Carter burst out laughing at the otherās expression, beaming at him and looking proud of himself. Probably too proud for what heād been talking about but the expression had definitely lightened his mood a little.Ā
He just nodded in response, bracing himself for the oncoming attack. However even with the brace it had been enough to knock him back a little. Christ. He hadnāt expected him to put THAT much force into it-- He was sure that if he hadnāt been bracing himself he would have been knocked off his feet.
But now he was determined.
He looked him dead in the eye, clearly with a new found will to learn how to punch people like that. And now he wouldnāt feel so bad if he punched him.Ā
āHow do you put your weight into the punch so much?ā
What tarot card are you
You got: The Magician
You are a creative force. Not only do you flow with new and powerful ideas, you can actually buckle down and do the hard work to turn those ideas into reality. Because of your inventiveness, youāre a natural-born strategist and leader. Not to mention, you make it all look easy.

Ā Ā Ā šilly rocked back on his heels, head tilting as cold eyes graced the device held in the otherās palm. He spared a quick glance towards the man, lips pressed into a thin line as he regarded him.
āIt is a phone,ā he murmurs, āmaybe youāve never seen it before but itās what they call a ācellularā. You can talk to people with it, pretty much anywhere.ā
The killer leaned forwards, gloved hands folding in his jean pockets. He shrugged, a small grin on his face. āYeah, trivia. Itās a little game. I ask a few questions, you get them right or wrong, but in the end I guess it doesnāt really matter; someone always ends up dead. Whether it be you, or someone close to you.ā A quick exhale, sounding suspicious of a laugh.
āWeāve had, uh. A lot of fun when it comes to the phone.ā Dark eyes zeroed in on the object in question. āSo many memories. Each time is always a different experience, itās better when theyāre feisty.ā Billy paused, turning his frame towards the older man. āI bet youāre just dying to try it out for yourself, huh?ā
He watched the killer before him closely, although seemingly more concerned that he would lie to him about the device rather than kill him. Death at the hands of the killers was an inevitability but trusting him was something he had control over. But... Even if he WAS pulling his leg the concept was interesting to say the least.
āSo... If Iām, say, waiting at a bus stop, I could call someone from there without having to find a payphone...?ā He asked curiously, starting to examine the device in his hand and starting to randomly push buttons. Even if they could call people from anywhere he doubted that they could call anyone out of the realm, sadly. For a very brief moment he had considered trying it, but after he looked a little sad, not looking up until the other man mentioned someone dying.
āGeneral knowledge trivia or any specific topic?ā He asked, raising an eyebrow at him saying that heād had fun with it. He assumed that he was talking about murder rather than a more.... Normal past time.Ā āWhen are you from?ā
āI am,ā He let out a light chuckle at the pun despite himself, knowing that they probably meant he was going to die but. It would have happened sooner or later anyway.Ā āEven though it seems like a bad call.ā
wraithfulintent:
The unfamiliar one leapt to his feet, and the Wraithās lanky body swiftly grew stiff and curved, waiting⦠and then he spoke, and Philip was not used to hearing their voices beyond shrieks of pure, animal terror or pain, so he snarled, this coarse, violent sound that lasted only a moment before it died upon the air, replaced instead (once the realisation came to him that the misplaced survivor seemed to be seeking some sort of an amicable discussion) with a bumble of mild interest. He was not running. The Wraith relaxed, and stalked several steps closer.
Why wasnāt he running?
Long fingers clumsily mimed and pointed, illustrating words in the air.
āĀ You shouldnāt be here. ā
His face betrayed none of the expression that his lack of vocal tone denied; having no voice with which to speak, the bloodhound was a creature dangerously difficult to read. So much of his humanity had been lost over the endless eternity he spent trapped under the Entityās control, replaced instead with predatory instinct, the bared teeth, sharp claws, tense muscle disposition of a wild animal in chains. But for now, though in his hands he held those awful bones, he appeared to be docile.
āĀ Not safe. ā
Not safe one bit; not with the others lingering somewhere in the shadows, three steps away from emerging into a clearing, into the territory of another killer who ā though they had all become relatively tolerant of the Wraithās quiet presence ā would not like to find one of these wandering. Not at all.
