Glad in Gladiator
beneath-your-wings:
Ὡ ❝Yes, yes. I am The Goddess: Palutena and I’m standing before you in the flesh! My, you are one educated young boy. It seems you’ve become somewhat of a patron to my temple.❞
The beauteous ruler of light had to study the teenager before her. For someone who was destined to become a hero and then be free to choose to live in Skyworld or remain on Earth, he certainly seemed…..spastic and unfocused. ‘He is still young,’ she thought, the warm smile remained on her face as he’d spouted off almost incoherent words, not even seeming to take a breath in between.
Ὡ ❝Uh, may I cut in? Yes, I can only appear to mortals and those alike, with a destined purpose that needs to be helped along. Heroes are said to be the only mortals worthy of truly interacting with divinity. And with all of that being said, I suppose that since we’re going to be seeing more of one another, I should let you in on the most important rule of conversing with the Goddess of Light!❞
Izuku reminded her so much of Pit that toying with him was basically second nature to her at this point. Though she hadn’t answered any of his questions with anything straightforward, this retort was positively blunt and would likely make him squirm a bit. It was in her nature to be a bit on the playful side with her underlings. But who doesn’t enjoy a good bit of levity?
Ὡ ❝We don’t mention Icarus…❞
Izuku listened intently to each and every word that slipped from the Goddess’ lips. Be they important or not, they were imporant to him. Every bit of it. Nodding along with each thing she said, the spazzy boy tensed up hearing that there was a rule. Leaning closer with a curious hum.
And upon hearing it, he let out a defeated sound very much akin to a squeak.
“I already broke the golden rule! I’m so sorry, Lady Palutena! I’ll make up for it!! I’ll bring doubl--no tripple the grapes tomorrow!” Reaching up, the nervous boy ran his hands through his hair in a fit of disbelief. “Please forgive me! I’ll do better.”
