Are you officially returning?

(I’m a little hesitant about making it official as I have kind of a horrible track record with these kinds of things... :^/ more of tentative maybe at the moment. It’s a bit more relevant as I’m on vacation right now and not working all the time, but that’s only for another couple of weeks. I just. Really love Gaige.)

-Curse cooldown periods, Gaige thought to herself, frantically firing off shot after shot, far too many of them straying past their intended target. Reloading was an option, but without her anarchy stacks to make her bullets really bite, these bullymongs would tear the both of them a new asshole before she could land an accurate shot.

Deathtrap was still on hold, digistruct data reforming and recalculating beneath the metal plating of her arm as she swung it back to get momentum on the swing of her grenade. Not that it was any good against the feral beasts, all of them charging right on through the explosion, seemingly unscathed and if anything more hellbent to get at their rapidly retreating prey. Gaige chanced a glance at the siren who seemed to be readying one of her telltale orbs of pure elemental energy. The mechromancer routinely forgot to pay attention in fights because that trick just looked so goddamned cool.-

Maya, get the big sucker, that one over th-

-One foot short meant half a word shorter, and Gaige felt her whole world shatter the second she broke the surface of the frozen pond, an eerie thrumming silence replacing roars and gunshots. She emerged, gasping, coughing, metal arm heavy and short-circuiting fast, shotgun pressed into the ice for leverage. Teeth chattering, she called out to the older woman, her voice a mere fragment of its normal volume.-

Gaige was having trouble the siren could see it from the corner of her eye, keeping one on her teammate unless she needed Respite to raise the mehcromancer to her feet once again. Her shots weren’t accurate and she attempted to hide the fact that she needed assistance. Silver eyes looked up to notice an ice mass headed her way. “Dammit.” Maya rolls to the side, cold snow touching her aglow hip as she escaped the ice block from mere inches. That was a close one. She quickly gained her balance, using her legs to hold her up as she crouched shooting at the tiny eyes of the Bullymongs.

She huffed, her tattoos lighting up the snow as she shook her head, raising her hand. “Stop.” Her tone venomous, enrapturing on in her orb of another dimension. It struggled like most of her victims do when they are caught in the locked phase bubble. With agility like the assassin, she ran up and flipped onto the flying creature, pulling out her pistol she placed it upon it’s head pulling the trigger. She fell with a roll to end it then arising again. Shaking the snow from the her blue locks, she looks around, Gaige must be hiding behind cover or that the younger Vault Hunter ran away, Maya didn’t think it was the latter.

She could feel the impact of a grenade going off as the snow mounds slammed against glaciers and rocks alike. Some of the shrapnel stuck inside the ice masses themselves. Lifting her head up she looked around, the little female seemed alright if not a few cold fingers and a bad aim. The siren heard her cry and looked around seeing the bullymong tower over the mechanic. “Gaige.” Maya’s cry was short as the siren watched in horror as the tiny anarchy rich female fell into the icy water. A low growl escaped Maya as she ran on ahead and began to kill the bullymongs, one by one they feel to the wrath of the siren, her power used way too many times the blue haired woman would like to admit. Her left arm burn something serious, a hiss escaping her blue lips as she phased the last bullymong. Shooting it in the legs and then the face it emitted one last roar from the filthy jaws that it ate at.

Once done with the furry beasts she slide over to the ice hole, her own teeth chattering softly. “Gaige, are you okay?” Clearly she wasn’t but Maya needed to ensure that there was no other injuries like a broken bone or fractured leg. Sufficed to say that Maya had hoped that Gaige was fine. Holing out an arm, the siren reached to the lowest part she could go without falling over and getting into the small pond herself.

Just. P-peachy. -Gaige grit past her rapidly chattering teeth, feeling anything but peachy at said moment. The metal arm she’d managed to haul out of the icy water was of little use, sparks flying from exposed pockets of drenched wiring, the middle joint clearly on the brink of freezing in place. Not a promising picture for getting out of the water in any case.-

Think y-you c-c-could use that s-siren magic of yours and g-get me outta here? P-pretty please?

Okay, Gaige's cupcakes. Axton scoffs them down and with his teeth pink from the icing and mouth full he just says "Dese are awfsome!". Salvador downs them without even chewing. Just tosses them up into the air and lets it fall into his mouth. Maya nibbles them and takes it slow. She gives feedback on the texture and taste and tells her that overall they're delightful. Zer0 inspects one and places in on a table. Doesn't eat it. Krieg...uh...he kind of just screams and mashes it into his mask.

Despite knowing that her grin betrays her, Gaige plays it cool, dusting off her hands on her apron and folding them over her icing-spattered chest. “Yeppp. Dad’s recipe. Two parts flour and sugar, lotsa sprinkles and a touch of instant cocoa powder.” She tries not to stare at Krieg’s icing-slathered mask as she talks, but oh man, she could not have predicted that outcome. Or maybe she should have. Probably. Zer0′s choice of pink and sprinkles sits untouched on the table still. Goddamn masks ruining everything.

I feel Gaige would be awesome at baking stuff, but people don't seem to notice she adds cybernetic components to her baking lol

(Baking is a SCIENCE after all! So yes, she’d probably be pretty ace at cupcakes. And so what if she tinkers a bit with the recipe and accidentally gives everyone lead poisoning, shit happens, right?)

Oh, ha ha. Cool it on the sarcasm buddy. I meant your stump, duh. I need to measure around it to see if the base will fit. Lemme just… -Crouching down next to the mattress, she reached out to take what little was left of his arm, stretching it out next to his body and wrapping a length of tape measure around the bandaged part. Maybe not as carefully as she could have done it, but he’d probably had worse in terms of pain.-

This whole situation was still creepy to Vasquez, but if he still got his arm back out of it then maybe it wouldn’t be so bad. Hopefully..

He winced as she grabbed the stub of his arm. Yup. This was weird. He really wasn’t enjoying this. “Is..is it gonna work or not?”

Dunno. Probably. I mean, I am a genius after all, but I don’t usually do these kind of adjustments on the fly a lot these days. Just try not to bleed on anything while I work, cool? Cool.

-Tucking away the tape, Gaige shuffled back to the work bench to compare measurements. Too small. Figures. Nothing that a bit more sheet metal and some added wiring couldn’t fix. Sliding her goggles into place, she got to work.-

I wish there’d been more girls like her and less girls like Marcie back in school.”

(Mun APPROVES of girls geeking out and bonding over the echonet. Mun also cries about Angel basically being adopted by Gaige’s dad because the girl deserves some real love for once.)