Carter tensed as he snarled, still ready to run and mildly regretting not having already bolted off. He looked like he still might as the Wraith moved closer to him. He might have been overconfident but he wasnāt stupid. Although... He hadnāt expected him to try and communicate with him.Ā
Squinting a little as he watched him mime, tilting his head a little in confusion only to squint at him cautiously after a moment. He... Seemed to be calm but he couldnāt really tell for sure given how hard the other was to read.
āIs that a threat from you or just a general warning?ā He asked, laughing a little nervously.Ā āBesides whatās the worst that could happen-- Getting killed? I donāt care too much about that anymore.ā He knew there were much worse things that some of the inhabitants of this realm could do to him, but he was confident that he could run faster than they could.... Mostly confident.

SevereĀ annoyance, maybe downright pissed had been Michaelās state. Sitting, fuming in his room that now held much tighter security. It had all been planned out, years of patiently waiting and plotting gone right down the fucking drain.Ā
One look at him and you might think he had something up his sleeve, or was simply being patient once again. Which was half true, he would be patient in waiting for another chance, to find another flaw in the system and exploit it to his selfish gain. But what the expressionless look upon his face did well was hide just how angry he was about the whole situation.
His previous psychiatrist was gone now, no doubt due to higher ups fumbling about in a disorganised manner. No profession was ever truly organised or ethical and the ones who ran this place and everything connected to it were no exception. Surely heād be seeing his new psychiatrist any moment now, long as they didnāt change the schedule around in lieu of his failed escape plan.
This was already a bad start. Heād been assigned his first patients but the schedule itself had been messed up and he had to rush to the next session he was supposed to be at, thinking he was more than a little late. Once he got to the door itself he took a moment to make sure he didnāt look too out of breath. He didnāt want to make too bad of a first impression past being late and looking like heād been running would also give a bad impression..... So would not seeming to care that heād kept him waiting.
He pushed those thoughts aside for now, taking one final deep breath before opening the door and looking at him apologetically. Carter definitely looked younger than most of the other doctors here and if it werenāt for his gard he could easily have been mistaken for a new nurse.
āMr. Myers, good evening. I hope I havenāt kept you waiting too long!ā He smiled a little at him, sitting opposite him carefully. He wasnāt entirely sure if he expected some kind of answer or not from him given his history of not being too co-operative with his previous psychiatrist.Ā āIām Dr. Carter and Iāll be your psychiatrist for the foreseeable future. How are you feeling?ā

ā You have to be fast and strong! Fast so the baddies donāt see it cominā and strong because the Entity makes their jaws hard as rocks, I tell you. ā Khari absently rubbed over the knuckles of his left hand. At this point they were constantly bruised from the many times heād given the larger killers violent uppercuts that not only took them by surprise, but Khari as well by making him almost sob in pain afterwards.
His expression turned somewhat blank when Carter suddenly began calculating things. The socialiteās eyes narrowed into a squint as he tried to mentally follow his equations. ā I, uh⦠yeah, sure, whatever. ā If Herman needed math to feel more secure and understand what Khari meant, so be it. Maths had neither been Khariās favourite subject nor something he was very good at. Well, he was decent, but not the best after all. Simmons was suddenly pulled out of his thoughts about highschool math when Carter looked at him dead in the eye and told him to punch him. He laughed nervously, brows furrowing as he rubbed over the back of his neck. ā Are you sure? I donāt wanna hurt you. ā
Carter looked a little awkward once heād realized how lost Khari seemed once heād snapped out of his thoughts, clearing his throat slightly. At least no one really seemed to care when he had started rambling like that which... Was both a blessing and a curse. He didnāt get bullied for it like he had before coming here but it also meant they seemed to get bored by him.Ā
āVery sure!ā He nodded after a moment before grinning a little,Ā āIām not going toĀ āShia Leboufā you! Just make sure you donāt hit me in the face-- I need that to woo killers and hope that means they wont kill me!āĀ
That hadnāt worked at all so far, but he could hope it would work eventually... Though really that didnāt sound like a good idea at all.Ā
stabbyboymyers:
The fact that the survivor kept eye contact definitely annoyed the man. It was a completely normal reaction to this but it still annoyed him. The confusion did bring him some satisfaction though. He liked that, when they didnāt know what was going on. However, the tinge of annoyance came back with the mirrored head tilt.Ā
He watched the man on the ground, stepping over. He paused momentarily when he spoke, seeing that stupid grin on Hermanās face. He scowled under his mask and, instead of speaking, opted to move a booted foot onto Hermanās fore arm and started to put his weight on it. He watched the survivor as he did, blue eyes watching him rather intensely.
