps a tad bit reliant of her presence.
That can't be good.
Nevertheless, a breath of amusement slips past his lips at the girl's words. "I suppose we don't see each other that much outside the library then." He offers her a fleeting glance with a smile before redirecting his attention back on their path. "No, I like people. There are just moments where I prefer to be by myself. I'm certain we all have those moments." He has those moments 24/7 but nobody needs to know that, do they? And honestly, the last person he wants finding out about what kind of person he really is, is this girl.
Which is quite odd since he still couldn't put a name to her face.
"You do give the impression that you aren't exactly a people person either." Â He adds as an afterthought, recalling how the girl barely makes an effort in having a small conversation with him. Not that he ever minded, of course. It's just something he's noticed and is not at all bothered by it. Not at all.
âď¸Â âđđ đžđšđđ'đ đđđˇâ âjin & peach
life was full of contradictions and paradoxes and heecheon had always found them beautiful and fascinating. until he was met with someone who seemed to be the perfect embodiment of one.Â
it made his skin crawl, being touched and having someone he didnât know very well in his close proximity, spreading anxiety and goosebumps along his skin like a wildfire in through the thicket of a forest. the touch against his face was tender and warm, yet the action itself - seokjinâs tone and face were dripping with mock affection and felt little more than condescending and humiliating and caused his body to barely suppress a tiny flinch.Â
heecheon was in a pinch. the situation seemed impossible to slither out of - no pun intended - and the previous thought of simply turning around and leaving vanished into thin air. resignation followed and it hung heavy in the air, like a dark cloud about to release thunder and lightning and destruction.Â
and seokjin didnât seem like he was joking.Â
the tension left his body and round shoulders slumped instead, as coal eyes finally gave in and averted their gaze towards the ground. everything that was thrown at his head in the seemingly most detached manner was true and heecheon knew that. he was very well aware that another accusation for an attack would get him into trouble he didnât know how to and couldnât so simply get out of.Â
from one moment to the other seokjin changed from someone who managed to bring him the smallest spark of hope in an otherwise hopeless situation, to a serious opponent, who had played check mate against him. and he seemed ready to take whichever measure he would need to reassure that he would keep the upper hand.Â
unspoken words were hanging in the air between them, as obnoxiously loud as giant bells on the top of a cathedral while the room remained silent. seokjinâs implications were all too clear and in that one moment that heecheon had lost his temper, he did seem like a monster.Â
âwhat do you want?â yet, seokjin was still standing in front of him and talking. he didnât run off to tell a teacher or file a report which could only mean that he was hoping for their conversation to meet a very specific end.Â
the flaxen head lifted, feline eyes meeting the taller maleâs without hesitance. he had found himself cornered often enough and always managed to find a way out of the situation with his dignity still in tact; he would manage to do the same now. after all, seokjin was nothing more than another bully who was most likely trying to cover up his own insecurities by poking at someone elseâs. at least thatâs what heecheon hoped.Â
though, the cruel contradiction of seokjinâs very being seemed to hint at something else.
âif itâs something as uncreative as money or me doing your homework i will be extremely disappointed with the outcome of this.âÂ
With the burgeoning delight of discovery, Jin could see the distrust and dislike rolling within his companion. It is a display that he had stopped growing accustomed to but still yearned for it anyway. He couldn't remember the last time someone had asserted such a negative expression towards him and it feels like a breath of fresh air. Jin's countenance is guileless, but he is systematically turning over stones, searching for a weakness. The way Heecheon's body had tensed up just by the mere brushing of his fingers on his skin is enough for the Slytherin to assume that he's like a delicate flower who looks like he would bruise if you so much as brushed a petal.
Unless you anger him but honestly speaking, Jin doubts Heecheon would let himself lose control again after this.
At the Ravenclaw's question, a subtle spark of interest glimmers within the blond's hazel-hued eyes. The conversation is now on a knife edge at this point and he likes where it is going. The look of utter defeat in Heecheon's eyes causes his pulse to leap in excitement. Knowing so little about him though, Jin gives no credence in seeing the Ravenclaw being good for something convenient, but perhaps it wouldn't hurt to have someone be scared stiff by the sight of him. Though in this case, Heecheon is probably more afraid of the possibility of him reporting to the Ministry but Jin is not an idiot.
Even if he had decided not to take advantage of the circumstances at hand, he still wouldn't tell anyone about the shorter blond's secret simply because he doesn't give a damn. What lies in other people's future holds no significance to him after all, so whether or not Heecheon does get taken away by the Ministry without him being the snitch, Jin wouldn't even notice and his reputation would stay safe: neither a snitch nor a two-faced asshole.
