I originally didn't want to say anything, but now I kind of think I have to.

It's really great that Virgil is back, I myself, would rather see him in his own solo comic but I guess we can't have everything. Another thing is that as much as I like Static Shock I remain rather skeptical about him joining the Titans. Was it Tate's intention to include Virgil in his story or was he added last minute so the comic would sell better?

Honestly I'm slowly loosing faith in this run. Out of nowhere there's suddenly new team of randomly picked heroes that call themselves New Titans. So far we don't know anything about them except for the remaining OG Titans. We don't know how they got together, we don't know how Kory, Dick and Tara ended up in Grid's (I just refuse to call him RoboCyborg) dreamworld coffee-fuelled simulation (don't get me started on that DickKory rubbish - I ship them too but I think this was really wrong way how to approach it), since the last time we saw them Tara and Dick were with Raven on Gemworld and Kory was in Space with her sister and flying Titans Towers (ugh...who made that up?). All we got so far was writer mocking the overusage of certain tropes and then pulling up overused trope in the next issue, then let's add mischaracterisation and weird dialogue (calling OG Titans "Boomers" is just so bizarre) to the list. At this point I know I'm sounding like a broken record but it needed to be said.

I personaly didn't like the way the writer is making Dick and Kory look more or less useless. Am I supposed to believe that two the best fighters in the team were the only ones getting hit by Grid's "Nebulizers" (what?) and the newbies are somehow okay? Yea right. Then there was that moment where Steph told Nightwing and Starfire to stand back as support...yea, girl sure and while you're at it let's also leave the Superteen (sorry but I won't call Jon Superman when Clark is still alive and kicking - it's like if Dick and Batman wore the Batman's cape at the same time) on the bench with the rest of the team's powerhouses. Also why is 'Titans, together' "cringe" but 'Titans, go' somehow isn't, Steph? I kind of sense that Tate here wanted to show how the OGs are pathetic and useless and his new team is just so much better and greater at everything and so on... so why are Dick and Victor still there in the upcoming issues? Is it because DC is afraid that bunch of random heroes won't sell so they have to keep the fan-favourites (including Virgil) around for their sakes?

Like @tuxedosaurus said Titans are a family first and a team second. I think this new team should not be a titans team, more like something new with original name. To me it feels like when you take Justice League, remove Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Green Lantern, The Flash, Martian Manhunter, keep only Batman (cuz sales) and add one random hero each from already existing teams (resurrect the dead ones if needed) and sell it as Justice League comic. You just don't change family members because you are bored of them. Sure, sure Titans are constantly changing characters - yeah because DC doesn't understand them.

So this is my little big 3 AM rant (posted at 1 PM cuz why not). I'm still willing to give this run a chance to see how the plot eventually unfolds but I'm not sure if I should....

She had no problems saying Titans Go from the moment they showed up, buy Titans Together? Naaah too cringe man. Also a few panels later she'll say Titans Go again with no issues at all.

Also what these few issues taught us is that to show us how capable the New Titans are we need to knock out Dick and Kory I guess?

Like they were already fighting and Stephanie was in charge as the leader from the start. Even without knocking out Dick I think that, in the moment, they wouldn't have necessarily switched leader? Even after he and Kory woke up she was leading anyways.

I really liked the first issue.

It wasn't anything much, but it was funny at least. And I had big hopes for Dick and Steph's interactions... Now I'm kinda bummed out;;