He wanted to take his time. He had as much time as he wanted now, this wasnāt a trial. The survivor had already had bad enough luck to be nearby when Michael was in this mood and Michael wondered how far the bad luck went. He hoped it continued, heād love to see him suffer.
Carter winced a little at the foot on his forearm having assumed he was just going to use it to pin him-- only the pressure didnāt stop. Fuck. This was bad, but he didnāt want to react too badly and encourage him but fuck it hurt. Michael wasnāt exactly short and had more than a little meat on his bones and now that weight was on his arm.
āMichael, thatās pretty rude...!ā As much as he tried to hide it his voice was obviously shaky from the pain. He rolled a little, trying to pry his foot up from the ground like it didnāt have a six foot eight mans weight on it. Shit he needed to do something else. He looked up to his knee, frowning a little and reeling back to try and hit him as hard as he could in the knee despite not being able to put much force it it from the position he was in.
The shouting had been what woke him up initially-- at least temporarily. it sounded like a person yelling but... He hadnāt seen anyone in so long he was sure that it was just his mind playing tricks on him once again. It had grown very fond of teasing him with voices and shadows of people that werenāt actually there. It was exhausting.Ā
He put his head back down, trying to get back to sleep while he still could. Heād barely managed to get comfortable before he heard something rustling in the next room. Christ they never stopped, he had no idea how it got in but he wanted to dispatch of this infested before it could alert any others. Not that heād be able to sleep knowing that they could STILL GET IN.
Carter grabbed his knife, silently stalking over to the next room. He was ready to dispatch the intruder, only to stop and stare at how.... Healthy he seemed. How? Was this some sort of new unique infested that tried to trick people into helping it before it would turn on them?
āWhat the hell??ā Burst out of his mouth before he could stop it, too tired to really process the fact that he was talking before it actually happened and still keeping the knife held tightly in his hand,Ā āWhat the hell is this?!ā
Aloft the overgrowth was green and tall, mottled with shades of a deeper, darker, living sort of blackness. His attuned ears could find amongst the distant howl a sound of swishing leaves and creaking branches, but as the Wraith paused with one foot delicately in front of the other to incline his head towards the empty sky, he tasted upon the atmosphere no sense of a breeze. The Entity was awfully good at reproducing the organic world but, being so dreadfully inhuman, it failed to understand the essence of existence.
There was always something missing ā except for those times where the forest held within itself something too much.
The air glimmered with his passing and he might have overlooked the intruder, had the air not carried with it the undeniable scent of life, provoking his head to turn over shoulder and that was when he saw him, sitting on a log without a care in this nightmarish world. His heart, for a moment, froze. Though in the never-ending walls of deep pine he had come to expect the possibility of finding another of his fellows as they wandered aimlessly through the thickets, he was all too aware of their persuasions; whilst he himself was arguably capable of a momentary sort of docility, he could not imagine that the likes of Myers would respond quite so amicably to finding a survivor in their territory.
They were not supposed to be here.
He was not supposed to be here.Ā
Philip stared in great horror at the figure before him, those cold glowing eyes like beacons through the perpetual dark, and though there was no real sense of time here, a considerable amount of it passed before the song of the Wailing Bell cried through the fog, his cloak falling away in a swathe of orange embers.
Carter might have been over confident, but he still knew better than to wander into the woods without being cautious and ready to run. He jumped up when he heard the unfamiliar bell ringing out, ready to run.
Only his curiosity had gotten the better of him.
He still stood ready to bolt as soon as the other made any kind of aggressive move towards him, sure he'd be able to lose him in the trees. He'd give him a chance, however, even though with the skull bell in his hand he was sure he was a killer. Hopefully he would just kill him quickly if he was going to.
"Hi, I didn't see you there!" He joked a little, suddenly realising that the creature before him was probably what had made the noise before. It was. Little unnerving to realise how long he'd been there and he couldn't help but wonder if he was formulating a plan while he watched him.
"You should have said hello sooner!"