But that's probably happening in a different universe. Heecheon is unfortunate enough to land in this one.
Jin's smile falls in distaste at Heecheon's assumption of him being petty. Who in the world does he think he is? Why would Jin rely his educational and financial stability on a Ravenclaw? The life of a Ravenclaw never lasts long. That's what curiosity can do to you and if Heecheon has little time left, then Jin is certain he isn't worth relying on.
In spite of how his classmate has him riled up to a meager degree for what he said, Jin naturally maintains his composure-- faultless. The assumption now has him challenged. He extends his right leg slightly, the tip of his well-turned boot presenting itself to the Ravenclaw.
"Kiss it." He says, his eyes and his voice short of emotion. "And don't make me repeat myself."
look at me - jin/jungkook
jungkookâs always known jin to be sweet (from what heâs seen and heard, at least), so itâs no surprise to him that the older is returning the smile even if it is smaller than his own. he doesnât mind that one bit, though; most slytherin tend not to smile quite as much as him, and even if it is a stereotypical to think, itâs still pretty damn true (he smiles widely and oftenâ often enough that yoongiâs called his biggest smile a âbunny smileâ because of how his teeth somewhat resemble that of a rabbitâs).
however, no matter how charismatic heâs heard jin to be, he never actually expected the upperclassman to say something like this to him. his eyes are lighting up a little at the offer because really, how sweet.
âah, thank you,â he pauses, turning over the offer in his mind before his smile actually turns a bit sheepish, âbut⌠namjoonie already has me worked into his schedule.â heâs saying it as nicely as possible as if not to offend jin or anything of the like; thatâs really the last thing he wants to do.
somehow, though, it still doesnât sound quite right to just leave it at that. he falls into a momentary silence, trying to think of a better way to word it other than making it sound like he doesnât want to simply because namjoon is already tutoring him (wellâ namjoon and partially yoongi, considering the two sometimes work on his study guides together and any question he has when namjoon isnât around is automatically asked to yoongi).
he rubs the back of his head with a hand, fingers absentmindedly twirling the ends of a few strands. itâs more of a nervous habit than anything, and even if he really isnât nervous it still comes out sometimes anyway â especially when heâs trying to think like he is now.
âi-itâs not that i donât want you to or anything, though!! i just.. namjoonie offered to help me a while back, so i donât want to take up time you could use to help someone else.â
he thinks he worded that rightâ well, hopes so, at least.
Namjoonie. He's already making nicknames for that damn Hufflepuff and it takes everything in Jin's willpower to maintain his smile. It doesn't make any sense to him as to why Jungkook had never bothered to approach him first before doing the unthinkable and have a Hufflepuff assist him as though he doesn't have a shred of dignity within him. Does this kid have any idea what kind of front he's putting up for their house? For him? Jin could have easily knocked some sense into him but somehow, Jungkook appears to be rather thick-headed-- the stubborn kind.
Jin watches him with the same cerebral attention that he might apply to a strategic problem, seeing the sheepish tension lace the younger Slytherin's movements. His hazel-hued eyes follow Jungkook's fingers that have inattentively come up to the back of his own head in nervous habit. And when an attempt of saving face by making an excuse about why he never asked for his help in the first place had surfaced, Jin just stares down at him in a mixture of disbelief and feigned patience.Â
Jungkook doesn't seem to be comprehending the gravity of the situation here. Jin has finally offered his help to him which is something he rarely does, now that most underclassmen have been feeling too comfortable around him.
Jungkook shouldn't be rejecting his offer. He should be celebrating it.
The simple thought of it has almost outstripped the older wizard of words. The brat is so clueless, a woman could have undressed herself to seduce him and he would ask if her clothes made her uncomfortable in a genuinely concerned tone.
"Well, don't you think you should give Namjoon's free time to someone from his own house?" He asks in a tone that could also insinuate, 'you're so cute when you're stupid.'Â "I'm sure there are a lot of Hufflepuffs... struggling academically. They can have Namjoon." He waves his hand at the latter part of his sentence as though Jungkook's friend is of little importance to him; which he is. "And you have me. So what do you say?"
