Lemony Snicket

Lemony Snicket goes up to the counter and orders a caffé Americano. It is bitter. The barista is armed. The man in the corner has poisoned someone’s drink. The espresso machine is on fire. Lemony Snicket begins to run down the street as the Starbucks explodes. He is being chased. He spills his coffee.

I’m really worried about my mom. She’s beginning to forget really simple details of things that she’s asked me within weeks of of hearing it.

"Aren’t you flying today?" "No, tomorrow"

"Isn’t [Rhamnose] there this weekend?" "No, he’s on vacation."

"Didn’t you say you were buying x?" "No, I said I WASN’T"

This list could go on and on and on. And I’m not sure if she just isn’t paying attention when I talk to her or if she’s just starting to lose it….

I got a couple responses to this, all of the, being really, no big deal, don't worry about it stuff. And I don't see it too much anymore because I'm not living with them. But my brother told me today that she had been talking for a couple weeks how she owed $___ on the credit card. But she sent the money to our insurance company instead. A pretty large sum...

I honestly don't know where the line is between casual forgetfulness and consistent behavior like this.

No no no no, guys PLEASE read the amendment.

It makes VERY SPECIFIC exceptions for abortions and miscarriages.

Straight from the legislative declaration:

"(h) Therefore, nothing in this act shall be construed to confer personhood, or any rights associated with that status, on a human being at any time prior to live birth;

(i) Additionally, nothing in this act shall be construed to permit the imposition of criminal penalties against a woman for actions she takes that result in the termination of her pregnancy; and

(j) Finally, nothing in this act shall be construed to permit the imposition of criminal penalties against a health care provider engaged in providing health care services to a patient."

18-3.5-110:

"NOTHING IN THIS ARTICLE SHALL BE CONSTRUED TO CONFER THE STATUS OF "PERSON" UPON A HUMAN EMBRYO, FETUS, OR UNBORN CHILD AT ANY STAGE OF DEVELOPMENT PRIOR TO LIVE BIRTH."

All it is doing is giving harsher penalties to people who kill fetuses in motor vehicle accidents or homicides. 36 U.S. states already have provisions for this.

If I'm wrong, please tell me, but I honestly read through the whole bill and I don't see the "omg women who get abortions will be murderers" stuff.
