The Blue Door . A couple years ago I was walking through streets of Mdina in Malta. I spotted this lovely blue door and was immediately drawn to it. I've included some very zoomed in photos of this door, as I cropped myself out of the frame. Funny enough a friend of mine went to Malta the year after and took a picture of the same blue door, not knowing I had already done so. Pure coincidence 😊 I did not use his photo as a reference for this drawing, as I only realized after the fact that it was still saved in our chat 😅😅🤷🏻. Swipe to the end to see his. Peonies . This started off as a quick doodle of a single peony flower. I then decided to paint it and add a couple more flowers in different stages of bloom. Take a walk through this magical little land, full of enchanting giant mushrooms and tiny little homes. . Here is the coloured version! I added a few more details to create a bit more texture and depth. . Mushrooms are quickly becoming a new favourite of mine. Landscape Ideas . I originally bought this toned paper for my Copic markers. Decided to try it out with my watercolours and really like the result. The coloured version! I tried play with light and shadow as well. (not very good at that yet) . I find painting or colouring digitally to be quite challenging. There are so many tools and brushes and options! Hah I need to eventually learn what my favourite brushes and techniques are, so hopefully the process will become quicker in the future. . A Mystical Land . This piece started out as two quick sketches to test out my new Copic markers. I purchased some new colours on Sunday and absolutely love them. They are very transparent which are easy to combine and layer. I need quite a bit more practice with them, but they work together quite beautifully. Floating Islands . This is my second drawing completed using Copic markers. I incorporated elements from some of my previous illustrations to create this piece. Hope you enjoy this magical land. Funny story about my first Procreate drawing . I got the idea for this drawing from a tile on my bathroom wall. In my mind, the image on the tile looked like this girl's face with wild crazy hair! I wasn't quite sure how best to turn what I saw into a drawing. As I recently purchased an iPad naturally I had to try Procreate and thought that it would be the perfect tool to bring my idea to life! It is an amazing program and there is so much learn and discover. Though simple, this is the first piece that I created with Procreate. More magical floating islands and of course, mushrooms! . I started this as a challenge to create a scene solely with watercolour. I soon realized that I am able to find much more freedown within the construct of these lines, than without them at all.