shut him up - jin/himchan
Himchan has been taught to never judge somebody based on their past actions or the houses theyâre belonging to and thatâs a rule he is trying to live by to be a good person; he has always found it stupid to judge someone without knowing them. Do people even have the right to judge others? Nobody is perfect and unless someoneâs job is to make sure that the law is being followed, another personâs wrong-doings shouldnât be judged and gossiped about without knowing all details and the whole story from all sides. He knows that everyone loves a good drama every once in a while if he pays attention to the talks among the students - and even ghosts - but Himchan doesnât find any interest in them. Itâs stupid but then again, isnât he judging them by finding their actions stupid? He can feel a headache appearing at the back of his skullâÂ
Seokjinâs blond hair snaps him back to reality and thatâs when he remembers why he has thought of judging somebody based on their house in the first place because clearly, the Sorting Hat hasnât made a mistake when it comes to the Slytherin. How fitting. Once the shock of that unexpected meeting has worn off, he canât help himself but to stare for a moment a bit too long while he is attacked by memories of shared smiles and laughter and games in the grass until, hah, once Seokjin got what he wanted, he completely rejected young Himchan and left him crying by the playground because wow, has his friend been playing with him all along? Why yes he did.Â
The Hufflepuff wishes he could be snarky and have something smart to reply that would have the other student close his mouth and regret coming to his help but Himchan can only cling onto the three thick books he has managed to gathered in his arms before he stands up, his face still red from shame and embarrassment. He can only let his eyes fall to the ground, well aware of the otherâs eyes on him and it makes him feel uncomfortable, analyzed even and he just dislikes being the center of attention of even one person. It doesnât seem like Seokjin is willing to let him walk away that easily though and he briefly wonders if itâs because he has another plan in his mind to break himâ No. Seokjin is smiling and he is being helpful when so many of his housemates have been the complete opposite. Surely that could be all an act⌠But Evie told him once to try and see the best in people and Himchan wants to follow this advice.Â
âThank you,â He eventually murmurs, wants to reach for the books Seokjin is holding but resists the urge to do so. Dark brown eyes glance up, then around. He can see the other Slytherins students watching them in a way that is definitely not enjoyable and he resists the urge to shudder: he needs to get out of there quickly because he can feel nervousness rushing through his veins, anxiety crawling all the way up to his throat and, and his chest starts to hurt because he canât breathe, he justâ âThe lake. Iâmâ Itâs⌠Iâm going by the lake.â He exhales shakily, doesnât care if Seokjin follows or not, if he finds out about his secret spot or not, all Himchan knows is that he has to go outside now. And so he does.Â
Jin knows what he's signing up for. In spite of being looked up to by most wizards and witches, that still doesn't tamper with the fact that he's Muggle-born and hence, still being the recipient of unfavorable treatment from other Slytherin's. They apparently still havenât moved on from the medieval times where wizards and witches actually think Muggle-borns are thefts and stole their magic. It is rare now but it still happens, much to his annoyance. Though, there are times wherein he believes theyâre mistreating him for other reasons. It's conclusively not his fault that they're thick-headed enough to have a Mudblood constantly overshadow them.
Regardless of that, being seen helping out a Hufflepuff will surely add another reason to their list of why they should make his life a bit harder to live. He could feel their calculating gazes lingering on the two of them as he smiles at Himchan, also noticing the flickering change of tension in the other male, as if his words have provoked an internal battle.
As the Hufflepuff makes an attempt of a response, Jin fleetingly shifts his eyes to the side where his fellow Slytherin's are nearby and the very second he did so, they all promptly look away as though they were caught doing something repulsive. Which they probably are. He casts his attention back on Himchan while skillfully maintaining his gentle smile. "The lake?" He repeats though miffed by the idea of having to go outside. He's not the outdoor-kind.
But before he could even have the opportunity to suggest a different location, Himchan hastily brushes past him-- evidently uncomfortable with the crowd and the lingering stares of the other students. A nerve works along the blond's jaw in annoyance.
Adding another brat to my list.
He turns and catches up with him anyway. Again, he couldn't lose track of him until he convinces him not to tell a word to anyone about their past. "Quite a nice choice to study at. I can't believe I haven't thought of that before." He comments, his voice dripping with poisoned honey. "Oh, I believe I haven't introduced myself yet. I'm Jin. And you must be...?"
âWhatâs that you got there?â Jin carefully sets his book aside upon catching sight of his cat trotting up to his bed with an envelope pinned between her teeth. Felix pads up to him and drops the letter with a soft mewl and Jin offers her a genuine smile, giving her a scratch at the back of her ear while he picks up the letter with his free hand. He doesnât normally receive any letters. His mother has been too busy with her career to even remember writing him one, so this is quite new to him. It might not even be his. Felix can pick up the strangest of things after all. With his interest triggered, he tears the envelope open only to be welcomed by a sight he never expected to be a witness of.
