How does one know if they may be a Slytherin? Did you look up the answers to get what want on the sorting quiz or for knowledge's sake? Slytherins are oh so clever at getting what they want.

Slytherin Snippet 10
How does one know if they may be a Slytherin? Did you look up the answers to get what want on the sorting quiz or for knowledge's sake? Slytherins are oh so clever at getting what they want.
Slytherin Snippets 9
Dark and sneaky like a snake, but cerebral and thoughtful like a raven. Slytherins are often seen as bad and untrustworthy people. Really Slytherins are some of the most trusting of people but they are selective with who they let enter their circle. If a Slytherin shares their secrets with you or gives you their trust, your bond will be strong. And you'll understand a group so often misunderstood.
Slytherin Snippets No. 8
Beware a Ravenclaw-Slytherin pair. We make great partners and greater commotions. What is brains without some cleverness to go with it?
Slytherin Snippets No. 7
We’re not bad, we’re drawn to it that way.
OWLs
During owls there are two types of students.
Hufflepuff
A Hufflepuff will be a surprise Outstanding because they take it slow and easy. Ravenclaws may be seen constantly around these quiet intellectuals. They are the more Introverted puffs.
The next is the Hufflepuff who gives their all but fails to hit the mark. They do not cry or panic but they do indeed try harder next time.
Gryffindor
A Gryffindor during OWLS will become a Hermione Granger overnight and dazzle their professors. But they may also boast about their scores. They make the Ravenclaws nervous.
The second type of Gryffindor wings it and succeeds. I did not say they received a great mark however.
Ravenclaw
Now to the Ravenclaws. Can you tell I’m biased as one? We are also of two types during OWLS. Some of us will study hard but to tea and music that is soothing. Expect the Ravenclaw Common Room to sound like a symphony hall. We generally have high marks.
The second type of Ravenclaw has a lot in common with a Slytherin. This Ravenclaw never worries nor studies but always knows the answers and passes. Seen as a know-it-all but in truth is a bit of a class clown. Gryffindors love this student.
Slytherin
Now to Slytherin who was saved for last as they are the best at ambition. The first type is like a Ravenclaw, only more frantic and likely to stay up all night hyped up on coffee. They actually may study in the kitchen with Hufflepuffs for tea and caffeine. They are the most ambitious of students often matching any Ravenclaw. Of course all but Hufflepuff assumes they have cheated.
Lastly, the second type of Slytherin during OWLS has a clever way to study. They open up and let the smartest into their inner circle. Each day with enchanted paper they take snippets from the Ravenclaw Common Room by way of paper cranes. Quite lovely really, these calm the students and deliver the correct notes to study in an elegant fashion. Most students do intercept these of course. The Ravenclaws sometimes write in the wrong answers. Slytherin responds by earning highest marks and the house cup… Again.
Slytherin Snippets No. 6
Never hide your problems around a Slytherin. We understand the masks people wear everyday and can look past them.
Can we appreciate this man?
So I am finally being honest. I was resorted and after I thought about it… Who else would think over the course of two years about their house and fitting in? Why the one who doesn’t fit in and who has the mind to think: Ravenclaws!
I admit I didn’t want to be the underdog or so unsure of myself. But the good news is this means more stuff to post about. I love all of the houses and to go with the house I always assumed I’d be in could be a fair game. I used a guide on the occamy because it is my favorite magical creature from the HP universe, plus I imagine it would protect me.
Slytherin Snippets No. 5
Slytherins are often described as selfish and greedy. People willing to do whatever it takes to get what we want is how many see Slytherin. We’re not all bad. Besides, who doesn’t like nice things? And who said knowing how to get what you want was a bad thing? “Or perhaps in Slytherin you’ll make your real friends. Those cunning folk use any means to achieve their ends.”
Pottermore Update:
Another change in my life and another Pottermore rambling! My patronus is updated to what is now a more symbolic animal of magical protection to me, and let's just say my old wand broke so I got it replaced! This time everything about my new wand is the same except now it's Silver Lime. I used to get these wands a lot but kept loaning them to friends whom had broken them...
I will do a new wand, patronus, and house analysis soon! Silver Lime is an interesting wand wood.
Wand Profile Analysis Vine 12 & 3/4" Dragon Core Quite Bendy Flexibility Profile: My own (slytherinsnippets)
Slytherins are quite complicated and out wands show that. Some of us have common wands and others more garish varieties. As an example of myself with a wand of vine at 12 and 3/4" of a dragon core that is exemplified.
Vine
Vitis from the grapevine, vines are associated with the God Bacchus of wine and drink. Vine is also an uncommon wand wood, usually swishy and light. Wood of vine has a mysterious quality of magic and personality. Owners of this wand according to Mr. Ollivander have an air about them when they enter the room. Maybe the person lights up the mood or has wrack spurts around their heads.
Dragon Core
The dragon core is one of power and grace able to cast the most flamboyant of spells. A Slytherin with that wand would be able to cast a garish patronus indeed.
Length: 12 & 3/4"
The length can point to confidence and one with a long list of ideals and beliefs. The in-between length can point to some growth being needed. Slytherin saw the seeds of greatness and seeds blossom to trees.
Quite Bendy Flexibility
While vine wood is naturally flexible, a flexible wand can denote adaptability.
