so.. funny story. i messed up and accidentally skipped prompt 4 because i mixed them up. OOPS!! ill do that sometime today or tomorrow. my bad. terribly sorry. well, at least this piece is technically on schedule since its super early in the morning haha

anyway, i figured itd be kind of ironic if i made the love/hate prompt about a character who can do neither! also, its pretty fucked up melchior named magillanica after a flower when like.. you know. yeah. i kind of made myself sad. magilous whole character fucks me up so much

(I was very set on drawing Rokunor ever since first seeing the prompt. The fact that I ended up drawing Rokurou 2 days in a row is purely coincidental. My bad.)

okay but it’s retroactively perfectly sensible that Ron would know random facts pertaining to Dragons and Exactly Why Charlie Can’t Have One he probably overheard that lecture a hundred times in the Burrow.

A distinction for anyone who is young and hasn’t figured this out yet:

You are allowed to have whatever emotions you want. No one can control your emotions. Emotions are healthy responses to things.

You are not allowed to have behaviors that are harmful just because you have certain emotions. Your behaviors are what you can control, and they are far easier to control than your emotions.

You can be jealous about someone or their talents until you turn green, but it is harmful to yourself and to that person if you try to sabotage them because of it. You can be so angry you can literally feel your temperature rise, but this does not give you permission to rage at others.

Your emotions are valid. They are always valid. You are a person of value. However, you behaviors are not always justified just because of those emotions. You may not be able to control you emotions, but you can certainly control your behaviors.

It started with some lame-ass joke Magilou’s style that eventually turn into a late-night dancing lesson. Because that totally happens.

Lol I finally figured out why I like Velvet so much.

Her entire attitude? The grumpiness, the violence, the insane need for revenge, the betrayal arc and dead family?

Velvet is basically “I hate you and you and you and you especially, and everyone else too but deep down I’m actually not that bad…I would kill you for saying that though because my goal is to kill this guy, fuck everything else”

She’s not the damsel in distress or the ice cold enigma that female characters usually are. She’s blazing fury and ugly, ugly hatred. She’s single minded focus on her own quest, she’s disregard for consequences and collateral damage.

She gives off negativity in waves (figuratively and later even literally) and still gatherers a bunch of weirdos around her due to charisma and aligning goals.

She refuses to care but slowly develops a soft spot for her comrades anyway and even let’s them into her heart despite her general “FUCK OFF” facade.

All of that is exactly the plot and personality male protagonists have had forever. It’s incredibly cliche but it’s the first time I’ve seen a woman get to be that.

I’m speaking from my own personal experience but never before have I seen a woman whose fury, hatred and grief is portrayed in a non soft, downright messy and ugly way who still gets to be the protagonist.

And damn does it get ugly and messy at one point.

In short, I love Velvet Crowe, the walking talking anti-hero cliche who isn’t a dude.

Now if only that default outfit was a little less problematic

sometimes it’s annoying when your character can’t jump in a video game but how often do you jump in real life?