We do not forgive. We do not forget.
Yeah, this canât be his. And yet, the subtle signifiers of confusion and surprise are imperfectly repressed on the Slytherinâs face as his eyes trace over the words twice. The symbol isnât close to throwing him off balance, but his interest is undoubtedly piqued. Either this is their way of showing their defiance against the Ministryâs act of reclassifying magical creatures or not, Jin will have to keep a close eye on this one without having to get his hands dirty. He couldnât be bothered what happens to those beasts, just as long as they donât make things unnecessarily inconvenient for him.Â
ooc: i forgot to make a post about this but i just wanna say im currently on semi-hiatus for now. my dashboard is acting up. all i see are spaces and lines instead of text so i cant read anything. >.> tumblr is already doing something about it buuuut i dont know how long that will take. so yeah, just a heads up!

Kim Seokjin đ
alphabet boy - jin/namjoon
With the O.W.L.s getting closer, Namjoonâs putting twice more effort into helping Jeongguk as much as he can lately, whether it be making more study  guides, practicing spells with him, and staying up with the younger to review  the concepts with him.
Though today, he planned to practice spells, charms, and curses with Jeongguk later on once he finished the study guides heâs making for him early  enough. Maybe he also has some extra time to read some for tomorrows class.
Namjoon felt like heâs doing exceptionally well with his classes lately, and heâs been really proud of himself, especially with the praises heâs been getting from their professors. Namjoon doesnât like attention, but when he feels as if thereâs something wrong, heâd try to think it over and over, and then tell the teacher. He would then explain why he sees the fault with a certain thing, like what he did earlier on during their Potions class.
âWouldnât crushing the Sopophorous Bean would release its juice better than just cutting it?â, he asks, but when he receives no answer, he takes his bean and crushes it with the blade of his dagger before squeezing the juice out into the cauldron. âBesides, itâs easier than cutting it.â
When the professor asked how he figured it out he answered with a smile.
âMy father taught me a lot of things. He loves making potions, and this is one of the things he taught me growing up.â
He was busy checking books out for Jeonggukâs study guides, that he almost  didnât hear his name being called. He looks around and he sees one of the  Slytherin upperclassmen from his potions class. Kim Seokjin. He blinks at him  when he offered the seat across from him to him.
Namjoon was planning on heading back to the Hufflepuff basement right  after acquiring the books seeing as though the library was almost full, but  he doesnât want to be rude, so he just saunters over to Seokjinâs table after  grabbing the last book he needed with a soft smile.
âKim Seokjin, right? Thank you. I thought I would have to go back to  the basement after grabbing these cause the libraryâs packed today.â
âItâs no problem.â His signature gentle smile graces his lips as he watches his new seatmate settle on the chair across from him, pleased that his invitation had not been turned down. Although, that is to be expected because passing up on an invitation from Kim Seokjin isnât exactly the most ideal thing to do. Gears begin to shift behind his eyes as he studies the younger wizard in front of him, put off by how someone like him would have the audacity to upstage him.Â
But he supposes that he wouldn't mind a challenge, even if it's with someone as inferior as a Hufflepuff.
Apparently though, none of his Slytherin seatmates are exactly fond of the idea of having a Hufflepuff at their table but no one dared to say anything about it. They know better than to question Jin's motives after all; his motives are always believed to be for the good of everyone. One friendly Slytherin in particular had smiled and greeted Namjoon though so that's new.
He then shifts his eyes to the books Namjoon has laid out on the table. Achievements in Charming. A Compendium of Common Curses and Their Counter-Actions. Self-Defensive Spellwork. A few other more could be seen buried under the ones that are in view. The guy seems to be getting his hands full today compared to Jin's who's only been leafing through the Moste Potente Potions. How he got his hands on it, no one asked. Suddenly painfully aware that some of their seatmates are now looking at the two of them back and forth with inquisitive eyes, Jin clears his throat and maintains his calm demeanor.
"You sure have your hands full today." He opts for a light conversation, his meager casual smile still intact. "You plan on studying here all day?"
