I think the biggest problem with adults and teenagers communicating is the idea of 'knowing everything'. Adults will always tell teenagers that they don't, that they remember being a teenager, and that they know more. The truth is, they don't.

If I've learned one thing growing up, it's that being a teenager isn't difficult because you don't know enough. It's because you don't know what to do with it all. Teenagers in modern society are held back from things that they should be learning, and forced into things that they shouldn't have to deal with yet.

Teenagers do know a lot. Not everything, because no one does, but a lot. It's something that adults forget, I think. Too wrapped up in jobs and responsibilities to remember what it was like to feel.
