I have 850 hours on BG3.
I only ever romanced Astarion and Gale.
the only way I could romance Gale was by playing Astarion.
how do I break the curse he has me in a chokehold.
I'd rather be in outer space 🛸

I love seeing how different people interpret the different endings to the game.
Personally I chose Verso's ending because I do believe that the Dessendre family deserves closure and to move on, and seeing Verso beg for Maelle to kill him in her ending and how miserable he was while playing the piano, along side just Maelle deteriorating and all of the Dutch angles and aspect ratio changes gave me an eerie feeling.
But on the other hand, I can understand choosing Maelle's ending as well; for the entire game we get to experience this incredible world and it's colorful characters, and then we're tasked with destroying it completely. Sure, it saves one family, but it also destroys so many others.
I love that the devs didn't give us an objectively "good" endings, both endings have their pros and cons and at the end of the day both of the endings are different ways to handle grief; it's not a comfortable process and you're always left with a piece missing (whether it's Verso's soul fragment that keeps on suffering or whether it's his canvas being gone for good).
"Verso is my comfort character," I say while sobbing every time I learn something new about him
"want a hug?" "yeah I do"

he might've been lying to us but he was serving face the entire time so it's okay.