âď¸Â âđđ đžđšđđ'đ đđđˇâ âjin & peach
when heecheon was younger, he often wished to be a bird. ironically enough, a raven. frequently, the boy would find himself walking along the thicket of the dark forest, only to spy the black bird, picking away at come carcass another animal left behind. such a tiny bird, yet so many stories and myths circle around them, most of which would depict them as vile creatures.Â
as heecheon realised what his veela heritage brought, he started imagining what it would be like to be able to turn into a raven. often enough he would imagine what damage he could do. he already was a monster to so many and his mother wasnât around to guide him through it. his grandmother had always blamed him for her death; holding a conversation with the proud, old woman was quickly deemed impossible.Â
the boy was left alone with his struggles and problems and questions; stuck in a society that wouldnât hesitate to call him less than and reduce his worth to little more than a mindless and dirty beast. in the rare moments that he was angry, heâd have to agree that he certainly seemed the part.Â
and it was that same disdain he saw reflected in seokjinâs eyes. that very same feeling of worthlessness that felt like a slap to the face, as harsh as realisationâs hit. in the very same second the slytherin had spoken up, heecheon understood that the situation he had gotten himself in wouldnât be as easily resolved as he had originally assumed.Â
fear and anxiety settled in the pit of his stomach like heavy stones; the iciness in the taller maleâs gaze mirroring the shiver he felt running along his spine, followed by the momentary impulse for fight or flight. neither of those happaned and instead heecheon was glued to the spot, briefly rendered speechless in the lights of events and flabbergasted at the oh so respected seven yearâs reaction.Â
âno, iâm not.â he spoke without thinking. his tongue quick and words forever blunt and unfiltered as they leave plush lips. he may not be a human, but even he had his pride. âi know that youâre not a ravenclaw but even you have to realise that what youâre saying is clouded by prejudice.â that was the point at which he should have stopped, gotten onto his knees, forgotten that stupid pride he had and begged.Â
should have.
he didnât.
feline eyes took on a stubborn glint as heecheon straightened his posture, small shoulders squared and tense as he crossed his arms and lifted his chin in a gesture that could have easily be deemed as haughty. âi thought you were understanding and nice, i didnât realise youâre the kind of person that would ignorantly believe everything they hear.â it was simply meant to be exchanging blows, a hit for a hit and heecheon was aiming for the slytherinâs pride, hoping to inflect at least the tiniest of wounds. and it wasnât anger this time; it was frustration, annoyance and fear. his hopes for understanding had been shattered and instead of pausing to consider, the streak of short temperedness he had inherited from his mother burst through.Â
had he only been a bird.Â
It's an eye for an eye, that's what Jin has come to understand in the circumstances that have been laid out between them. He's got dirt on the Ravenclaw, and now the Ravenclaw has dirt on him. But even with the display of fierce defiance that flashes within Heecheon's dark eyes that are drilling into his, Jin has been left unaffected. A string of silence hangs between them as Jin's cold scrutiny on the shorter wizard goes on without a slight shift-- his lids smooth over a cool gaze.Â
He could very well deal with the danger of angering a Veela and having his true personality discovered by simply behaving as though it does not exist.
"That's pretty," A small smile quirks the corners of his lips, as if mildly pleased to discover a pet capable of a trick. "now the truth." He reaches over to touch the clean line of the wizardâs jaw like a mother would do to show affection to her child. But the only thing that completely contradicts this motion is the deviant knowing tinge in his smile like he's just figured out a cruel joke. "The Ministry of Magic will most certainly carry further suspicions once they receive another report of an attack from the very same beast, don't you think?" He draws his hand away, detached hazel eyes noting the fragile frame of Heecheon that is locked hard with tension. "No attack has happened here, but I can certainly make it seem like it has."
It will not be the first time he would inflict pain on himself to earn a convenient gain and he's definitely willing to do so again if it meant having the upper hand. As much as he admires the Ravenclaw's display of obstinacy, Jin knows that he shouldâve shown that to someone else. To someone who wouldn't take delight in watching his dignity trampled under the heel of his boot.
"So, I suppose I'd hold my tongue if I were you." His eyes pass over the other wizard as though viewing merchandise. "Please, feel free to think what you want of me but at the end of the day, who do you think will be the one conducted as a monster here? A student who is greatly favored by his professors? The one who most young witches and wizards confide to about their problems? Or you."Â
An actual monster.Â
Jin doesn't have to further expound on his point when his tone has pretty much set it out there on a silver platter. He has dealt with blackmail before and he always has the leverage of it. The only one time he had been the victim of such action, it didn't end well. For the other party. It earned him a permanent reminder of it but he uses it as a ladder of strength rather than a chip on his shoulder. Knowing what Veelas are capable of, Jin could surely use Heecheon to his advantage.
