Derekdidnât even want any type of social media to track him to at all, butthey had been insistent that he get a Twitter or an Instagram. Whenall had been said and done, he had ended up getting both and spentthe next two weeks in a horrible mood. When he thought about it, itstill peeved him. At her soft quip, his lips quirked upwards. He knewsome of the men she was talking about â hell, a few were guys thatDerek really got along with and carpooled with often. But that didn'tmean he wasnât silently judging them for putting up every aspect oftheir lives (in and out of the ring) online.
Hiseyes lit up a little at her statement, although he tried to hide it,looking down at the ground until it passed, snagging his glance awayfrom hers just as she looked up at him. âYouâve got the right guy, then,â he coughed. Derek was probably the biggest cake fan he knewâ even outside of the WWE Universe.
Hegrabbed his own plate, thinking over his options. He wasnât all thathungry for anything he saw, but he knew he had to eat something. Hishopes of cake were smashed when he saw lemon bars. He rolled his eyesbehind the blonde. âY'know, your story. How long youâve been in theBiz, howâd you get here, did you sleep with so and so to get to themain roster.â He was mostly teasing, but he never passed up anopportunity to ruffle someoneâs feathers. Even a newbie.
Lily knew being on social media was nearly a requirement when being in the wrestling business. Even if it was to talk about matches, storylines, past things, the company was all for the fans connecting with the shows. It was how they got their money. Keep the fans interested, they come to shows, superstars get paid. She did miss it when the world wasn't so ruled by technology and having to detail each little moment in a life. She had photos stashed from her life, but she didn't want to share private memories with thousands of people.Â
Smiling softly, she noticed how he had looked away quickly before she glanced up to him. Maybe this would be a breaking the ice point? Get him to talk about something he loved? ``What kind of cake is your favorite?`` she asked, looking around and noting the different superstars and backstage hands working and talking. She did like the environment backstage when it wasn't chaotic. Just people getting to know each other and share stories.Â
Her lips turned to an O as he explained, using the utensils to pick up shredded chicken and some barbeque sauce. ``Well, I started out doing some commercials and hosting an low scale wrestling talk show, and eventually decided to try out for the WWE. They had me on NXT for a while and now I made my way up here to do backstage interviews and Talking Smack. You know, the glamorous life of a Canadian,`` she said with a small laugh and a shrug. ``I don't sleep my way to the top. If that's the only way I can make it somewhere, then that job just isn't for me,`` she explained, leaning down and picking up a water from the cooler. ``What about you? What made you want to become the Lunatic Dean Ambrose?``