Conclusion
While house says nothing of your wand, the wand can definitely shed light on why you are in your house. Slytherin's element is water, water can be cold, dark, mysterious, secretive, calm, or haphazard. It fits for a Slytherin to have a vine wand to represent the mystery and complexity in their person like water with hidden depths. The core denotes strength and power with the wherewithal to use it. The quite bendy flexibility can point to an adaptable Slytherin which is a trait of Slytherin as resourceful and ambitious. Lastly, the length being a mixed number points to potential growth as a person.

Slytherin Snippets 4
Slytherins are the house most likely to come from nobility or at least have expensive taste. When given a gift from a Slytherin you can rest assured it will be unique and of quality. Should you have made that Slytherin an enemy then open that gift at your own judgement.
Slytherin Snippets No. 3
Slytherins can be very cerebral, but also very blunt. So we are not ignoring you. We are thinking about something more interesting than you.
Thank you
Thank you so much for the love, support, and followings!
(This is bad quality but that is not the point)
HOLD UP *Antonyms of Slytherin* -Friendly -Open -Optimistic -Accepting -Warm -Mellow -Reserved -Laid-back -Kind
Excuse me? I’m about to disprove every single one of these so make a cup of tea and get ready.
1) Friendly
You can’t just dismiss ¼ of wizards and witched as ‘unfriendly’ simply because of a stereotype. Since when did being ambitious and being friendly become mutually exclusive? Yes, there are some Slytherins who are particular assholes, but what about other houses? You’re saying that in Gryffindor, a house that values bravery and all around cockiness people were always friendly? As well as that, the house that is known for valuing kindness is Hufflepuff. Are you saying that Hufflepuff and Slytherin are opposites? Yes, the people who make up those houses have very different personalities, but as always, there is some overlay, or Slytherpuffs would not exist. For example, Narcissa Black was almost sorted into Hufflepuff because of her fierce loyalty towards her family. Kindness is a basic human emotion, missing only in the mind of psychopaths, which is not the word I would use to describe Regulus, Slughorn, and the great Merlin himself.
2)Open
So practically ¾ of Hogwarts hates Slytherin and believes them to be heartless monsters, but it surprises you that they don’t seem open? Okay, Slytherins tend to hide their emotions from most people, but within a Slytherin’s small group of friends they will not hesitate to tell them everything, because unlike some other houses, a secret stays a secret. This is one of the words I could potentially agree with as I have found myself closing off from other people when I do not want to burden them, but my best friend knows everything about me as we keep no secrets from each other, something former members from the Gryffindor house (dumbledore) could not say, having kept a certain boy-who-lived’s inescapable early death from him for more than 7 years.
3) Optimistic
Yeah, okay I can see where the author of this is coming from with this one
4)Accepting
Okay we need to stop using common traits of Hufflepuff as antonyms for Slytherin! If there is one thing Slytherins are not accepting of then it’s bigoted behavior because “everyone else may think we’re evil but we will not sink to meet their expectations.”
5) Warm
Just because Slytherins will not pour their heart out to anyone who knows them doesn’t mean they are soulless. Slytherins may act distant from the other houses, but why would they have any reason to share their feelings with anyone who thinks that they are evil? We always know what to say to our closest friends, and have such big hearts for those willing to put in effort to try and find out.
6) Mellow
Okay so Slytherins may not be the most mellow, but like hell any non-slytherins would know, because if anything, we are good appearing calm and collected, but simmering with rage and hatred beneath the surface. Also, just because we fight fight for what we want instead of just waiting for the opportunity to fall into our lap doesn’t mean we’re hotheads.
7) Reserved
Slytherin’s may voice their opinion when they think something is wrong, because someone needs to speak out, however only if we think it will give any impact, or benefit. If someone acting really homophobic, of course we will tell them to sit the fuck down and rethink their priorities, but if you do so every day, it will lose its effect. We pick and choose our battles.
8) Laid-back
Laid-back is definitely something that comes with age. If you look at the first year Slytherins, then yes, you could say that they are not at all laid back, stressing until 2am about a homework due the next day. However as they get older, the fucks being given get less and less, until eventually they have perfected the art of needing a constant base layer of stress to function, and can therefore relax and not think about their fast-approaching essay due date until the night before, whereas a hufflepuff is running up and down the library halls with stress. You see, every house procrastinates, but it takes talent to be able to relax while putting off work.
9) Kind
This is the last one, and I believe the worst. Yes, may protect their emotions, but that doesn’t mean we are not kind. it is about time that people stop predicting our entire personality on Severus Snape, a guy most Slytherins didn’t even like, just pretended to because duh, extra credit. Please stop dismissing us as unkind, just because we have a slightly cruel (but admittedly hilarious) sense of humor, or occasionally enjoy intimidating people. Everyone knows this can be fun, we’re just the only house to admit it. These small things aside, just because we are not kind to you, does not mean we are without kindness, it just means we didn’t think you were worth being kind too, especially if you come up with this sort of bullshit list and all of your prejudices.
That was all my fellow slytherins x
Slytherin Snippets No. 2
Slytherins are often seen as guarded and sarcastic. True, being a witty, close-knit bunch, and being prone to cunning and sly silver tongues has that affect. But never try and trick a Slytherin. Slytherins can see right through the red tape and pretty little masks. A charlatan knows a charlatan. And a Slytherin knows when you are lying to circumnavigate their own keen eyes.
A Slytherin horcrux locket I got from wish.com isn't it neat? The art is by me.