âď¸Â âđđ đžđšđđ'đ đđđˇâ âjin & peach
@slyseokjin
heecheonâs anger, on average, lasted for about eleven seconds; that was how long it took for realisation to hit him and for the boy to either calm down and turn anxious, or, in the rarest of cases, for it to backfire and him to grow even more furious.Â
today was not one of those days.Â
as soon as he had felt the burn and ache of talons growing, sharp and pointy claws lifted above his head with the intention to cause pain, he felt regret. that was what they had wanted all along and heecheon had almost played into it. and although it had only been a second and daniel hadnât seen, his back having been turned to the ravenclaw, another pair of eyes had seen everything.Â
within a moment the grimace was gone from his face, replaced by anxiousness and clearly visible tension - that is, until it really sunk in who it was that had seen him.Â
jin had a reputation. motherly, kind and warm; he was caring where other slytherins were cunning and he was adored for it, which was also what prompted the first words tumbling past rose petal lips to be âi can explain.â
he could and he tried, a deep frown set between delicate brows as he tried to tell other male what exactly had happened, voice hushed and shoulders hunched because while it had not come to an attack, it was close. heecheon wasnât conceited - or confident - enough to believe his looks to be able to get him places, but he did know that from the right angle and with just the right purse to his lips, he would achieve the puppy look that could at least awaken the smallest bit of compassion within people. he had also believed that would be easily accomplished with seokjin.Â
âplease, donât tell anyone. donât report it. i didnât hurt him and someone sent a fake report in not too long ago. i canât risk this happening again. they could kick me out of the school. please.â surely, jin would understand, he thought. definitely. someone as sweet as him just had to show sympathy.Â
People who could not keep a firm hold of their emotions are weak, or at least that's what his mother has taught him. They can never be trusted and must not be associated with in any way whatsoever. Someone gives them a simple threat, and they would easily switch their loyalty from you to whoever is more dominant. And so when Jin's attention has been caught and held by the mere sight of a young wizard at the very ends of endurance-- the sharp talons growing out as evidence of the student's sheer infuriation-- panic spiked the blond's pulse. It's an involuntary reaction, his blood beating against the inside of his skin as if trapped. It's the kind of reaction his mother would have frowned at. With that in mind, he opts not to present any outward signs of fright.
The tension growing within the other wizard's shoulders did not go unnoticed as he resumes his human form. When their eyes meet, Jin instantly recognizes him as Kim Heecheon-- a Ravenclaw classmate. It shouldn't come off as a surprise to him that Heecheon is a Veela. He's heard rumors of him attacking a student the other day and while Jin doesn't normally pay attention to rumors, this could be made as an exception granted that the word is as true as the phases of the moon.
But it's the look of relief that lights Heecheon's eyes that bothers the Slytherin. There's a sense of expectancy in the way the shorter blond carries himself as though Jin is no threat to him. The slight urgency on his pretty features is apparent but all in all, a glimmer of hope could be seen overthrowing it. As the explanation has been laid out without having it provoked, Jin listens. But the longer he listens, the more he comes to understand why he is no threat to the Ravenclaw.
Because he's Kim Seokjin, and he would never hurt anyone.
Now Jin is repressing everything into a single hard kernel of distaste. In a pause that followed Heecheon's words, a cold look glazes over the Slytherin's typically considerate expression. "So you really are a beast." He makes himself speak without undue emotion, just a mild remark on the facts. It isn't a tone he'd normally use but after weighing his options, he has the upper hand here. "And the disgustingly promiscuous type too."

alphabet boy - jin/namjoon
@nampuffle
Jin mops his face with his hands in immense frustration. Heâs been pushing the memory to one side, only to have it replaced by another. He has always been the object of the professorsâ rare approvals. He has suggested techniques that could make the lessons fairly easier to understand and is often praised by how he constantly thinks outside the box. But now, things are just plummeting down to a shithole of nuisance.
Every single day, itâs Namjoon here, Namjoon that and the blond could feel himself reaching the brink of his patience. That infuriating Hufflepuff has apparently also been proposing a few effective techniques that completely contradict his techniques and most students now appear to prefer the inferiorâs than his. And to make matters worse, that idiot turns out to be providing private tutoring sessions for Jungkook-- a Slytherin underclassman. He wouldâve been fine with it if heâs dealing with a Ravenclaw but this is a Hufflepuff-- and an underclassman to top it off-- and that fact alone is enough to have the blondâs peers taunting him and comparing him to that muttonhead.Â
Speaking of the devil, Jin catches sight of Namjoon looking around the library with a couple of books in his hands. Seeing as most of the seats are occupied saved for the one across from Jin, the blond decides to do the unthinkable and feign the kind of fondness most people appear to have for the younger wizard. Perhaps itâs about time he figures this guy out.
âNamjoon...!â He calls out, but still keeping the volume of his voice in check as he gestures to the empty seat in front of him with a well-practiced smile on his face. âYou can sit here if you want.âÂ
look at me - jin/jungkook
itâs no secret that jungkook gets lost quite a lot, and honestly he was trying to head on over to the library to see if namjoon was there or not (sometimes he catches namjoon there even when they arenât scheduled to be studying together), but⌠well, thatâs certainly not where he ended up. instead, he somehow landed himself in the courtyard with quite the confused look on his face.
he looks around with a sigh. at least this time he knows where he is, right? that means getting to his actual destination shouldnât be too hard and, just to make sure, heâs even trying to actually map out the school in his head to see if he remembers how to get to the library from where he is now. heâs got one or two turns down, and he remembers that there are a bunch of different hallways that all look almost identical so itâs honestly very hard for him to remember exactly where heâs supposed to go.
jungkook is drawn from his thoughts with the slightest jump (he wasnât paying attention, okay? cut him some slack) as he hears someone speaking to him, turning around almost immediately only to be met with a kind smile and a question that he absolutely knows the answer to.
âahâ yeah!â he nods, flashing the taller male a bright smile andâ wait. this boy looks awfully familiar, even sporting slytherin robes. he thinks to himself for a moment before that little light bulb goes off in his mind, causing his smile to widen if at all possible.Â
âyouâre jin, right??â heâs quite certain that heâs correct (he knows he is, honestly; jin is quite the popular slytherin and he has no clue why the boy has suddenly decided to talk to him), giving the other hardly any time to even attempt answering his question before he decides to open his mouth again. âitâs nice to meet you!â
he mightâve already forgotten about going to the library for the moment. whoops.
The words have the air of genuine enthusiasm to them, completely oblivious to how much Jin wants to wipe that smile off of the brat's face and teach him a lesson for even having the gall to pass up on him and choose someone who is obviously beneath them. Nevertheless, the blond doesn't show any outward signs of annoyance. It's no surprise that Jungkook has heard of him-- it would be if he didn't. Jin likes to deem himself a pretty memorable guy, even if he has to stoop down to being nice to those who are inferior to him. It's a small price to pay to get far.
"Nice to meet you too." He says in a voice thick with charm, his eyes already taking a quick study of the younger wizard's face.
Jin supposes that to those susceptible to pretty boys, this kid probably has the allure in abundance. Â In spite of his impressive height that could get a few turned heads from the opposite sex, Jungkook's face couldn't be mistaken for anything else but a boy. He's deep into puberty at this point but he still seems to exuberate the youth and naivety of a child. His grin scatters light into his dark eyes. There appears to be a subtle crinkle at the corners of his eyes where his smile reaches and Jin could have deemed that feature endearing if it isn't for the fact that the brat is the reason why people started doubting him.
"You know, a few of my-- friends... are a bit curious as to why you don't really come to me when you need help with your studies." Jin maintains his small smile, now confirming that Jungkook would be easy to take under his wing for the gullibility that he's just brimming with. He reaches over to give the younger male a careful clap on the shoulder. "You can always come to me if you need help with anything, yeah? I make it a goal to assist my underclassmen after all."
He could prioritize Jungkook over the younger wizards for now. He doubts they would mind. And if they do, he couldn't really find it in himself to give a damn.
shut him up - jin/himchan
Himchan has never considered himself to be lucky or unlucky, he just accepts things as they come and deal with them without expecting anything and by far, it has worked quite well for him. Well, as well as it can for someone âpassiveâ as he has heard once or twice about him. He just doesnât think that itâs that easy to go out of his way to become someone better, to improve his personality or even get rid of his insurmountable shyness; and itâs not after sixteen years of being like this that heâll be able to change anyway. So, Himchan just deals with things and does his best with subjects he knows he is good at⌠But also with subjects he is less good at, or even terrible, because he still wants to graduate and, okay, that might be one thing he is expecting from himself.Â
( He really tries to be more friendly, really. But it seems like looking down at the floor while walking isnât particularly helpful. Oh, well. )
Studying and getting good marks, this is something he can do well and something he wants to do well so itâs not a surprise when he walks down the hallway with five thick books clutched against his chest for him to read by the lake, at his favorite secret spot. He doesnât think thereâs a better place to learn and meditate â even though, most of the times, he ends up getting distracted by plants and little bugs and the stunning scenery. But still, itâs always much better than staying inside the castle. Too much noise. And people.Â
And mean people.Â
Before he can realize whatâs going on, Himchan stumbles over what seems to be a leg and crashes on the floor heavily, his books landing on the floor loudly as he has let go of them to try and soften his fall with his hands. It still hurts, but what hurts the most, maybe, is the mocking laughter. He isnât slow to get on his knees to pick up the books, the urge to disappear clawing at his insides and making him feel so, so embarrassed. People are really difficult to understand he just canâtâ A voice stops his inner panic and he looks up in surprise, his desire to run away growing stronger but instead, his hands still for a second. Itâs not the voice he recognizes, but thereâs something about that face⌠Something familiar⌠And painful. He remembers him. And just when he thought his day couldnât get worse.Â
âI donât need help.â Your help, in particular, he wants to retort but Himchan has never been good at expressing himself. But if thereâs one thing he knows at this moment is that he wants nothing to do with Kim Seokjin.Â
Shit.
There is no reason for Jin not to catch on the look of recognition that has dawned in on Himchan's face and his mind starts hastily reeling in for a save-- anything that could get the Hufflepuff to forget what had ever occurred between them years ago. Who would have even thought that he'd see him here of all places? Either fate has its own sickening way of twisting things, or Jin just really isn't having his best of days. After a fleeting moment in which the blond's heart knocks twice against the inside of his chest, he glances at the other male and lets out a breath of what might have been laughter except that he's not entirely sure what emotion has provoked it. You don't reject someone's help when they're already doing it, you nitwit, Jin had wanted to say but opts for the better response.
"Well, I don't think you're doing a very good job carrying all these books in your arms." He smiles. He had hoped that his blond hair would help him out in being indistinguishable but it seems like the shorter wizard has the memory of an elephant. He could might as well play dumb for now, perhaps show the idiot how much he has 'changed' over the course of several years. Some morons do believe that people can change for the better good after all and seeing as Himchan turns out to be in a house that Jin deems to be inferior to the rest, he figures this wouldn't be too hard. Though, seeing a few of his fellow Slytherin's intentionally tripping the younger wizard for a good laugh isn't exactly helping him.
Picking up the last book from the floor, he straightens up and keeps the ones he's holding in his grip. "So let me help you. Where are you heading off to anyway?" He couldn't afford to lose sight of the guy now that he's got him standing right here in front of him. Obviously, Himchan also had no idea they've been studying in the same school (his reaction is a dead giveaway) so Jin couldn't worry much about him spilling the beans on the days prior to this encounter.
Nevertheless, that doesn't change what the future could possibly hold for him. If he could somehow convince the Hufflepuff that he isn't what he used to be at all-- earn his trust and have him promise not to tell anyone about what happened between them-- then he could go on with his days without a furrow of his brows. But if worse comes to worst, he will just have to get his hands dirty. He doesnât associate himself with convenient people for nothing.
force of nature - jin/yoongi
@slytherinmin
It is completely out of his character to skip class. Itâs just not in his nature. But he needs his space. He hasnât exactly been having a favorable week after all and having to interact with a lot of people is starting to wear him down. None of his friends are aware of his intentions and he prefers to keep it that way. He had already faked his nausea at the Great Hall earlier so surely his companions will inform their professor of his supposed sickly state. They canât be that incompetent, can they?
The library is fortunately free of any presence. Or at least, thatâs what it looks like the minute the blond had stepped in but there really is no way of telling since the place can pretty much be a labyrinth. Perhaps he could crack a book or two to pass the time. Boredom sinks as he scours each shelf for a book that could catch his attention, but it seems like heâs just not in the reading mood.
Just when heâs on the verge of giving up and looking for another place to waste his time at, he catches sight of a figure on the floor between two shelves. Itâs a body; motionless. Intrigued steps carry the Slytherin closer but only to realize that itâs no other than his classmate, Min Yoongi, out like a light. An expression like a dangerous rainstorm passes over Jinâs face, a look he seldom shows in front of anyone. How unsightly. He rarely interacts with the guy but Jin has heard enough to know that Yoongi is the lethargic type whoâs got a mouth on him.Â
Assuming Yoongi is far too deep in slumber (since that seems to be the only thing heâs good at), Jin gives him a disgusted yet careful nudge on the leg with the tip of his shoe as though kicking a small piece of trash away from his path. âWhat the hell is this idiot doing sleeping here of all places?â He finds himself muttering, confident enough that nobodyâs within earshot. âCanât you leave your barbaric nature at home with the rest of your family of nitwits?âÂ
